    My grandmother lost all of her hearing in an illness when she was 17. When she was in her 60's they used her as one of the 'test subjects' for cochlear implants. It didn't do much. 20 years later she had the second ear done, and it was so much better that she called my father on the phone to tell him that there was this 'strange noise' in her house and it had her scared. He asked her to hold the phone out so that he could hear what she was listening to. When the noise happened again, he told her "mom, that's your front door bell, someone has come to see you" Can you even imagine what she had missed all of those years? skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

    Excellent question Sangiro. I'll check into it when the office opens up tomorrow. They've had me doing set up work in Rantoul since Saturday, and I haven't been near a computer.     I know the answers to the questions, but I haven't been asked. But one of my favorite memories is the first day that Don arrived in Rantoul at last years WFFC. The entire crew is standing on top of manifest waiting for Don to arrive. It's really crowded up there, and we are all searching the skies wondering where in the heck he can be, after all he left Quincy 18 minutes ago. The Airboss gets on the phone and calls the Springfield Illinois FSDO. "Have you had an L-39 come thru your airspace?" "NO?! Really, he should have been thru there about 12 minutes ago!" Just about then Don comes SCREAMING out of the sky overhead and we all hit the deck! What a great beginning to the WFFC 2005!     No requirements of any type. Do you have an idea when you may be able to join us? I have a tentative schedule for the set up stuff, and I'm trying to figure out who all I have for various types of things that need to be done. Because we are on a different schedule this year, it may get just a little hairy.. OOOPS, better go shave my legs right now while I'm thinking about it!     Hey Jaye, we had a few years like that 13 to be exact. Strange that it would be 13, but anyway, I guess the important thing for me to focus on instead of dwelling on the negative, was to look at what POSITIVE thing I can do to change this cycle, or to improve the lot that's been given to me. I'm not sure that it ever really changed anything except my outlook. And I gotta tell you, that's one reason I hang out with skydivers.     We used to have a 'big band' leader here who used shoe polish to color his bald pate. Looked funny, but worked ok, til the band had to play in the rain.. Sure made a mess of his white suit. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

    We were at a church in St. Petersburg Fl, and I leaned over and whispered to Streaker "hey, look, we're the only ones in here with brown hair" Then I looked at him and realized his is completely silver.
