right, exactly, and we all have to pull - on every jump. Being comfortable and stable on your belly, means being comfortable and stable at pull time. "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

What flyangel2 said. As for the cost of gear coming into the equation, that doesn't factor in my decision making. If i can't land my main, it's going whether i ever see it again or not. Life is more precious to me than whatever the financial costs involved in chopping gear and damaging demo equipment may be. "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

good one thanks. Any others like this, anyone? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

i have my sit down, and can rotate to face whichever heading i choose as well as transition from a stand to a sit and back. Any advice on what to do next that would form part of a natural and safe progression route? Thanks "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

how do you orbit in close proximity to someone/a group?

thanks guys thats some good advice -
who has actually made serious $$$ from skydiving?

sounds like chuteless is the only blinger out there. There has to be atleast one more skydiver out there right now chilling in his/her mountain cabin with a bottle of iced Krug next to them, sat in the jacuzzi, logged onto dz.com while watching the game/soaps on a 60" plasma screen, while their packer is earning a few extra $ by polishing the Ferrari in the driveway? im sick of hearing about skydivers living in dog kennels and eating noodles in front of a cardboard box because they cant afford a tv. Someone tell me which skydivers - or those in the skydiving industry - are blinging, to give me some inspiration later, while im waiting for the kettle to boil for my 3rd run of ramen today. Use your eyes more than your legs. thanks, can you elaborate on that somewhat? Obviosuly i gave too much input with my legs the one time i tried this, but how do i orbit, rather than going out to the side, forward, out to the side, forward etc etc etc. How do you actually "circle" someone smoothly? if i learn to fly a suit in the US can i then jump one in the UK?

thanks just out of curiousity, what sort of skills would you be looking for on that skydive? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts -

It's funny you should say that Gus, but the BPA have just issued some guidelines (i.e. not rules, but recommendations for CCIs and new jumpers): Form 235 - Guidelines for jumping a wingsuit (fixed) Section 2 (Qualifications and Prepartion) c. says: hi Craig - does this mean that if i have 200 jumps, and then have had instruction from you or some other BMI in the UK, i can then fly a wingsuit? Or does the 200 jumps minimum equate to 200 jumps within an 18 month period? Obviously all subject to CCI approval of course... "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts -
how do you orbit in close proximity to someone/a group?
Newbie replied to Newbie's topic in Relative Work
i haven't really tried this apart from on one jump, where i did a combination of a sideslide and used leg input to drive me forward, but i went off to the side too fast (too much side input) and then drove straight past my partner behind him about 5 metres (too much leg input). I'm interested to know though how experienced orbiters can move around someone in very close proximity though. Any ideas? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts -
who are those guys? I've never heard of them before. Got any links or anything? Thanks "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

yeah i thought thats something you might be able to do, although forcing a downplane isn't something i've heard anyone advising. How would you force it in a side by side? If the main was on the right, grab right rear riser of main and left rear riser of reserve and pull down lightly to put them into opposing turns etc? Would that work? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

Perhaps - my line of thinking was if this happened super low, should you cutaway as the resulting energy created by the cutaway and the pendulum effect maybe greater than the force of the start of a downplane? I need to know, maybe i should cross post to CReW? Where's Kallend when you need him? "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

lots of things shouldnt happen in the first place, but they do as we all know, i'm trying to understand what would be a good way to live and escape with minimum injury if i or anyone is in this situation. I know to cutaway a side by side when it starts to downplane, but i was just wondering what was the worst case scenario in this pretty unlikely although not unprobably situation - would the resulting pendulum movement of cutting away a main thats starting to downplane at sub 50ft be worse than riding that last few feet down as it progresses to downplane? Calling people who have had lots of Cutaways

hi Bill i was just curious about something - why did you use the reserve and not the main, on the jump where you said you cutaway the reserve and then went to main? Thanks "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts -
mes sentiments exactement! "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

Is it? Try making one of those jokes you mentioned with a black guy or girl you don't know present and see what they think? Sure friends can laugh at each other, but that's why they are friends. Strangers might feel differently, hence the response of some on here. Best way to be, i'm the same, but others aren't and i can understand why. Like i said, that's cool, and yeah you have to be able to laugh at yourself, but when you make a comment to people on here that don't know you, they will take offence to sweeping comments based on stereotypes, even if you are joking.
