  1. I'd like to add, Pay attention to your spot, and your flight path. Of course this is SOP for ANY wingsuit flight, but the last thing you want to do is miss the airport and have an off-field landing, at night Good choice on using the larger, more docile canopy for the night jumps. Have fun, Blair
  2. Nice one Johnny, ....."this is the best thing invented since pockets..." C-ya Blair
  3. I began my Birdman journey with a Mirage G3 and a 100" bridle. I have just had my container modified(see attachments) after nearly 50 flights. Prior to now I have had several hesitations, some of which resulted in moderate line twists , I expect after seeing the mod on MY container, I will have much cleaner deployments. Undoubtedly, I will still 'slow down' before deployment, just as BIRDMAN recommends with an elliptical canopy. Ideally I'd have a dedicated rig with a semi-square canopy (Sabre2, Saffire2), but my Vengence opens nice and straight as long as I pay attention
  4. I'm in for a DVD please. Thanks Blair
  5. YO! We have a couple of birds at Skydive Carolina, just south of Charlotte, NC, and the flock is growing. We are having 2 CASAs this weekend, with O2, so we can flock from 16K, why don't you head down and teach us young birds a thing or 2??? Blair
  6. On my old canopy, saffire189 (1.24) I was much more effiecient with rear risers (brakes unstowed). Now I'm on a Vengence 150 (1.56) and I come out of the sky with rears, so I've been using 3/4 brakes and make it back no problem. I prefer this method if for no other reason than it seems to take much less effort, leaving all that strength in reserve for a powerful swoop. I guess my preferred method for making it back will always be my GTI though Thanks Blair
  7. Sweet dude!! I'll be there with cameras rolling to capture the epic carnage, look me up when you get in..1st beers on me. Later Blair
  8. Nice vid dude....looks like Amish tried to take you out on the hill of the otter in one video....What's he got like 1000 jumps now. Really nice work man, definately the bomb diggity yo! C-ya Blair
  9. C'mon Sunnydee!!!!! This is my home DZ, we'd love to have you and THE MAN anytime, no need to be a bytch that weekend, we'll have the shizzle for rizzle!!!! 2 Casas, free camping, free organizing, costume party, food, beer, vibes, and we promise not to fake you into body shots this time Seriously trying to get Kev922 and Pyke to come in as well, just like old times eh'?!?! Or if y'all just can't make it then, come anytime, I have an extra room at my place less than 30minutes from the DZ, I'd love to have y'all for a weekend to show you around the DZ and the area in general in case you decide to relocate. Lemme know if I can help, C-ya Blair
  10. D'oh!! I thought you were trying to decide between a 110/120 and a PC5 or something. I'd go with the 110 over the 120 right now just for $$$ sake, but I know the 120 is supposed to have even better video res. than the 110, which I am very pleased with already. Sorry for the confusion, I'd like to hear from anyone who has both the 110 and 120, are the size/shape similar enough to be able to use the same dbox/mounts etc for each the 110 and 120 without modifications??? Thanks Blair
  11. Just wanted to echo my thanks to all involved, I had a blast!! My highlights included my first Bridge Day jump, first diving board jump, but mostly watching the gleam in all the first timers eyes! I really enjoyed working the exit point from 9-11, thanks JASON!!!! It was a pleasure to meet everyone, wish I could've met more dot commers, maybe next time. Even after Bridge Day the festivities continued as I was able to make a couple of jumps off some local objects with some VERY nice folks who are in the manufacturing side of the BASE industry, you know who you are and thanks again for visiting the Carolinas, come back anytime. Looking forward to seeing ALL of you real soon at an exit point near you. Later Blair

As long as its below 300ft that is. I still climb all the way to 400ft but lazyboy i am.. Yea, he just does a hop-n-pop from 400', lands on the basket at 180' where he dropped off his second rig on the way up, and then does a low freefall to the ground from the 180' basket Now we just have to teach him the McConkey so he doesn't have to climb down with an unpacked rig from 180'. hahahahah C-ya Blair

Congrats Faber, I know you've worked very hard for this, and I continue to enjoy hearing about your adventures. Keep going hard, we'll meet at an exit point one day. Well done! Blair BASE 700
  16. I initiate deployment (throw out the PC) around 4500' with a GTI, Vengence 150 loaded at 1.6. I DO NOT pull in full flight with my current setup, instead I go into my pull position at 5grand and 'slow down' until throw time. I would like to be throwing right out of full flight, as this is the technique I need to master before BASE flying, but with my current container, (still haven't done the damn mod), I usually get a nice PC hesi, followed my massive line twists, induced by me of course, when I pull from full flight. Anyways, I've just found this technique to work really well for me, albeit not ideal for my end goals, but I'm working on getting a tamer main, and of course, fixing my G3 to have more open corners. Incidentally, I have a contact at Mirage who just emailed me the 'latest' G3 mod last week, its more aggressive than the past ones, and makes more sense to me now so I'll definitely have it done. Your mileage may vary, Later Blair
  17. Deepest condolences from the SOB's in the Carolinas. Prayers and vibes for all the family and friends. Blair
  18. Hey Gimp, If I could add one thing, it'd be to work on front float style exits once your'e ready (assuming your'e jumping the otter). Reason being is if you hang out on the camera step, you usually get the back of their head/rig...MY favorite money shot is the one when they first step out, your underneath them and you get the plane, TM, and the passenger right in your face..that o $hit look on the passenger's face is PRICELESS. This is a more advanced exit than rear, but I'm telling you it can make all the difference in the world regarding a good vid vs. a great vid. Plus after exit you have much less separation, when done right. I have, however, had some REALLY good TM's that can position that shot for you if you are exiting from the step....only time I'm back there now is if they are going to cut a few backloops right out the door. Have fun, be safe. Later Blair O, I'm at (real) work so I can't post a pic of the exit shot mentioned above, but if you still jump at Raeford, you have some of the BEST at your disposal, shadow some of them and see what they're doing.
  19. Dude, Not at all....it was one of the BEST nights of my life...I got video too Emerald Coast rocks, the gals on the beach practically tackle you when you land, if I didn't know better I'd have thought it was my handsome looks, now I know she was just drawn to the NYLON CRACK I was wearing I've travelled quite abit both stateside and abroad, and she was without a doubt, a GODDESS Later Blair
  20. Yea, what Steve said.. Plus, I've only done a couple of canopy flybys, and the best one so far was with a dude jumping a Stiletto 107, don't know about the WL, but 'he thinks' we can get much closer, that's not my point though... Everytime I see this guy at the DZ, he's like "cmon man, I'm dumping high on this one, buzz me buzz me..." Its funny because he's one of the best AFF Instructor/Riggers we have there. I think there is fun to be had on both sides. But like they said above, this needs to be planned and executed by expert skydivers and wingsuit pilots...hence why I haven't tried it anymore...I have much to learn on my own for now. Later Blair
  21. Hey man, If I can give you a piece of advice, watch out for the girls from LA, they are fast movers and rather loose...o and that's not Cali....that's Lower Alabama In the words of the immortal scarface..."yo, she got big cans yo...." Seriously, some of my most memorable flights to date are cruising out at max speed over the Gulf of Mexico....Enjoy!
  22. Don't worry Kev, I'll hold 'em you hit 'em in WVA in a couple of weeks......hehehehehehehheh Keep up the good work, we're still fledgling birdies working out on GTI's ...but we got some skills Later Blair
