  1. A cessna 172 1500 feet above Portland suburbs.... In my college library.... in an open topped mustang convertible driving through downtown Seattle during rush hour.... Actually, I'm not sure about the convertible. I was barely able to keep the car on the road with his head between my legs so I didn't have a lot of attention to also look at the other cars' drivers to see if we were noticed. Looking back, we probably were. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  2. If I rely on other people to bring me water, then yes, I should pay for the service. If I can find my own water independently without impacting others' property, then no I should not. First Class Citizen Twice Over

  6. This isn't likely to be much of a problem. The wind is contained within the structure. On the other hand flying your canopy over the TOP of the tower might be unwise. First Class Citizen Twice Over

  8. Go ahead and laugh at the looney bin. I'll bet you his scam is working well. Go ahead and write back to him. Say, "I have your equipment but I can't teleport it to you." He'll respond, "That's ok. Give me your bank account number and I'll deposit the $40k and trust you for the space tools." Then he'll make "woo woo nyuck nyuck waoooei waoooei!!!" sounds. Since he's clearly crazy, why wouldn't you trust him? He's clearly too wacky to plan you any harm, and if he wants to give you his life savings, why not? Except tomorrow morning you'll wake up broke. Jimbo, good question. I completely agree that there are some fantastic beers brewed in America. I live in Portland which is the rebirthplace of the microbrew movement. We have an astounding collection of locally brewed, freshly available ales and literally dozens of comfy, friendly neighborhood brewpubs and pubs to drink them in. This is also an untold hotbed of handcrafted ale and beer hobbyist activity. It's a hoppin' subculture of grain beverage enthusiasm. Yum. I'm disgusted by the mass produced lagers and artificially ale-flavored lagers produced by the megalithic multinational factory conglomerates. They are flat out evil corporations and their chemical swill is vile. First Class Citizen Twice Over

If the oceans and the rivers were running with cold, fresh, commercial american beer... if my kitchen taps ran Miller... if the very rains themselves were coors or bud or henry weinhards.... If all the american commercial beer in the world were free, I would drink my own piss first. First Class Citizen Twice Over

  15. I think their point is that you don't need to pay more attentino so much as you need to know what you're looking for. If you're not aware of what signs indicate right and wrong, you can stare with your eyes propped wide open for twice as long as you did and still end up where you did. On the other hand, someone who knows to follow this line to here and that line to there can do a perfect, confident check in just a few seconds. First Class Citizen Twice Over

  20. Certainly! Without a doubt I'd bail out without hesitation. Or wait a second, no, I'd salvage what I could. Or wait another second. I guess I'd stick with it and hang in tight. Gosh, maybe it's impossible to respond to something so vague. Anyway, good luck with whatever you do about whatever is wrong. First Class Citizen Twice Over
  21. Oh god, it's Herbalife again. This is the business that encourages its flunkies to nail 36"x24" plastic signs on telephone poles that read "Work at home" or "Lose 30 pounds in 30 days" and "Got a computer? Put it to work." It's a major scam that involves buying overpriced diet pills and reselling them or enticing other flunkies to resell them. It's estimated that they nail up several million signs per year. I know I've removed literally tens of thousands of them in my area over the last three years. Now they're infecting dropzone.com too. What a pile of crap! First Class Citizen Twice Over

  24. That would be nice, but I tried to explain why it's not possible. If you have any questions, I'll try to explain further why the nature of the world wide web doesn't provide what's necessary before you can do this. Perhaps if the entire site were converted to java... First Class Citizen Twice Over
