  1. What works for me when I'm congested is this little test... Plug your nose with your fingers and blow. A few things should happen: 1. your sinuses should fill up with air and you should feel pressure - NO PAIN. 2. Hold it for a couple seconds, still NO PAIN. 3. Release and your ears should de-compress almost immediately with NO PAIN. If your ears did not fully decompress (like right one still feels clogged) then its a NO GO. If they both stay clogged - it's a NO GO. They both should be clear and you should have NO PAIN and quick decompression. Repeat once or twice. If after that, it all feels good - then GO JUMP!! Othewise, I'd wait. Again, just my .02 and it's what I do when I feel congested or sick/flu. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! 2. So my mom's b-day is this Saturday and I was thinking of getting her a tandem jump. However, I'm not quite sure if she'll go for it. I mean she's watched me jump before and seemed to enjoy it, but never quite said "I want do that!" How would you go about it ? How DID you go about it when you did it for your mom or dad ? I thought about just taking a drive and ending up at the DZ and saying, "well lookee here... Happy b-day. Here's a tandem jump certificate!!" I guess I could sell the ticket if she didn't want it, but I'm trying to be an manipulative as possible. Anyone got any ideas ?? Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! 8. BTW, Mark, I have used that sw before when I used to play CounterStrike all the time and was part of a gaming clan. It was great to be able to talk in real time to each other. However, if I wanted to hear your voice, I would call you. Hence the benefit of using the Pub Chat, so I can work and chat inbetween work tasks. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! 16. Yo Chris, she didn't write that. She just needs to be shown how to properly "quote" things. It was Kris that said it originally. And the method he used to carry that message might have been a little hurtful to some, but the meaning still holds water. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! 18. My g/f went and saw it last year. She thought it was very creative and unique. She also said that about half the guys in the audience were men - with their wives, girlfriends, etc... You wouldn't catch me watching that show. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
  19. Wow!! I just spoke to a Verizon rep yesterday and he told me the same thing. You don't work for Cisco, do you ? I too have Verizon. I had Cingular/PacHell before them and they SUCKED ASS. Dropped calls all the time and shotty signal, especially in my house. I had to go outside to use my cell phone and missed many many calls. Plus their phone tech support/cust service lacks any service qualities to be called a service line. The most annoying thing was calling up numbers and have a busy signal (network busy signal.) This happened more than 30 times and I finally got sick with them and changed 18 months ago. Verizon has much better coverage here in the bay area. I get 3-4 bars at my house and have dropped only 2-3 calls due to network problems. That's bound to happen with any carrier, but when it happens once a week (with cingular) it gets old quick. The only thing I didn't like with Verizon at first was their phones. They don't carry all the latest and greatest phones. They only carry one Nokia and it's a low-end model. I would really like to get one of them Sony-Erichson phones, but only ATT has them. I am looking into the LG phones now compared to the Moto phones and they appear to be gettnig better reviews. Come February, I also get a $100 credit towards a new phone. Verizon calls it the "new every two" program. Basically it means that if you have a two year contract, you get a new phone ($100.00 value) every two years. Not too bad... Funny this thread popped up as I have been researching getting a new phone/service the past week, but think I'll wait until my two year contract is up and then get a new phone for free (or most of it paid for already.) 23. 1-when do you pull yourself from a load? - When I feel that I will be putting myself or others at risk of personal injury or death (other than the simple fact of jumping out of an airplane) 2 What are your reasons? - It varies - unsafe gear, too many people in the sky at once, "unsafe" people on the load, weather conditions. and the BIG QUESTION is 3if you are in the plane and you get a report of ground winds that you think may be too much, do you ride the plane down? - Of course. Silly boy! 4-how much is too much? - Well jumping at Byron, I get teased all the time that "jumping in this wind is nothing at Byron...blah blah blah" Bullshit. My rules are firm. If it's 20-22 and not gusting, I'll jump after watching a load or two land. If it's any higher or there is a delta in gust vs constant velociy of more than 8, I won't jump. Usually if the hangar doors are bangin', then it's too windy for me to be jumping. I have jumped in 30MPH winds ONCE - never again. I've sat out many a jump at Byron due to the wind and it'll happen again. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
