  1. I thought that the mini's strength was 3500 lbs. I am curious if any other "Big Boys" have had a cut away from a spining mal? As I understand that under the increased G's in can get really difficult with the Mini's. Bill Booth said that mini's were harder to make properly several years ago. Have they got them down now so that they are more reliable. ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  2. I would like to get Mini 3 rings and louie loops. My question is at an exit weight of 245 lbs. would this be wise? Are there any louie loop risers for standard 3-rings? I know a rigger can make them but I'd rather just buy them pre-made. I've read over some older posts on this and there seems at that time no definitive answer. I was hoping for any new information or personal exp. from someone in the know. ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  3. I was a helicopter!!! For me picking a spot on the ground a couple of miles out and focusing on it worked. I just tried to maintain heading on that spot. I forgot about everything else (except alt.) and finally relaxed over the next couple of jumps. ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  4. If your canopy has packing tabs on it then when you lay it down to start grab all 9 tabs on the front left hand and back in Rt. hand lay it down like a flat pack. This will take all of 30 seconds. then go back to your rig and run the lines. When you get to the canopy everythings neat and in order your almost done already. This method works for me. 5. I'm a big guy all I had too do on my PD230 was slam either toggle down while in full flight and there she goes. If you really want to do this and be able to recognize whats happening,(The point for practicing this anyway) then at a very high alt. half toggle right then release rt. toggle and slam the left one down all the way. Watch the canopy as you do this and release tension as soon as it starts to twist. If doing this two things happen. 1 you learn to feel it starting which can save your ass. 2 It's a hell of alot of fun. Be careful not to let it get away from you though. GoodLuck ATTACK LIFE ! 6. 3.5 GPA buy her the first jump as the loving parent. let her earn the money for the rest working at the DZ dont forget to pay her to pack your rig too. Great that she has done some reading but I'd get the first jump in the bag and see if it is something she even wants to continue before overloading her with things. JMHO. ATTACK LIFE ! 7. If you end up with the Galaxy I had mine mounted on the back of my left glove directly. I prefer fingerless gloves for this. not in the way never moved didn't even feel it. ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  8. extra large gear bag from a scuba shop. Carry everything including your unpacked rig. I did it for years. ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  9. Zero Porosity WHO? Elliptical WHAT? those skinny little lines are How strong? ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  10. Don't do it!!! The only thing that will happen is that you brain will be consumrd with jumping out of friggen airplanes. Then on top of that you'll go almost totally broke buying that shiney new gear. Your life is going to change. Blue Skies ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  11. Had mine altered by a taylor worked out great. Get the sellers measurements if the suit is alittle big in all areas then it really shouldn"t be a problem. If it's tight in the butt then I'd pass and keep looking. ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  12. I work in medicine and listen to everyone GO TO AN E.N.T. now. It could be as simple as a sinus problem or an actual inner ear problem. As someone who ruptured an ear drum going off of a high dive board thats not something you want. Trust Me!!!! Most likely it will be something simple and the fix will probebly help with the Motion sickness. Do not jump again until you have gotten the all clear from an E.N.T. and goodluck. ATTACK LIFE ! 13. Not concearned with weight gain for wingloading reasons. If your jumping while your gaining the weight you skills and wgt. gain will all go up at the same time :) It is more of a fallrate concearn for me, since I am already a fat ass.excuse me have a built in arch ATTACK LIFE ! 14. I went from large canopies to a wingloading of 1.15 at 50 jumps. My landings were better. Faster approach speed (but not crazy) and a more powerful flare. You should be fine on a 190 but I agree put a few jumps on the 210 first. You may love the 210 and want to stay there. It's about what your comfortable with not what everyone else is doing that counts!!!!Goodluck Blue Skies ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  15. Yes heavier people fall faster if all things are equal. Heavier people usually wear loser jumpsuits and flatten out alittle(get big) to slow down some. Skinny people wear skin tight suits get really small (extremities in closer to body) and sometimes wear weighted vests to increase fall rate. The idea is for the little people to fall faster the big people to fall slower and the average people to fall normally so everyone meets in the middle and can match the fall rate. As far as arching goes use a swiss ball or a big stack of pillows on the floor. Lay on them back down and relax. this streching will over a short period af time will increase you flexibility. I would start with 15 minutes a day you will notice a differance and it will help your posture also. This is best to do after a couple sets of sit-ups and cruntches so that that antogonist muscles ( the rectus abdominals and psoas) are warmed and ready to be streched. Hope this makes sense and helps. ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  16. I had alot of the same feelings as you. No fear No adrenelin just noise and wind. Then opening WOW that shit hurt. didn't have legs straps tight enough or positioned properly after sitting in plane. Thought that I would at least complete my tandem jumps and see if it got better. 2nd was alittle better 3rd even better 4th great then on to AFF for 4 jumps now the fun starts. keep with it you'll be glad you did trust me. Do another tandem and I'd bet it will be a much better and enjoyable experience. ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  17. True Dat. I really hope we all use our heads and save ourselves, but just in case as soon as funds permit I will be ordering a custom Vector with skyhook and cypres II. Last rig was a Vector first rig was a Wonderhog. Loved them both!! Hey Bill Booth how bout a perminant demo?(Black and Neon Green please) ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  18. Thats what im refering to. as i see it the Skyhook system is nothing but a fancy RSL with a collins lanyard. once the cutaway is initiated the collins lanyard releases the left riser if it hasn't already then the RSL portion pulls (IN skyhooks case the freebag bridle) the pin. It's at least to me clear in the harness part of the video how the C.L. works and the rest of the video how the main becomes the pilot chute. Easier said than typed!!! ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  19. I agree watch the vid on UPT's website. Pay careful attention to the part with guy suspended in hanging harness and Bill Booth cutting him away to show how the skyhook works. That video if watched a couple of times will answer your questions as to how Skyhook works. It did for me. I think it will save alot of lives, as long as people think like the old days. THE ONLY THING SAVING YOUR LIFE IS YOU! Backup systems are great as long as there only for backup. ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  20. Coming back after far too many years! Anyone know a jumper named Simon Bitton? Know where Bill and Kate Jones are?(previously owned Air Adventures Clewiston Fl.) It would be nice to get back with some old friends and some new ones. thanks!! ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  21. Definately starting back SLOW, I love this sport and unfortunately circumstances have kept me away more often than not. Trying to change that and have good SAFE fun. thanks everyone for the advice, much appreciated. See ya at 14000 ft. ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  22. looks like the 209 safire 2 is it. 1.17 to 1 wingloading thanks for the advice!! ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  23. Cool. I guess more performance for toggle turns, full stalls etc. From what I've read with more lift I should have good landings if I stay at my previous wingloading or below. correct? ( no interest in swooping at least not for a couple of hundred jumps) safety is a major concearn. I'll also be getting a V3 with Skyhook. Previous rig was a vector and never had any issues. Thanks!!!!! ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
  24. I haven't jumped in 8 years. I will be doing refresher training to get current and comfortable again. Most of my jumps are on a PD 9 cell loaded at 1.15 I am looking into the Saffire 2 loaded at 1.3 after my 10 - 15 refresher jumps. Does this sound like a reasonable route to take? I WAS a pretty decent pilot before; fairly accurate, front riser dives to landing, etc. thanks for any input!! ATTACK LIFE ! IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU ANYWAY!!!!
