How many jumps in 1 day optimum for a student?
diablopilot replied to cmnt's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Depends on the student, but I won't let an AFF student of mine do more than three in a day. There is too much mental fatigue that occurs and jumps after the third are rarely productive. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Jump #29 reserve ride - maybe this isn't for me...
diablopilot replied to hackish's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You handled a malfunction perfectly, and landed safely and you're pissed off? Hike up your skirt and get back on the airplane Sally. Seriously, good job. Stuff happens. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
You're awsome. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

St' Kitts! Congrats! Super duper excited for you! You know there are no men there right? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Buy Precision Aero. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

You can buy any product you want, pick it a part without having jumped it and then you have a pattern. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Agreed. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Wow. Judging by the distance scores those ARE some high winds. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Bingo. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

NTSB said that was pilot error. Amazing what happens when you nail the rudders back and forth a few times. And why should the pilot have THAT much rudder authority in that scenario? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I don't take them. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Tandem - broken bridle upon drogue release - what would you do?
diablopilot replied to cpoxon's topic in Instructors
Maintain your gear. Stop jumping crap. Otherwise it's summed up much like a P/C in tow situation. IF the main deploys and you have cut it away, you have no control over it. If you have not cut it away, you have some control and can react from there. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
I simply stated it was not a "life saving issue". The bigger problem is that Shlomo is mis-representing the truth by saying that packing a 20+ year old piece of equipment goes against a PIA recomendation. Not true. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I would love to do a 10 way speed comp, by the old rules, let me know if there gets to be something organized.

When? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I have 9 round jumps, none landed on dry land (breakaways or water landings), but I do like the quiet, and floating feeling as a change. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Of course it wasn't anywhere near terminal and I did land it in the water. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Jumped one yesterday. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

While the mistake of the loop not going through the cutter is a bad one, it is not life threatning. The reserve would still function when deployed manualy. Thousands and thousands of jumps are made every year with no AAD's. Your attitude stinks. Have you never made a mistake? Not likely. I hope this rigger learns from their mistake. And I hope they don't have to deal with an ego like yours. And there is nothing wrong with a 20 year old reserve, provided it is in fair shape. Hell I just watched a canopy older than that be BASE jumped. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

It's a Nah. for me. Besides how can you suck on toes when they are in CFM heels? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I generally consider a Hop and Pop to be an exit and deployment within about 5 seconds of each other. Altitude is irrelevant. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

How many jumps did you have...

Over 300. And it is NOT a good thing to try to avoid it. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Yes. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

You say you have an 'A' licence: Oh, and there's no whining in skydiving. Shut up and jump.
