The real problem Mike is that when evidence is handed over to the USPA, it too frequently gets no action as the RD or others are "friends" with the DZO's and simply cover the whole thing up rather than make the example that needs to be made. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. I have 2 sets I'm not willing to part with, but I think I know someone who has quite a few sets and they might be for sale. Send me a PM. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

If you could buy a plane for your DZ......
diablopilot replied to weaverd's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Do you think it's possible to use the bottom of the lower cargo extension as the floor of the cabin? That would be so nice, even if the door didn't extend down that far. Pretty sure that's a negative. The cargo pod is a fiberglass attachment to the fuselage. The Cargo pod adds quite a bit of drag and slows the climb rate quite a bit. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -

Get a Roc then. Great helmet, good comfort, good protection, and the ability to hear better is a plus in some situations. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

In response to your overly dramatic title for this post, yes I think they are, and I've got about 4000 jumps on them to back that up. In response to your issue, take it up with the manufacturer, I know they will do right if they have found a problem. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Of course it's in violation FAR 105.45 Subpart C Secton (a) Item 1 Para (iv) & (v). But who's to care about an FAR violation. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Skydiving is dangerous. I learned 270's on Stilettos. There was nothing else to learn them on at the time. I'm still here. Dangerous is an attitude and a mindset, not a specific canopy or loading. BTW you ought to see my 450 on a Stiletto. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Is an AAD misfire interfering with normal operations of a rig
diablopilot replied to hcsvader's topic in Gear and Rigging
That would be all AAD's currently on the market, wouldn't it? Yes, but Argus has distinguised itself by creating the probability of locking the reserve flaps closed with a cutter that has become siezed onto the loop. Does anyone not see this as being an even bigger problem than a premature activation? (edit for DZ.com software glitch) Viewed another way any container manufacturer that has place the cutter higher than the reserve pilot chute or reserve free bag has created the problem of a "locked reserve container". ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. How about you not subjecting me and everyone else to higher auto liability insurance premiums to pay for your freedom to have the wind in your hair while sharing the public roads with everyone else? How about you attack the insurance industry since they are the cause of that particular problem, and not the individual who simply wants the freedom of choice. Fuckin' nanny state. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Reassuring to the masses huddled in the dark and scared shitless around a radio, but completely untrue. Wolf. Sheep. Sheepdog. Pick one. I have. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

NEWS FLASH!: I went riding last night, WITHOUT a helmet, and I survived. How you say? I rode responsible, consumed no intoxicants, road within my abilities and following traffic rules. I stayed alert to what traffic was doing and never insisted on my "right" to be somewhere, I saved the hot dogging for the grill, and focused on the job of avoiding a collision. But you're all right, I should have had a helmet. And kneepads. Maybe a cup. And a mouth guard for sure. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Next thing you'll be saying is I'm an idiot for not wearing a helmet skydiving. Tell you what. Why don't you make sure YOU put on all the pads, and helmets YOU want, and leave me to make the adult decisions I'm capable of. Or do you want to pay my bills and wipe my ass for me? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

If I were in your boat, I'd pack up and head for either Gold Coast, or Spaceland. Gold coast was great people last time I was there. Spaceland is great people too. There's a bunk house here, you can make a weekend of it easy, or even do the full week course and knock it out all together. PM me. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

So you're also saying that the jumper had no responsibility to open their own parachute? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

So you're saying L. Ron Hubbard was involved in the creation of Atmo? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

They should have the knowledge to land safely off dz without assistance, shouldn't they? Isn't that taught in the FJC? then they shouldn't need radio at all right? Yep. And as all FJ methods should be teaching, the radio is a backup device only, to assist IF possible. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I BELIEVE that what I SAID was..."Most people who make a single skydive and most students do not realize that the Skydiving Industry is not regulated." So, YOU are saying that a person should thoroughly research the industry and whether or not it is regulated before making a skydive? If THAT happened, 1st time jumps would be cut in half. "Reading is fundamental". Don't just READ...try to comprehend... I did read, and comprehend. What you've said is you believe it's ok for people to not research, or understand the risks associated with the activity they are about to participate in. What? We should accept higher numbers of customers in exchange for enabling ignorance? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I've never found it a standard policy to follow a student on a IAD, or SL jump. When they are dispatched, usually there is someone on the ground to give them canopy direction if needed. (i.e. radio, paddles, arrow, etc.) ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Should the AAD activation altitude be raised to 1250 feet?

Where is the "Like" button? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
You're just saying the waiver is meaningless because a person doesn't take the time to understand it? Bull. Personal responsibility. It's a great concept. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

FAR 105.45 part (a) (2) The person acting as parachutist in command: (i) Has briefed the passenger parachutist before boarding the aircraft.
