What he said except that I am still having problems with it. The pain is easier to deal with than getting cut and missing jumps for several months. Horny Gorillas can be just that! Where does it say that I am surprised? Save putting words in people's mouth for the Speaker's Corner. See highlighted blue. that statement was mad based on above, once it dislocates it will continue to do so, see link I gave below, if you read it it would have explained. Thank you for the diagnosis, Dr Eener. May I see your Medical license? I was giving personal experiance as I just went thru this shit and spent a lot of time talking to my doctor, excuse me for sharing my knowledge Nice reference...I'll keep it bookmarked. Two things going on here. 1) This is where you make false assumptions. You assume that "sublex or dislocate" events are happening. Where did I say that? again see above...you stated same as he said, but you are still having problems he said his shoulder poped out, if it stays out and needs to be reduced it dislocated, if it pops out and in it sublexed... 2) Your tone is very condescending. Talk to me. I'm a grown up...not your kid. sorry you read it that way, was meant more of a concern I said, "The pain is easier to deal with than...." Again, please do not put words in my mouth. Save that for the Speaker's Corner. my dear that is sucking it up, dealing with pain instead of getting it looked at and/or fixed For clarification and edification: Pain, nothing more, nothing less...do not go off the deep end with assumptions and putting words in one's mouth. Sheesh. All I did is share the shit I just went thru, I thought it was just simple pain too. But i bit the bullet and went to the doc to have it looked at. It was far worse then just pain. I never dislocated, but I was sublexing and didnt know it, each and everytime it popped in and out it was doing more and more damage to my rotator cuff and my glenoid labrum. Eventually it would have torn the shit out of them requiring far more intense surgery. But im not going to go into anyfurther as you really dont give a shit about any one elses experince. Just needed to clarify, im done here, my experince with this posted. And maybe, just maybe someone will learn from this and save themselves from further problems and go see a doctor. Good luck with that She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto

What he said except that I am still having problems with it. The pain is easier to deal with than getting cut and missing jumps for several months. Horny Gorillas can be just that! See Highlighted! This suprizes you how? It is not going to suddenly repair itself. You have loosened your shoulder enough that it will continue to pop out. Yes you can infact do some PT to the muscles around the shoulder but once those muscles poop out, you are going to dislocate. I has been said and I will say it again, the shoulder is very very delicate. It is the most flexible of all joints as well as the most fragile. take a look HERE This is the site for Steadman Hawkins, one of the best Ortho docs out there, and there is some amazing information on the shoulder. You need to understand each and everytime you let that shoulder either sublex or dislocate you are doing further damage to that shoulders bones, ligaments and tendons. You can get to the point that it will be unfixable. You say it is better to suck it up and not get cut and have to be out months? I had surg in May 05, and will be back in the air next month (sept) Shoulder is completely stable now, it will not dislocate unless I injure it again. No more sublexing.... Here are my other threads on shoulders....the third one has pics of what my shoulder was doing before surgery And what they did during surgery One Two Three She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto

Keep in mind that your shoulder is only held in by muscles, tendons and ligaments. These can in fact become stretched out with repeatitive injury caused from many different avenues completely unrelated as well as related to skydiving. Some people like myself are hypermoble, also known as double jointed are prone to having shoulder dislocations. I had surg back in May because my shoulder was sublexing, basically popping in and out of the socket. They had to go in and tighten down all of my ligaments in my shoulder to stop it from sitting half out of the socket when my muscles were not contracted. In some cases I think, and this is my theory, that if someone doesnt exactly have enought muscle strength to handle the FF air speed...that maybe this is also causing stretching of the ligaments, and then allowing the shoulder to dislocate. That is just a theory, not proven or told to be true by a doctor. This is of course in addition to the normal crashed into someone in freefall dislocation. Going on these lines, what the hospitals bill and what the insurance actually pays...that is correct, it is about 50%...Doc bills $200, Insurance pays $100, and then I get BCBS discount of $100 from doc office and I owe nothing (this is an example, based on the fact I have paid my out of pocket already) This is first hand experience from the surg I just had....looking at my bills. I love insurance, why is this? I took the time to make sure I got a job with insurance, then picked the good plan. Yea I pay a lil more a month, but when crap hit I was covered. Sure $90 a month is better then $120 a month now, but the $90 has a $3000 out of pocket max, with a $1000 deductable...while the $120 has a $100 deductable with a $600 max out of pocket with 90/10 coverage instead of 80/20....the second option is much better when you are sitting at home broken and unable to work....now how do you pay the bills? We need to take responsibility for ourselves and our actions...all of us. She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto

Thanks!!! Well I was hoping to go down for a day, but that just doesnt look like it is going to happen, have other obligations that I need to tend to, not to mention I cannot justify spending $70 to spend one night in a tent at the convention and not jumping.
