*** I remember Elvis & The Beatles... didn't see the Stones on Ed, must have been watching Bonanza that night! ______________________________________ The Summer of 64', the Stones introduced their first U.S. release; 'Tell Me' and their first album... 'The Rolling Stones'. That fall, they were on the Sullivan show. What amazed me was... my dad liked them! I had always wanted to see them 'live' but, could never afford tickets. My wife, got tickets for their 'Bridges to Babylon' tour when they were in Ft. Worth. I was mesmerized! The Dave Matthews Band' and a couple other bands came-out first. You could tell the difference in 'crowds'. Over the Stones fans was a cloud of smoke (hee, hee). Not much has changed! Chuck

___________________________________ I've heard 'rumors' of that here, too! I've heard many stories too, some good... some not so good about some of the workers. A good friend of mine, told of 5, such workers who had a little too much tequila one Saturday night. They got to fighting amongst themselves and tore the 'wet shack' up, pretty good. The next day, they had to repair the damages. When they were done, they got loaded-up and taken back to town. One of the ol' boys had an old pistol and my friends daddy had to take it from him. These five 'workers' got traded for new help. The one who had the pistol went to jail for a while. Like I say, all kinds of stories. Chuck

Any of the old timers I've talked with in this area, seemed to like the idea. Chuck

I could tell more stories of incredibly wonderful experiences in small towns in this country. From the East Coast to the West and all in-between. I'll save you from that. I'm sorry to hear of your Mom's illness yet, glad she lives in a small town where folks care and show it. I'll say some prayers for her. Chuck

Years ago, there was a system called the 'Bracero System' where green carded workers met at a central location and farmers could come pick-up as many workers as needed. After the harvest, the workers were returned and went back to Mexico. The farmer had to supply decent shelter where meals could be prepared and toilet facilities. The system worked rather well until it was done away with. Chuck

____________________________________ Wasn't something like this, recently suggested by one of or Senators or some politician? I'm wracking my head, trying to remember who it was. He suggested something abou allowing illegals to join the military, serve a min. 3-yrs. and then, they would be allowed an 'easy ride' to citizenship. Chuck

How cool! Many 'extras' became big name stars. You could be on your way to bigger things! Chuck -
Oh yeah! No arguement there! Hasek was un-believable when he played with Buffalo. I just get a kick out of him. How he does what he does, with his 'style' of play is un-real. He has been effective! I do think, he's passed his prime. Heck... just wear the jersey! Chuck

Sabres, and Hasek CReW Skies, ____________________________________ Sabres - Hasek? Oh NO! I get a kick outa Hasek! He tries to pass himself off as a helluva goalie. Sure, he was... years ago. His groin seems to get in the way. Especially when, the team he's on starts losing. Put some tape over the name and wear it! Or, if you can, remove the name. Then, there's his famous speech he's given whenever a team 'picks him up'. I vant to play for da (team name here_________) because I vant to vin da CUP! He gave that speech for the Sabres, Red Wings, Senators and the Czech Olympic team! He just changed 'CUP' to 'Gold Medal'! He's funny! Whatever you do... enjoy the game!!! Chuck

Wear it! Shows team support. I see folks in the stands at various games who wear team jerseys of players who have long passed but were 'big' for that team. Beats the hell outa some guy painting his beer-gut team colors and not wearing a shirt! Chuck

__________________________________ Wha'? You an' Walt gonna play grab-ass or do you want pointers in regard to your SO's turning 40? Aw hell, keep doin' what you're doin'. It's more fun than discussing the aging process! Besides... it's just another day. Get him a present and give it to him over a nice dinner for two. Maybe a fancy restaurant like Cheddars or KFC. ___________________________________ That's what I'm getting at. Our founding 'fathers', said it but, with a bit of thought behind what they said. They took responsibility (boy, did they!) for what and how they said something. Now days, folks just say things but aren't willing to accept the consequences for what they say and use disguises like 'art' or 'freedom of speech'. Everybody wants respect but not too many are willing to 'earn' it. I am by no means saying, that our freedom of speech be taken away or controlled in any way. Just be ready to have to back-up what you say. I think, we're on the same 'plane'. Chuck Chuck
