  1. Learning ALL those languages is surely an unreasonable burden. I think a fair compromise is that all north americans should be forced to learn the native language that was most common in the area they live in. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  2. Your moral superiority is inspiring. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  3. Oooo. This bit is poor phrasing. I wish they'd said, "allow students to jump solo after additional training." The way it's written makes it sound like the only difference between tandem and AFF is you get socked for an extra $100 and you're on your own. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  4. Having a little trouble with that "quality of evidence" question of mine, eh? Edited to add a close tag missing from rushmc's quoted bit. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  5. I guess it was wishful thinking that your responses would become substantive as the day wore on. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  6. That's funny. I thought they were there to support the constitution. How is the U.S. different from a dictatorship again? First Class Citizen Twice Over
  7. I have a question. You have a strong opinion that "man is not the cause". Do you think your evidence that is STRONGER than the evidence for the other side? If so, please explain in what way it's stronger. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  8. If I wanted to sue OPEC too, what court would I file in? Would my local county adjudicator do or should I just walk into the supreme court and hand my plea to John Roberts himself? I'm sure with enough congressional wishmaking they'd all be able to claim jurisdiction, right? Now now. I think we can agree that overreaching and nonsensical legislation is agnostic. 9. HUH??? This is just shy of the silliness of that famous legislative move to change the value of pi to 3. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  10. Oh. Forgive me. I hadn't been notified of the rulemaking change. Now I'm aware that pointing out mathematical errors is only relevant for everyone except you. I'll make a note of that. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  11. Your categorical summarization is so ... so ... AUTHORITATIVE! We're sure lucky to have you here telling us what's effective and what isn't. It saves us the effort of having our own opinions. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  12. Think you'll go for substantive replies later in the day? That's funny. Those of course are your own words. Insubstantial, eh? First Class Citizen Twice Over
  13. You poor man... First Class Citizen Twice Over
  14. There is an obvious cooling dropping period from the 40s to the 70s June through now that occurs while CO2 levels constantly rise during a republican administration. A five year (and probably a ten year) average would show cooling a rise. How is this explained.... other than discounting it being brought up? First Class Citizen Twice Over
  15. You're full of snipes and repetitive face icons this morning. Think you'll go for substantive replies later in the day? Or maybe you're still too busy laughing at injured children. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  16. Whoah! This could be a previously undiscovered Denier position: "There is global warming and it's humanity's fault but blame the yellow people." This seems to be an intermediate step between the previously identified species of "There is global warming but it has nothing to do with humanity" and "There is global warming and it's humanity's fault but it's a good thing." 17. You're right, that is tragically hilarious. But your subject is awful. Come on, quade. Can you make them descriptive, please? First Class Citizen Twice Over
  18. Well actually, you're putting words in my mouth. I never said those things. I know I'm ignorant. I only have an advanced layman's understanding of astrophysics and the related disciplines. I'm not qualified to have an opinion about the "nothing" or the "explosion" or the "becoming organized everything" that you talk about. However, all things considered, your supernatural human-like being sitting in the clouds with a big beard and bad temper strikes me as the sort of thing primitive people concoct because, well, because they're pretty much hopeless at anything more sophisticated and too busy surviving to really sit down and think it through. But the more modern approach is instilling your species' smartest curious members with a decent living and a budget for machinery so they can look around, consider carefully what they see in the universe, and think real hard about what it all means while using those oh-so-handy rules of logic. Then pit them against each other to keep the whole thing honest. The latter seems far more likely to result in truth than trusting a bunch of old storybooks. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  19. Yeah, but in the meantime let's just assume it's magic. First Class Citizen Twice Over

  21. Ah, now it's back on track! Good job. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  22. All of that was obvious to me and I bet it was obvious to a lot of others as well. First Class Citizen Twice Over

  24. In that guy's defense, he DID write this excellent statement near the end of his essay: Unfortunately he draws a very different conclusion from this fine bit of reasoning than I do. First Class Citizen Twice Over
