Dixie Chicks - The Return To The Scene Of The Crime
masterrig replied to Keith's topic in Speakers Corner
___________________________________ That's probably why, we bear the title; 'Ugly Americans'. I like the 'Chicks' music. Like I said before, that little fat one needs to shut-up. Chuck -
Exactly. This discussion talks about flushing dope. What about giving the pep time to pick up his/her gun when they anounce they are coming? _________________________________ I agree! Things have to happen fast if, the police are going to be able to do something. It all strikes me as the courts are saying; 'The bad guys get a 20-second head start. You, the police, must wait 20-seconds while the bad guys get away and or destroy evidence.' Chuck

Many instances of cops hitting the WRONG house. If I'm sitting there cleaning the Glock or it's next to me and someone kicks in the door w/ a NO KNOCK people are gonna get killed. Maybe me, maybe them. It's just not right. Fuck some drugs. Are they worth peoples lives? __________________________________ Yes, it has happened, where the wrong house was raided. Law enforcement goes on the information given to them. Unfortunately, mistakes are made. Those times are hard on the cops too. They don't like it either. I'm not advocating a 'No Knock', either. We can 'if' and 'suppose', all day. I just get tired of the crime going on around me. I've been both in law enforcement as well as a crime victim. I get tired of seeing criminals 'walk' because our prisons are too full. Also, I'm not saying that cops can blatantly kick-in doors with no warning. I'm just saying that the scales have been tipped in favor of the criminal too long. It's not a perfect world and it never will be. Chuck
-
Cops don't just kick-in doors... guns blazing! I think it should be more of a 'knock & kick'. As you knock, kick-in the door. As skydivers, we know, 20-seconds can be a long time. In that 20-seconds, a lot of dope can be flushed as well as other evidence destroyed. Personally, I think, our laws should lean more in favor of the cops. Chuck

Dixie Chicks - The Return To The Scene Of The Crime
masterrig replied to Keith's topic in Speakers Corner
They are 'entainers'! I don't want to hear their politics... I just want to hear their music. I don't care what actors, singers, musicians or comedians think about global warming, nuclear power, the president or world peace. They just need to do their job... entertain! Chuck -
Temporary solution. What if you want to listen to music? Or if you edit video? You could unmutem, but then all your sounds are still set to play for events. Better to turn them off so that you can still use multimedia stuff. ________________________________________ He wasn't too specific about it. What you are suggesting is better. Chuck
-
Depending on which Windows you have, I have XP. There is a little speaker icon in the lower right corner of your scrwwn on the start bar. Left click the speaker. Left click on the 'mute' box... no sound. Chuck

___________________________________ I saw an interview with him and his response was; "Never say never! I said last year, I was going to retire and I'm still here!" He has some substantial offers plus the truck series. Don't say good-by just yet. I know, I'm gonna hate to see the day he really does retire. Chuck

___________________________________ I understand. I have relatives in Houston and they keep us informed. Hell, here awhile back, they held a job fair. The idea was to get folks working. they offered shuttles and such, a big lunch and plenty of employers looking for help. The fair lasted I think, 2-days. ONE peson showed-up looking for a job! Those hurricane 'victims', stayed in their hotels! We have some of those victims in our town. Same ol' deal. I guess, those folks lived on Govt. money in New Orleans and they are not about to change. There was a bunch of them in one apartment complex here. They wouldn't leave so, the city condemned the property and bull-dozed it down. Our govt. has done all this. They've made it too damned easy. Chuck
-
I don't knw if, you got the same stories we did but, the jails in New Orleans were opened and all those prisoners were let go. There were more than one or two who got on buses headed for Texas. They wound-up in Houston, Dallas and Austin. That right there is good for a crime increase here. The folks who live in those cities know the difference. Chuck

Yessir! You are right on the mark there! What can you say about Nark Martin? The guy is a darned good driver and a gentleman. I get tickled, every time I see #6 in the winner's circle. I enjoy watching several of the younger drivers but, Mark is hands down, the best out there. Chuck

Ain't that the truth. For a while (when they announced they were switching to NEXTEL from Winston, the new car, etc) I was pretty pissed off and was thinking of taking up football . Then, thought about it.....and said screw that. NASCAR is NASCAR. I just roll with the changes. I don't agree with a lot of them....but when it comes down to it I still love it. Its an awesome sport. Nothing like sitting in grandstands with 200,000 other people screaming and can't hear a damn one of them (not to mention being one of two Jeff Gordon fan's among a sea of red hats). ________________________________________ You like to live dangerously, don't you? Being one of the rare Gordon fans! I guess, any crowd drawing activities like football, baseball or auto racing, they gotta keep it 'interesting' and put fannies in seats. Kinda funny how we learn the new changes and continue to enjoy what ever it is. I'm kinda in agreement with the ol' boy who said he had seen a lot of changes in his lifetime and didn't like a damned one of 'em! Chuck

I've got mixed emotions about it but, like you said... they are made in America. a lot of the Chevy and GM products are made in Japan. Drive-trains, engines and rear-ends then assembled here. Personally, I'm a Dodge fan. I've got a Dodge P/U and absolutely no problems... it, was assembled in Mexico! Next season, will definately be interesting... especially to the purists. Chuck

I was more talking about Jeff's year. Jimmie is up there again....but he has been every year since he started. Kasey's doing good...I like him, mostly because of Ray. There are some suprises in there though, Denny is one of them....especially in the 11 car. Gibbs is good at picking talent...I'll give him that. Plus Labonte is doing pretty good with Petty's old car. Carl Edwards has surprised the hell out of me too....not doing to hot this year. And Biffle too, although his luck seems to be turning around. Man, I love me some NASCAR. I'm glad that I get to watch the races out here this time around. Wasn't as lucky last time (april 03-04) and missed most of the season. First time I didn't watch most of the races in probably about 15 years. _______________________________________ Nothin' like NASCAR! What do you think of Toyota being involved, next Nextel seasion? Considering where you are at and what you are doing, I hope, you get to watch a whole bunch of races! Keep your powder dry and thanks, for what you are doing. I'm grateful to you and all our troops over there or wherever they are stationed. Chuck

The level of education in america is embarassing sometimes. ________________________________ You don't recognize 'joking' when you see it? Everything is so serious! Chuck you only read this topic becasue you thought Elvis had come back, didn't you _________________________________________ Well... DUH! Chuck
-
________________________________ We do, leave that up to law enforcement. That hurricane, as was mentioned brought us a lot of criminals. They'll be gotten though, just wait and watch. Chuck

Ain't that the truth. This year is starting to look like it may be a repeat of last year. ____________________________________ Except, Kasey Kahne is doing better. I was sure tickled to see Carl Edwards win the Busch race. Denny Hamlin, winning the Nextel, wasn't bad either. Other than that, I believe, you are right. Except for one big thing... Tony ain't doing sos good! I cant stand that arrogant so and so. Chuck

That was all in fun. I get ribbed for being a Gordon fan all the time. I grew up in Charlotte, and he is probably more unpopular there than anywhere else. It's actually almost came to a fist fight on several occasions. Damn us NASCAR fans take our stuff serious. ___________________________________ I forgot to put the laugh thing at the end of that. Right you are! That's fine, if you like Gordon... just so long as you like NASCAR. I may not like the guy but, he does know how to win! Seems like he just can't quite get it, this year. The season ain't over, yet. So far, it's been pretty good! Chuck

Yes, I've heard of it and it's going to be sweet. I don't have HBO though. So I'll be downloading what I can or waiting till it's released on DVD. I've both his CD's and listen to them repeatedly. That guys is HILARIOUS! ________________________________________ I hadn't really heard of Dane Cook, till you mentioned him here on BF. On your recommendation, I'm going to watch him. The previews alone, give in-sight to 'outrageousness' and etc.. Looking forward to his series. Chuck

How can the king live long... he's dead? Chuck

_________________________________ Could you imagine the outcry from Mexico if, we adopted any of those and... ebforced them like they do? Chuck

Hey, Slap! Have you seen where HBO is going to run a 'series with Dane Cook, 'Tourgasm'? That, should be good! Chuck
