By WHO? Yer sick. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Groovy. The way your original post read, it sounded like you were taking your rigger's opinion as gosple and not chalenging it. You have done your homework and made your decision. I don't agree with it but that's not the point. Got a reserve you want to give away now? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Sorry I should have said the since RWS has published the most technical guide, they would be "MY" source of information. On the othere hand I prefer another manufactures riseres. Where is Bill Booth when you need him? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

True, a manufacturer canmake changes (i.e. Wonderhog to Vector) but they must be documented, and filed with the FAA on a eriodic basis. For example if I remeber correctly Mick designed the Reflex with a ringed harness only, and then had to re-submit TSO paperwork to build non ringed Reflexs. This allows the FAA to CYA. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I thought so, but I guess I'd have to check to be sure. RWS publishes a guide on riser manufacture. I'd say that would be "THE" source. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Get a second opinion. He's doing you a disservice. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

IMO the length from the top of the riser to the medium ring attachment point. At least that's the way I measure them. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

AFAIK the Skyhook becomes a part of the Vector Reserve deployment system, and therefor the rig must be TSO'd with it. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I want to be the first to wish my buddy Deuce a Happy Birthday.

Holy freekin' Bananan! It's his B-Day? Damn' hope it's a fun one! Happy birthday dude! (Hey do I get a present on your birthday too? I mean being the OJP and all.) ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
And then there is the Raven MAX. A reserve thats built like a freekin' tank, and flys well when loaded. Hmmm... Times progress and things change. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Sure it shut off? Airtec just released a bulletin stating that a few processors for the control unit display ONLY had been discovered to have an intermitent problem. When conditions were right an electromagnetic interference would cause the display to go blank, but not affect the status, or operation of the unit. They went on to say there is no need for the units to be serviced before their due date, however if there were any concerns, owners of affected units could send them in to have the issue corrected, at no charge. I'll post the bullitin as soon as I get back to the computer I have it stored on. Discussing an incident is one thing, and IMO perfectly acceptable in these forums. I applaud your effort, interest, and desire to learn more about a story you came across. The previous poster IMO is relying on sensationalisim and dramatics to get attention, to the disservice of those who wish to learn and share. I feel they are succeeding all too well. Of course that is just my opinion. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I wuz there. Where you at? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

You have proof of this? If so show us, if not keep the speculation to yourself. You already did. This makes most people a little more humble. Wise up. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

And if the rig had an RSL and was rigged correctly, the side with the RSL would have had a longer cutaway cable on that side, preventing it's premature release. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

The Diablo is a fun canopy. If you have been used to flying 9 cell canopies the flair is going to feel much different (it's a 7cell if you didn't know) so that may account for your weak flair feeling. The Nitron is one of the nicest non-crossbraced elipticals on the market right now. Great openings, sporty feel, and superb landings. If I were to go to a non-crossbraced canopy again this would be it. Ask Mike McGowin, he loves his. I have had bad luck with the Cobalt. Out of 15 jumps or so I've had 6 openings I would call unacceptably hard, and am not real impressed by any other carachteristic of the canopy enough to want to risk it any longer. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. It's the best damn' rig in the universe! And the guy who builds them is a god with a sewing machine. Seriously the rig is well thought out and built, has any number of modern features for any type of flying you wish. Service is top notch, and IMO it has nice clean lines. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I'm sure DeLand is a nice place. And with an attitude like that you can just go ahead stay there. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
