  1. Are you perchance suggesting that enforced union membership is a good idea? WOW uh, they voted for the union... Not ALL of them. that's democracy for you
  2. they'll have jobs and the benefit of union membership for a lot longer than that

  4. no, it's like having a job and union membership - the rest is your overactive imagination predicting doom and gloom. i predict they'll still have jobs in 2 weeks - and provide a good example to other employers
  5. though at the moment they have both jobs and union membership so good news
  6. Our country is indeed being politically divided along income lines, and this division is threatening our future. Of course I think we'd be better off with less blame-shifting and less hate-mongering. all the rich have to do is take their tax increases like good citizens and all will be fine... Tell you what, make, oh, $10,000,000, give it to the Government, then get back to me. and when exactly did you stop beating your wife Nice try. I did not ask a compound question, I just pointed out that you are talking out your ass. and you're one clue short of a crossword puzzle? stay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding

  9. No, I don't think you've explained that very well. I don't know about "most of us," but I'm personally affected by both factors. My bank account has less buying power because of inflation, but at the same time I'm paying way less in income tax so I realize a net gain. you pay less tax but more for your weekly shopping is the arguement... stay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding
  10. No, it was not really commiting to the war. We have plenty of nukes to turn both countries into glass. and the rest of the world have enough nukes to turn you to glass in return - checkmate... stay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding

  14. No really! Thank you for agreeing to the cut in your retirement pay entitlement. Of course if you all had been up to the task of winning in Afghanistan our country would be enjoying a much rosier economy. The US bet on you to get the job done and you let the people down. But thank you for atleast seeing your failing and quietly accepting the retirement cut. Ah, Afghanistan - The Graveyard of Empires! Yup, we should have gone in there and showed the Brits and the Soviets how it's done. "This time it's different!" Right. i think afghanistan could have been 'won' - iraq was the backbreaker... stay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding
  15. No. I'm less interested in who started class warfare, so you agree that the rich started it - but think that the poor shouldn't defend themselves... stay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding

  19. Ultimately, it's the family's responsibility to educate their children, independent of what the "rich" think. no, it's society's job to educate the next generation... stay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding

  21. I want to comment on your thread's title. I think you should take a moment and sit down with someone who remembers the early 30's. Even remotely comparing the current situation to the Great Depression is nothing short of an insult to that generation. they paid the price - and you won't even learn the lesson... stay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding
  22. And that's a never ending balance. Well regulated vs. over/under regulated. Alot of this balance is dictated by how well educated a society is. the market has been badly regulated, letting the rich accrue too much wealth which they then use to further 'tilt' the market their way. this is why the rich don't want a well educated society - enough to do the 'clever' jobs for them but no more... stay away from moving propellers - they bite blue skies from thai sky adventures good solid response-provoking keyboarding
