____________________________ She's sucha tease!!! By the way, it's 'Slappie'! (Slappie's gonna kick my ass if, he reads this!) Chuck

They cover a lot of history in the sport. Our DZO had one of the very first issues and since. Can you imagine Parachutist in black and white? Belly warts and rounds as the 'big thing'? Big ol' thick lace-up leather jump boots? Balloon suits? Bell helmets? This sport has come a long way in a relatively short time. Chuck

I've got Parachutist from 1988. I've gone back through some of them and compared to today... what a difference. Chuck

You're startin' to sound a lot like Slappie! Chuck

__________________________________________ What about the folks who live along the Rio Grande? How, are you going to move that without anyone noticing? Chuck As shallow as it is anymore, you could just about dig a deeper channel with your heel!! ____________________________________________ A little over a year ago, we got a lot of rain and you could actually see water frthe 'high bridge'. Even the Pecos was running! Now, we're right back where we were... dry. That is a true story about making it deeper with your heel... hell, you wouldn't even get your Tony Lama's damp! Chuck

There's an original thought. You should copyright it before anyone else uses it. ____________________________________ I don't know if, that slogan has been copyrighted or not but, my instructor for my concealed Carry permit used it a couple times during the class. Chuck Sorry, I forgot the icon. _________________________ Oh, I caught the sarcasm. I think, we've both heard that catchy little phrase, more than once. No apology necessary. Chuck

*** YUP! An a far better insight about who & what, Ali the 'MAN' is... Came to me when I understood, at least in part, what it took for him to STAND by his convictions concerning Vietnam. His stand, though unpopular and quite 'costly' to him both personally and professionally, was True, Solid and Heartfelt. He'd say what he'd do...and do what he said. His skills in the ring speak for themselves, his integrity can never be questioned... He raised the 'bar' beyond what professional athletes before or after his time could ever hope to reach. That's why he IS "The Greatest" _____________________________________ Amen! Chuck

at 35, will i like liver? at 40, will broccoli appreciation occur? ______________________________ That's just about the ages you start realizing that Mickey - D's, isn't good for you and the roughage from the broccoli is better and the liver is good for your 'iron poor' blood! BUT, a slice of pizza is still good... no matter what! Chuck

Ya know, the sad thing is, if this WAS a story about Jack Johnson the singer and his "struggles" to make it in the music industry, it would probably get alot more response. Too right. You'd have all the vapid little teeny boppers in here fawning over him. or something like that. Jack Johnson was a badass. _______________________________________ Good Lord! I'm not ready to deal with the 'Tiger Beat' crowd! Chuck

Just a thought... I wonder, what would happen to any of us if, we were to sneak across the border INTO Mexico and make all the demands their 'illegals' make on us, make them learn English, drive with no liability insurance, and all the other things illegals pull in this country and see just what would happen! Chuck

Seems like, I've been hearing both sides as you mentioned, all my life. You make a very good point. Chuck

Well, back to the point I made before JR went off on a tack about cars, it's all about common sense (or the lack thereof). The BEST thing that responsible gun owners can do to avoid having their rights trampled is to figure out how to prevent irresponsible people from killing themselves and others with guns. Comparisons with road or bathtub fatalities are silly and irrelevant. _____________________________________ I couldn't agree more! These statusticians and idiots who throw-out all their twisted information in regards to guns drive me nuts. You nailed the problem and that is where responsible gun owners need to center their efforts, exactly! Good going! Now, how do we convince 'anti' gun folks that? Chuck

In my life-time, it's been Cassius Clay/Muhammed Ali! What a boxer and again, another story. Alot of folks didn't like his 'mouth' but, the guy was a showman. The supposed fued with Howard Cosell, was just a part of the 'show'. To me, Ali, was the 'greatest'. Chuck

It's like the ol' boy said; "I wanna see, the gun that got-up outa that dresser drawer and killed that guy!" It's not the gun's fault that some idiot picks it up and kills another human. Juggling all the statistics to help someone's cause doesn't work either. I don't care how you slice it. Bad guys are going to have guns and the innocent gun owner is going to pay the price. Chuck

There's a lot of information, left-out of this story. What struck me was the fact it was on I-95, a North-South route. The van had Florida plates. A lot of drugs move along that stretch of road, out of Florida. Also, it was early in the morning, about 3:30. I don't think, those bikers had a whole lot of energy and were looking for a fight. Sounds like someone in the van got 'trigger happy'. Personally, I need more information before I make-up my mind. Just because those bikers have aquired a bad reputation, to pre-judge them is to make a generalization. It's not fair to the bikers. Just my thoughts. For the heck of it, The 'original' Hell's angels were formed by former U.S. Army Air Corps pilots, in California. Their intent, originally was to be a club of folks who liked riding motorcycles. They held a lot of motorcycle 'contests'. There was an 'incident' in Hollister, California, when they rode through and took a rest stop. A newspaper reporter had one of the bikers lean against a pole and had other bikers pile-up empty beer bottles around his feet. That picture made it to Life magazine and the reputation of the Hell's Angels, was born. The Angels, kinda 'promoted' themselves also, after that. The movie, 'Wild One's', with Marlon Brando, added fuel to the fire. Chuck

Corbett, never boxed Johnson. Corbett, lost his title to James J. Jeffries, Corbett's former sparring partner, after 26-rounds. Corbett, returned to the Broadway stage after the second fight he lost to Jeffries. I checked it out. Corbett, almost lost his boxing license after breaking a cowboy's jaw in a Denver saloon. Corbett, claimed it was self defense and continued boxing. Chuck Chuck

I recall my Granddad, talk about Jack Johnson. If, I'm not mistaken, 'Gentleman' Jim Corbett, turned-down a chance at fighting Johnson. I'm going to do some checking on that. Chuck

The guy is a dumbass! Your avatar? Nice! Chuck

I think, the best pitch thrown by a 'celeb' on opening day, was Tom Selleck! I don't think Bush did all that bad. The catcher was able to catch the ball. Well, he did have to get out of his crouch and really reach for it. Chuck

Well deserved on your part. Did anyone tell you? It just gets better. I'm really proud for you! I've thoroughly enjoyed meeting people like you, too. Keep-up the good work! Chuck

_____________________________________ I couldn't agree more! I've been saying that, all along. Mexico needs to get of their collective dead asses and fix their country and quit waiting for us to 'fix' them. The same with Central America. Now, we're overrun with what Mexico doesn't want. The poor, the sick and the criminals. edit to add: Just heard on our local news where, the illegals in this country want to hold a 'boycott' on May 1, 2006. All their kids are to stay home from school, none of the parents are to go to work on that day or shop or do anything. They are trying to show us how 'necessary and important' they are to our economy. My thoughts are; let 'em! On May o2, 2006, they'd be out of a job! Chuck

Looks like 'Political Correctness' has spread! We are so afraid to hurt someone's feelings that we have had to forget our own feelings. I'm pretty tired of it. We have neglected our borders for so long and now, we are paying the price. Here in the town I live in, they are planning a 'super' highway through Mexico to ports on the Pacific. Well, DUH! That's like telling the illegals and drug runners; 'Hey! We built this sooper-dooper highway to make it easier for you!' NAFTA hasn't done a bit of good here on our Southwest border. Chuck
