  1. Things like that have been tried in the past. Several years ago, the Border Patrol 'held' a seminar and a chance to win an exotic vacation directed at those of Mexican heritage. Agents wore flowerdy shirts and leis, really looking the part! They were able to apprehend several hundred. The FBI and DEA, have held simila 'functions' and mailed-out 'invitations' to wanted persons. The bait may have been trips to the Super Bowl or vacation trips to Hawaii or the like. Everyone is wise to that now. Chuck
  2. Thus you see a lot of demonstrations happening at schools (since children of recent immigrants are more likely to be citizens.) ____________________________________________ We've been seeing protests here locally of mostly school aged kids. Many have been charged with 'truancy'. If, they have 'written permission' from their parents, they can miss '1' day of school for their purpose. I find this rather interesting. Chuck
  3. _______________________________________ I think, we kinda' tried, by building auto plants in Mexico and other plants. Not to mention the produce we buy from Mexico. I think, that's o.k. BUT, Mexico 'expects' us to pick-up all their slack. We've basically ignored our Southwest border for so long that, it's gotten to the point of 'no return'. Now, the illegals from Mexico, Central America and South America have sizeable numbers in this country, to where it would be nigh onto impossible to gather them and send them back... and they know it. What gets me is, the majority of the folks protesting in our streets, over the up-coming immigration bill... are illegal! The illegals flaunt the fact in our faces and almost 'dare' us to do something about them. Chuck

  5. WOW! She's really a fast typist! Chuck
  6. ____________________________________ They teach you how to avoid them. Doing about 180-mph. and hitting a curb is rought on tires and front-ends. At least you didn't say sidewalks!!! Chuck
  7. My car wont go 180 _________________________________ Maybe not... NASCAR will have one for you that will! Right now, there's no women drivers, that I know of in the Busch series or Nextel series. There's one woman driver in the truck series! Just a thought. Chuck
  8. Have you ever considered a career with NASCAR? They tail-gate at about 180-mph! Chuck
  9. Kathleen has the video so she can get it burned to a DVD today, but as soon as I get it back, I'll make a short version and see if I can get a couple of clean frame captures from it to post! She really nailed it yesterday!!! I was pretty much just a spectator, but damn--it was really something to see and I would absolutely love to share it!
  10. ____________________________ Yeah! I wuz talkin' wit Vinnie an' Louie... yeah! Dey took care o' dat guy! He won't be talkin' about nobody's weight no more! Chuck
  11. Actually, it was really cool for me having the privilege of being there. She had to do some swooping and docking and a redock to finish off her license. She is a lightweight so her fall rate is a bit slower than most. We put a weight vest with about 10 lbs on her and planned the exit and dive. Shit, you should have seen her!!!!! We exited and I flew a fair distance behind her and hung out waiting for her to swoop down and over to me. To say the least, she didn't waste any time. This was a woman on a mission! She flew in clean, let go, backed out, and redocked again. This was not a matter of a few feet, either. We both backed up when she let go, so she had to cover at least 20 to 30 feet. She zoomed right in, stopped on a dime and grabbed my wrists so cleanly, I was absolutely amazed. After that we let go again and I backed way the hell down and out. No problem for Kathleen! Once again, she flew right in for a clean dock. I was shooting video, so we got positive proof that she DESERVES that license. She needed to clean up her tracking a little bit, so we worked on that on the ground, went up and I shot video of her tracking. Man, she *nailed* it!!!! She had a good day, and as I said it was a privilege to be there to see it.
  12. How cool! Congratulations! How lucky for you, to have someone like Walt to help you. WOW! Chuck
  13. Little birdie in the sky, Drop some 'white-wash' in my eye, Gee, I'm glad that cows don't fly! Chuck
  14. I'd also, have to agree with you. Too many folks concern themselves with themselves. Making a lot of money with little or no effort. (I guess, there's nothing totally wrong with that... if, you can swing it.) Folks want it 'now'. I don't care what it is... they want it now! I think too, a lot of people are driven by greed. Those folks marching in the streets are no different. When I hear (I heard an illegal woman say this on our local news.) illegals flatly stating that, they are illegal and should be allowed to stay here simply because 'of all they had to endure to get here', is bull-shit to the enth degree! Those illegals are slapping the faces of the people who went through the 'system' to become 'legal' citizens of this country. The illegals feel they are 'entitled' to everything this country has to offer simply because they walked across a desert or waded a river and walked countless miles. They flaunt the fact they are here and almost 'dare' us to round them up and ship them back. The damned 'bleeding hearts' out there who side with them need to get their facts straight. This country just can no longer handle the influx of tens of thousands of them that swarm into this country. They know too, they get enough over here... who's going to send them back. They are mocking us, our government. The Border Patrol missed a good opportunity to round them up, when they marched in L.A. and other cities in the U.S. Chuck

  17. I know more foreigners who are interested in the way this country is run that actual Americans. Sorry, but I think your logic is seriously flawed and downright wrong. Personally I am always blown away by the general apathy of the average American. Hell people hardly even vote and I know more than a few who, when they do vote, vote for a party because they 'think they are ' without any research. Blues. Ian _____________________________________ Your statement is rather vague! You mention 'foreigners'. Are you referring to those people from other countries who went through the process and became citizens or those who crossed the border illegally. Those from Central America and Mexico average about a 3rd. grade education. They don't care about the way our country is 'run'. All they care about is what is here for them. Once they are 'established' here, then, it's how to get the rest of their cousins and uncles here. Those folks who go through the process of getting citizenship... sure, they are interested in our government. Chuck
  18. __________________________________ I read an interesting article in the newspaper the other day where, 'street gang' members have joined our military so as to smuggle guns and other weapons back to their gang. Also, this past Thursday evening, our town held a 'round table' discussion in regard to 'securing our borders'. On that 'round table' were; CNN news anchor Randi Kaye (moderator), The Sheriff of Webb County Texas, Chief David V. Aguilar of the U.S. Border Patrol and Assistant Secretary of State for Homeland Security Susan Burk. Daniel Benjamin, Chief U.S. Customs inspector in El Paso Belen Robles. Also, in attendance were about 1,000 people. Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol Aguilar stated that; Out of 1.1 million illegal immigrants, 145,000 criminals crossed into the United States through ports of entry, last year. Along with that came 1.3 million pounds of drugs. Into this chaotic , cluttered situation came people looking to harm our democracy!" Chief Aguilar is in charge of 12,000 Border Patrol Agents covering 4,000 miles of U.S. - Canadian border and 2,000 miles of U.S. - Mexico border. This country admits 319,000 people a year through it's ports of entry, 89 million at seaports and 280 million at airports. Aguilar also stated that; "We did not get here overnight. Our borders were ignored for a very long time." Chuck

  20. ____________________________________ Oh, I understand that. I just threw that in because what you said reminded me of that. It wasn't eggs but I did basically the same thing once. Had to throw it out... with the pan! Something like that will really make you mad at the time. Chuck

  25. *** I remember Elvis & The Beatles... didn't see the Stones on Ed, must have been watching Bonanza that night! ______________________________________ The Summer of 64', the Stones introduced their first U.S. release; 'Tell Me' and their first album... 'The Rolling Stones'. That fall, they were on the Sullivan show. What amazed me was... my dad liked them! I had always wanted to see them 'live' but, could never afford tickets. My wife, got tickets for their 'Bridges to Babylon' tour when they were in Ft. Worth. I was mesmerized! The Dave Matthews Band' and a couple other bands came-out first. You could tell the difference in 'crowds'. Over the Stones fans was a cloud of smoke (hee, hee). Not much has changed! Chuck I went to school with Bill Wyman, original bassist.... First encountered the band in 1961 when they played clubs and pubs in south London. I admit to being old. _________________________________________ Just how damned cool was that!? You lucky son of a gun! Bill seems to have a fondness for 'young' girls. That is, according to his book; 'Stone Alone'. It's amazing to me, out of all the groups that came out of the 60's, the Stones have lasted the longest. I never understood where anyone got the idea they were 'dirty' or grungy... just because they didn't dress the same and showed individuality. Chuck
