    So you're saying that if i put one on my 135 Safire, the swoop gods won't laugh at me? This is a serious question btw, cos the canopy is due for a reline and i have seriously been thinking about putting 500 hma on it and adding a removable slider. I'll laugh at you, but I'm not a swoop god, and it won't be about the canopy, but more about after jumping bar antics! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     I'd like to think of it as an evolution. There are still some in the sport, and joining the sport, that will sit around the "bonfire" and listen to the tales. We enjoy a good yarn, and might just learn something to boot. Sorry for your loss my friend, hope to hear more about your friend and be able to share the stories with ya. Blue Skies, -jp-

    It was about as cheap as the shots you've been taking at those that have a passion for the sport. Of course the sport didn't start when I picked up a rig, and it you had any idea of the person I am, you'd know how much respect I have for those that came before. Perhapse if you had a bit more respect for those that invest themselves in the sport rather than just take from it, you wouldn't come off bitter. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     Whatever. Last years Nationals was covered on ESPN. They had air to air of 8 way (with Craig G. doing live cometary IN freefall), and the Swoop Competition. The Southern California CPC was covered by the Today Show, and LA Times. The CPC National championships were covered by the Denver Post. None of the coverage featured crashes. Just because you have a bad attitude about skydiving, doesn't mean everyone else does. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    A velcro retainer works very well and will release in the event of a cutaway after the slider is stowed (rare). ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    When tying, start with a normal bow, but instead of going around once, go around twice before pulling the bow through, then take the bow ears and loose ends of the laces and make one more knot above the first. Hard to explain, but as a tunnel instructor, I never have mine come untied that way. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

    It's not hard to understand. The Katana hasn't been released in the larger sizes because it doesn't work right. Aerodynamics do not scale. The Katana is not a finished product in the 135 and 150 sizes, yet everyone wants to give PD shit for not releasing it, when they should be applauding the fact that they do not want to release a sub standard product. Heck, the openings on the smaller sizes are a bit on the wild side, want them to be worse?     Actually he's dead on. The handfull of "Mega DZ's" opperate under a different set of rules. When you have 100 fun jumpers all week long around to fill your planes you make it up in volume. When you have one plane, are on a busy GA airport, and have 20 regular fun jumpers who come out mid morning on saturday, and take off before trafic gets bad on Sunday, you better have tandems to make up the difference. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     Yep, that's the only reason they do it, just like 4 way competitors think the same, or CReW dawgs, or ....... Really? THat's why swoop comps are drawing the general public? Wuffos think most skydivers are idiots who are lucky to live through the landings on those round parachutes. I for one would not pay, nor would I charge for viewing a swoop comp, but you are just creating annoying stereotypes. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
