Actually I do need a strobe. I think they might have a few extra at Byron, as I was told I didn't have to bring that - just glow sticks. But, if you are coming out, then I don't have to make that trip to the sporting good store to pick one up. Sure, come out and watch and maybe you'll do a couple. Why did they make you repeat it ? Unless the jump was different than an AFF jump, I thought the purpose of the backflip was to get unstable and then RECOVER from the unstable body position. Sure I get those kind every once in a while. It is great to think that we are the few that get to enjoy the view of the world from a different perspective - away from the rug-rat race and the traffic, and the people. But more often I get the ones in the plane on the ride up. I think to myself " Self, what the fuck were you thinking ? Are you stooopid ??" But then the thought goes away almost as immediately as it came and I jump out the door. Usually those thoughts come if I don't jump for more than a couple weeks. Butthead: Whoa! I'll ask again, how do you NOT notice? - Jim Quite honestly, it almost happened to me at CSS last year. I was told to go grab a rental rig off this rack and the first one I grabbed was I think a 120 and I was supposed to be flying a hornet 210. A packer noticed right away and got me the right rig. Frankly, when you have that few of jumps ( Ihad less than 30 at the time) most rigs look about the same size - or they did to me. I can relate to the previous posts about grabbing the wrong rig. So I was out at the dz on Saturday and on the way up to altitude, this guy yells out "Watch out for the cloud snakes!" (there were large puffy clouds all over the place) I was like "What?"
