I saw that last night too. However, after the initial testing with the cut penny, they modified the nailer so that a full penny would fit into it. All the tests done after that were with a full penny, not a chopped up one. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump

Is this video someplace else that has the entire thing with him getting up afterwards ? I have not looked at all the movies on skydivingmovies.com, so I'm not sure if it's there. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump

I put about 20 jumps on mine in Eloy and have had no major problems with it. I say no major problems, but there are a few things that bother me about it. For one, the temperature is way off base. For the most part, I think it reads about 10-15 degrees too high. It seems pretty consistent in the temperature readings, so I think it just needs to be calibrated. The second bothersome thing is the updating process. I had tried two different laptops before figuring out that turning off "Image transfer" in the IR properties would fix this problem. Again, not a big deal, but it should be documented better. I also had a weird experience in Eloy. I was on the skyvan and there was a minor problem with opening the door, so the pilot decided to land at 5000 feet. The Neptune recorded that as a jump from 5000 feet with like 90 seconds of freefall. Also when we landed the altitude said -80 feet. That's a little disturbing, but not something that would affect a normal skydive, or it hasn't yet. I've also noticed that on jump run the Neptune would switch back and forth betwen freefall mode and climbing mode, so I think the sensitivity is good, but it shouldn't show the user unless there is a dramatic decrease in altitude. Overall, I love it as a second altimiter that replaces my Galaxy hand mount. I think it's well worth the extra money over the digitude, but would have to say the Pro-Track is just more accurate at this point. I have both, and the speeds are about the same, but just little things are different. I think that all the life-threatening issues have been fixed and now it's just a matter of fine tuning the asthetics and minor issues. I really don't need a temperature meter, but it's one of those neato things that would be cool if it worked right. I sometimes want to know how cold it was at altitude. With the new 2.0.18 code, it seems to clean up the menu navigation a bit especially the logbook feature, and I hear it works with the JumpTrack software, which I have not used yet, nor jumped with the new software yet. I'd buy another one and would recommend them to others. And I got mine from Santa! Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump

Wow! Very nice, very nice. Much faster speeds than I'm allowing too - although I'm bandwidth limiting too. I knew there were others that had a mirror. Cool beans - Thanks for sharing. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump -

Just a reminder... Please remember that this mirror is a TEMPORARY mirror, so please hold off on trying to copy the entire FTP Site until we find a permanent home for it. Then you can set your FTP clients and download programs to leech the whole site. Until then - knock that shit off. You know you are 'cause your IP is banned after I posted the nice note on the FTP server and you continued to rip the site directory by directory. I started out saying that I'd allow 1-2 gigs/day bandwidth. Even with 6 max users I'm burning through 4-5 gigs/day. No complaints from the ISP yet, so it's all good. Edit: oh, and the URL ftp://ftp.skydivingmovies.com is up now too. Thanks Craig. -- Matt Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! I got $20.00 to go in. They actually have a lot of these in Washington. I was watching some show on TLC or DIScovery about how they have many companies underground and it's working and they are expanding. Pretty neat. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yup, I done it.. Just graduated last April. Well, I went through the ceremony, but still have to take a few tests to actually get my degree, which I'm working on. It's a bit expensive - about 1100 for a 5 week class. Hope you got reimbursement someplace. True, you meet once a week in class for 4 hours, and then meet with your "learning team" for a supposedly 5-6 hours more that week and turn in group and individual assignments each week, with a large group presentation for the "Final" every 5 weeks. It's pretty simple.... I could have done most of the classes with only 10% effort. Ok, ok, I did only do the classes with 10% effort, but I still walked away with a 3.8 GPA, so take that for what it's worth. I'd recommend it for those looking for a degree. If you're looking for an education, I'd suggest looking elsewhere or try much much harder than I did. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Anyone watching this stupid stupid show ? Can you believe that Mel Gibson won favorite actor, even though he hasn't stared in a motion picture in two years ? He was up against Johnny Dep (my pick) and someone else.... forget his hame. This show sucks!!! oh, gotta go...commercial's over. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! It doesn't matter. Your chance of killing yourself would be the same. If you pulled it once, you still have 1 in 25,000 to hit it. If you pulled it 25,000 times, for every time, you would still have 1 in 25,000 to hit it. Your odds stay the same, so it doesn't matter. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! No dude, you're not getting it. You gave the perfect example of what we are all trying to tell you, but you are looking at it the wrong way. So in your example of the 25K round russian roulette game... It sounds like you believe that after each time the gun does NOT fire, you prevent the gun from hitting that chamber again, thus increasing your odds of hitting the one with a live bullet. But that's not the way it works. After you miss the bullet, you spin the chamber and try again. So your odds stay the same after every time you pull the trigger, or in this case make a skydive. So you could play this russian roulette game for 3 trillion times, and still NEVER hit the live chamber, or it could just be your lucky day and you hit it the first shot, or the 50th or the 10000th or whatever. ftp.skydivingmovies.com is ONLINE - Readme....
Cornholio replied to Cornholio's topic in The Bonfire
Well, that URL is not online...yet... But PilotDave and I got a mirror setup at my web host at: ftp://ftp.jaffie.com Might work out the web redirect from www.skydivingmovies.com or wait until Dave gets a suitable permanent server. I'm going to try and limit the bandwidth to around 1-2gigs a day for this account, so please take what you're looking for, but don't leech the entire site - not until Dave finds a faster permanent site. So if you can't get in, it probably means the user limit has been reached or daily quota exceeded. I'll be playing around with the user limits and bandwidth over the next few days to get it right. Have fun.... Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
