  1. " ................................................................... Opening Shock Inhibitor - Yea... a device that either causes the canopy to not open for several thousand feet, or failing its primary job, causes the canopy to slam open unexpectedly... I think I would stay with "Oh-Shit, Its Chuck's" After reading this, I am, enlightend! Good call! Maybe, I should re-think this. Chuck
  2. " ................................................................... Opening Shock Inhibitor - a device (briefly) fashionable on Rogallo canopies circa 1970. OSIs were 4 inch wide pieces of webbing (lined with Teflon) that wrapped around the suspension lines, just below the skirt(?). Theoretically they would slowly un-wrap, to slow openings. I only made 4 hop-and-pops on Delta 2, and every opening HURT! Talk about "eating your (chest-mounted) reserve!" Thank god ... er ... Snyder and Yarbenet ... that ropes-and-rings were invented shortly thereafter, closely followed by sliders. That works! I've read of them but have never seen them. Thanks! One guy at our DZ came-up with... "Oh Shit... It's Chuck's!' Thanks again, Rob! Chuck
  3. You've given me some great ideas, though! Chuck
  4. Women's cage match would be really HOT! Does McMahon have a woman opponent? Chuck
  5. Lawyers can't pursue him to see if they want to secure his svs in teh mode you're talking about, at least not in AZ and prolly in most/all jurisdictions, but why care about the lawyers? This guy should cash in, I won't say to create the fantasy of deterrence, but just because it's due him. If there were no lawyers, there would be no settlement andhe would get zero. I know, lawyers can't persue 'victims' or anyone else. I was just trying to say, the guy will cash in and probably, rightfully so. BTW... what is 'teh mode'? Chuck
  6. Not only that, he should be in jail. This idiot cop cost that city a few million dollars. I can't wait to see the lawsuit this guy will file. I know, that's right! He's probably got 'ambulance chasers' lined-up in front of his house. Chuck I know, the inmate shouldn't get a dime, if he were never incarcerrated he never would have been beaten; it's his fault. BTW, ambulance chasing is aginst the bar rules; it's a figure of speech. It still goes-on. They're all over the t.v.! Chuck
  7. Right, let's not prosecute him, he meant well. When did you start defending cops? Chuck
  8. I agree. I can fully understand if he does sue the city. By having that cop in their employ, the city, 'approved' him. I feel, the city is just as responsible for the cop's actions as he is. What I was getting at was in regard to all the lawyers wanting to 'cash-in' on it. Chuck

  10. I can understand 'reasonable' force to control someone but this incident goes above and beyond 'reasonable' force. The cop lost his job, justifiably! Chuck.
  11. its over my head Chuck, I'm not seeing it at all??? I saw the word 'dirty' ad thought of all kinds of things. I have a wild imagination. Chuck
  12. I think, these 'con artists' work on the greed of others and people wanting to 'get rich quick' Also, they know, someone will fall for it and they just keep sending them out. It's the old adage... 'there's a sucker born every day and two to take 'em!' Chuck
  13. It does leave a lot to the imagination! Chuck
  14. I have often wondered if, someone could 'push' something like this as far as the courts and force the scammer to pay-up o go to the slammer... preferrably both! Chuck
  15. Will this be the next apology? It was WAR! Did anyone apologise for our troops killed in war? Nope! Chuck If you read the archives of the Manhattan Project you'll see that some very legitimate ethical questions are raised by the reasons Hiroshima was chosen as target. There were any number of militarily more important targets. You'll never convince me that we have anything to apologise for. It was Japan who got us into the war in the Pacific when they attacked Pearl Harbor. Truman wasn't 'fully' informed as to the 'effects' of the A-bomb. Maybe, had he known, he may not have given the order. I'd like to see you tell my Dad and his brothers and everyone else who fought in that war that we need to apologise. Chuck I am not arguing that the bomb shouldn't have been used. I do think there were serious ETHICAL issues concerning the choice of targets. IS it your position that the US and its allies should use the Nazis for ethical guidance? Of course not. What I'm getting at is, we were at war, you don't apologise. The Japanese have never apologised to anyone for their actions in the Pacific Islands, The Romans never apologised for their actions and the North didn't apologise to the South for their actions. Why, should we apologise, it was a war that the Japanese started? We just ended it. Besides, we're the biggest buyers of their automobiles! Chuck Chuck

Chuck I am not arguing that the bomb shouldn't have been used. I do think there were serious ETHICAL issues concerning the choice of targets. What about all those targets in London when the city was attacked from the air? As far as I'm concerned, it's over and done with... it's history and it can't be un-done. No apology in the world can bring those people back. what's the use. It'd just be some words read from a 3x5 card. Chuck

  18. I remember an unlimited hydroplane driver named Tom D'eath. I believe he piloted "Miss Budweiser" in the 80's. You bet, he did! He won a championship with the Miss Budweiser. Chuck Yeah, I knew that ...just couldn't remember exactly when. I remember him from my old boat racing days in the late 70's - early 80's when he was driving another boat. Sadly, my memory has failed me and I had to google it but the boat he drove during that time was "Miss US". Seems like he could win in any unlimited he drove. He was fun to watch! Chuck
  19. Fuck, I saw the prices for rooms at that hotel. $190 for the cheapest rooms... Oh well, I guess we could spring for one night there. "HEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRREE'S BILLY!!!!!!" Muwahahahahaa! priceline.com! Chuck

  25. Only if, you want to re-new your driver's license, license tags and inspection sticker, here in Texas. Also, if and when someone gets stopped by police, they are asked for a driver's license and proof of insurance. If, you can't show proof of insurance, you get a ticket. You don't have to buy auto insurance but they can sure make it rough on you for not. Chuck His point is that you only have to buy car insurance to exercise the privilege of driving on public roads. Thanks, for pointing that out. I must've mis-read it. Chuck
