You're right, it's not that hard, just go to a marine supply store and get a fiberglass hull repair kit. Now spend the next 5 days shaping coating re-shaping, re-coating, sanding, filing, coating again, painting, foaming, ect. The best fitting, and custom matched D-boxes can be made that way. But don't change your camera type! You'll have to stare at square one again. It's just my opinion, but I don't think pack jobs are the reason many people end up with a mal they have to chop. From my own experience I have 2200 skydives and one chop way back on jump 26. Body position and not flying the opening was the reason, as well as an experience level not up to par with fixing the situation. 2200 and I use packers at least 75% of the time. When I pack it's usually a "trash" pack, shake it out and put it in the bag..... I think it's all about flying the openings. Rarely do I get line twists. I've got the 14. Beautiful lens, expensive and heavy. I've know someone with the 15 nice, fisheye effect is not as bad as you might think. Less expensive and lighter. I have samples of both and I'll post them as soon as I get to my home computer. My 2 cents: The 14 and 15 are REALLY wide even on the 10D with the 1.6 multiplyer. You might think about a 20 especial if you shoot things like tandems, or over the top RW. What are you using for a wide angle on you video, and are you concerned with having them close to matching?
