  1. Are you a hand model? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  2. Yeah, but I stole the idea from you. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  3. How do I get my instructor rating and groovy jumpsuit patch? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  4. That is your opinion. My opinion is that every component in a system should be analyzed for every possible mode of failure. If an user error failure mode can be eliminated by a simple change - then that change should be made. And - when that failure mode is observed in the field, it should be brought to the attention of the community so more careful attention could be paid to it on future installations, inspections, and design changes. For comparisons sake only (I think they are a good product) PD Slinks have a pretty common mode of failure when assembled by novices who don't RTM. French links are often not installed correctly by those who don't RTM. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  5. Nope, not mistaken in your opinion, nor am I in mine.....as said in a song once..."dowhachulike"!
  6. Down the front of your jumpsuit or shirt isn't pretty, but it's quite a bit more secure. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  7. Improperly blaming the product for someone's inability (not yours) to RTM, is not the answer. The soft links (and that's what they are, not "Slinks") work just fine. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  8. No, you really don't. Not the way he's doing it. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  9. Jump a 206 and 208, top mount, no protection. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  10. Harness hold=AFFI. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  11. Probably not. The training and spotting methods are different to avoid that. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  12. Yeah, she gives me a headache too...... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  13. Sounds like there's a story in that somewhere. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  14. The point he made is they are not innovators, they simply haven't taken the time to be involved enough in the sport to find out they are re-inventing the wheel, and most of the time, not learning from the mistakes made before them. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  15. Easy solution. Just don't get on the plane when Bill is flying. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  16. Their mommies didn't love them enough, Gary. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  17. My limits, clean air: Work jumps 22knots, fun jumps 15 knots. "Dirty" or highly convective air.....I'm on the ground in anything over about 15 knots. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  18. Not really. It's gotten whiny and fun-sucking. Skygods, whatever... That's why I BASE jump. Me and gravity. No rules. Libertarianism in its purest form. See, and I've been thinking BASE has become full of whiny bitches, who have no respect for anyone. Note: Present company excluded!

    Pwned?!

  20. Don't know what the regulations are in the country he's doing them, nor on the system he's using (Atom I think.) However it's a poor idea to be doing with wuffos. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  21. Think about why setting an AAD while climbing, or at a different altitude than you'll be jumping is dangerous. It won't fire at the altitude you were expecting. In the case of setting it while climbing (some models won't activate in a climb) it would fire higher than designed. Now thing about the dangers of resetting your altimeter in the climb by comparing it to others on the plane. If those you're using as a reference are wrong, yous will be too, right? And if you were using the aircraft altimeter as a reference, you need to make an adjustment based on how high your DZ is from standard sea level since thats what the A/C altimeter is set to. If in the climb your altimeter is less than 200 feet off from 2 or 3 others that seem to agree in the airplane, I wouldn't bother resetting it. It just doesn't matter that much. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  22. So, who is the *inventor* of the secondary pilot chute? Does he still support the system? For those who support the catapult, I would like to know your thoughts on the Cross Keys fatality on a Reflex. Is it,"some safety equipment will cause failures elsewhere? like the RSL, AADs, etc? I would just like to hear peoples opinion one way or the other. The Cross Keys fatality was an out of sequence emergency procedures ralated problem, it had nothing to do with the Catapult. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  23. In addition to the possibility of unplanned high speed deployment, there is the increased risk of instability, injury to the student, excessive wear/failure of the drogue and related components, and loss of altitude awareness. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  24. The article is a sensationalistic load of bullshit. It's akin to drivers continuing to drive on expired registration with DMV approval IF they were to regularly maintain their cars. Some Senator is simply grandstanding. The overpaid pompus fuck. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
