buy a bigger plastic pot for your containerized rose, don't worry about it blooming this year, just get it thru the year in the most protected, easiest way possible. Screw the hijackers, I think they all started drinking early tonight! I've put WAAAAYYY too much money in WAAAAYYY too many yards, so I know how you feel. It looks really nice, keep up the good work! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

You have a disease in that area called black spot Black spot Symptoms: Distinct black blotches on leaves, surrounded by yellow halos. Leaves fall prematurely. Shoots, and often the entire plant are weakened by severe attacks. Danger period: From late spring on Treatment: Remove and dispose of affected foliage and plant parts, including fallen leaves, off site. For serious outbreaks, apply mancozeb, benomy, copper hydroxide, lime sulfur, or chloronthalonil according to label instructions. It's been my experience that it is in the soil, and will probably be there in that spot all season. I would suggest that you containerize your plant in waiting and hold off on planting it until next season, if you insist on putting it in that spot. What you have is a fungus that has splashed up onto the leaves, probably thru water splashing up, and infected that plant. Let that area dry out after you treat it, so the fungus dies, and doesn't spread. DO NOT add the infected plant or parts to your compost heap. The entire compost heap will become infected. I garden for a living.... skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Free 20'X30' tent on DZ row at the WFFC
Snowwhite replied to Fleahop's topic in Events & Places to Jump
MAN@@@!!!!~~~!!! Nothing like waiting til the LAST minute! Guess all of those times you asked how many people were pre-registered, in your mind you were gonna add PLUS ONE. Doesn't really make any difference, the ladies in the office said the online pre-regs and the phones have been CRAZY and they are wondering how they are going to get it all done in time to pack it up and bring it to Rantoul! Hey this is a reminder to all of you. The ladies in the Quincy WFFC office pack the place up tomorrow night starting at 5 PM. The semi trucks full of stuff start arriving in Rantoul first part of next week. If you are going to pre register to save some bucks, DO IT NOW. If you want to reserve a tent on DZ row DO IT NOW! This is the last 300 feet, your canopy should be TOTALLY inflated by now! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -

Hey guys your party should be on the calendar this afternoon! The last day of pre-registration is TOMORROW for those who are still looking to save a few bucks on it, and for those who still want to get in on the drawing for a free jump ticket. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
Consider it done! we'll have a van for rides back from the landing area you choose. Let me know when and where, we'll bring "accessories" in the van. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Well, it sounds like the drunken nations jamie party is coming along great. I gotta find something suitable to wear! These guys are gonna try to outdo the Hellfish Toga party, so be sure to bring your prettiest jamies and hottest Toga so that you can be in the IN crowd at both of these great evenings! I have decided how to give away the free jump tickets I was talking about before, and you will have exactly THREE days to get in on it. The ladies in the office are going crazy trying to get all of the pre-reg info taken care of, and all of the office stuff packed and ready to go. The first of the volunteers have moved into Rantoul but it sounds like we need to coax Patrick (FrenchCloud) to come back from France, he had MAJOR surgery on his stomach last week, and we will be giving him light duty on setup if he is able to make the trip. He will not be the 'furthest traveling' volunteer this year, that prize will be going to Christine who is joining us from AUSTRALIA. Holy cow, it's great to have such dedicated and fun volunteers! The underground locator guys are in Rantoul this morning making sure that none of us electricute ourselves as we put up 10 miles of fence this weekend! Today is map day, so if you haven't ordered your tent do it TODAY so that we can get you on the map! It takes a while to build the map and get it printed etc, so be a little patient, as I know I will probably get a "how come the map isn't on the website" request in about 10 minutes from now. WOOO HOOO! It's time to head to Rantoul!! See you there in a couple of weeks! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Is that what it is??.........I thought you had a bun in your oven. (Hey Stictch, when you talk about a womans weight, the thread dies.) I'm up here in Wisconsin, and the weather is GREAT but everyone is talking bout the WFFC, so I'm really looking forward to getting back to Illinois and getting it all set up! Looks like Streakers entire dz is planning on staying in my RV, should be an interesting stretch.. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Lemme know if you have a Danish one... I am back at my home for the week, so I don't have the flags here. Do you have a cut and paste so that when I get back to the WFFC office, before we put them up, I can check and see if I have one? We actually have more flags than posts, because you guys have been so generous thru the years. We will put up the cleanest nicest flags from the lot, unless there are specific requests. ANd yea, I'm pretty much EVERYONES friend at the WFFC, especially when I unplug toilets!!! LOL!! Will you be my friend too, and try to not plug them up? HEY SUNNY! Yea, your little bubble counts! I like your world! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

No shit? Are you serious? the National anthem? LOL As it is the WORLD freefall convention, are any other national anthems being played? Bring yours on CD, it will get air time. There will be a sign telling you the frequency of our radio station, so turn on your car radio when you arrive and listen to the official WFFC radio broadcasts, with manifest announcements (available anywhere in Rantoul). Btw for those of you who don't know, the first thing you see when you enter the WFFC grounds is Avenue of the Flags. These 36 flags have been brought to us by returning skydivers from around the world. If you would like us to fly yours, bring one, and we will! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Anybody help me find DZ's in MN and WN?
Snowwhite replied to skydonkey's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I hear that they are having something special in Baldwin this weekend. I am heading up there to meet Streaker and the guys from Superior, who are all heading down there to jump. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com -
Hey Rick, thanks for the good words! You too, PF and Voodoo. Yea, if anyone wants to lend a hand, I'd be glad to work a couple hundred fewer hours this year, and I know about a dozen other staff members who would say the same thing. Come on out and help! Betsy has it right when she says there is plenty to do. It's nice to know that some people know and appreciate what we do, and come anyway! Ha! I owe you guys one of Don's free beers! In the meantime, I think I'll kick back and have one myself! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Man, I hope she DID have a nanny cam, and it ends up on the net. Did you happen to mention to her that you are a skydiver? Maybe she'll post it here! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

I wonder if they do that on purpose, maybe they lace them up with rawhide thread or something. Good way to sell LOTS more of them. Darn! She can have the cheapies. I was saving the good stuff for Streaker. Now he'll never see them and NO I won't take pictures! YUK!! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Hey Sangiro, thanks for asking again about the vendors. This is a big issue for us, and one that we work on ALL year. Contrary to what people may think, this is a continuous magnum opus. We have a great staff, and it's true that not as many of us get a chance to get out to as many dropzones as we would like, but I have to tell you, there are LOTS of us out there, but there are LOTS of dz's as well. People are assuming that a list that they see on any given day is THE list, the FINAL list and the ONLY list. Ask Michael, that is totally wrong. We have brought Michael in to help us diseminate information as soon as we get it. We are continuing to work on the WFFC every day of the year and will do so up to and through opening day this year, as we do every year. Every one wants to know who is confirmed, before they confirm themselves. DUH! We have been asking people to confirm since BEFORE the beginning of the year, and some are just now starting to return phone calls. We are apparently not the only busy people in the world. The list is growing every day. We are still talking with vendors, jumpers, seminar presenters and even food vendors on a daily basis. I will tell you this. Putting on a boogie this size is REALLY expensive. I MEAN HUGE! Ask Jay, Ask Spence, ask Betsy Barnhouse, ask Don Kirlin. The reason no one but Don ever puts on the WFFC is because of that HUGE expense. Call a porta pottie place and ask how much 60 of those puppies run for 15 days, with service. Ok, right em a check. Don't forget about the Load Organizing tents, the Loading tents, the Entertainment tent, the Food tent, the electricity bill the water bill, the satellite trailer bill. Jump tickets for load organizers, ten bands, a couple hundred barrels of beer, who's gonna organize and control 150 volunteers? Do we have enough t-shirts for the volunteers, what about hats for the lo's. What if we have 6 days of rain, who's gonna pay for all of this stuff? Whew! I get tired just thinking of it, but luckily, we have a terrific staff who keep plugging away, answering phones, calling vendors, calling air plane owners, talking to the FAA, trying to get the most unusual jump fleet together to try and keep the reputation as the Worlds Largest and MOST DIVERSE boogie intact. The problem with being the only boogie that has ever brought a 727 to jump at all, much less for what? 6 years, is that people expect that kind of service to continue. When the FAA, and/or the insurance people tell us that just isn't gonna happen, we take it in the shorts. I gotta tell ya, NO ONE was as dissappointed in the news as the staff at the WFFC. We want to continue to bring you the biggest, best, most diverse fleet and we still do. I do understand that many of you have access to Casas and Skyvans regularly, although not at the same time, especially not on the same day as Mike Mullins super king air, HALO jumps, balloons, an inverted bi-plane, helicopter(s) and this year, a glider. When the vendors tell us that they want various amenities, we do all we can to accomodate them. I was told just this week that our fee (and it WASN:T 1800 bucks!) wasn't the problem. The problem is 12,000 to 30,000 bucks worth of additional shipping/staffing/travelling in an economy where (according to USPA) skydiving membership has FALLEN for 5 years running. I will continue to press for more and quicker information for our website, but it will continue to change until the Convention begins. We have a great conversation going on with some of the people you want to see at our Convention, but they aren't CONFIRMED yet. We'll let you know as soon as they are! If you want to have the biggest and best boogie, you have to keep on keeping on. Thank goodness, despite all of this, Don does. skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Why is it when I have 3 dollar Hanes she leaves them alone, but when I spend 20 bucks on a pair of VS, she figures out how to open the door to the closet so she can get in the hamper and chew them up?!?! skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
