Those are all PreSchool activities Kindergarten is now required to be able to count, to be able to add and subtract, know shapes, knows the difference between a who/what/where, knows of audience type (self/others), able to read basic words and able to add details to stories. The speech (per an educator) is a "Welcome back to school" type speech. I don't foresee a lot of political overtones being tossed into it. I was watching our local news and they discussed the President's speech. It's basically, like you said. Welcome back to school and a pep-talk for kids to stay in school. Local teachers have already viewed it and say that it's good for kids to see. Chuck

Well, with the exception of my kindergarten experience I could've also been considered a late bloomer...around 17 like yourself. ...had a kid at 21...now girls scare the living daylights out of me. I now also think they all have cooties...and in this day and age, I'm probably right! (great, now watch me get blasted as a misogynistic s.o.b) I'm sure! Since the dawning of 'women's lib' ya' gotta watch your step... and your mouth around women! They just aren't into 'cavemen' anymore. Chuck

When I was in kindergarten we were drawing risque stick figures and making out with the girls at nap time...It may have been better to just watch Reagan give a speech.....Ya, I probably would've fallen asleep, but at least I wouldn't have been acting naughty. Both the girl I made out with at nap time and the girl next door with whom I'd "play house" both became victims of teen pregnancy later on in life. I always wondered where we got that stuff from when we were so young...Did the girls go through an experience at home with which they influenced me, or did I influence them? Was this sexual curiousity inherrent in me at such a young age or did HBO influence me that one day when I was watching my Saturday morning cartoons...I was flipping through the channels during a commercial when my mom was in the kitchen, and there it was, the most interesting thing I ever saw in my life up to that point...Mezmorized by a full nude strip tease at 10am. If I'm not mistaking, I believe the FCC fixed that problem a little while later...or at least started to enforce the laws against it. In any event the human mind is a very delicate and impressionable gift...especially a child's. It needs to be protected. I guess, I was a 'late bloomer'! Girls scared the livin' daylights outa me till I was about 17 and that's when I'd talk with them. Back then, every girl in the world had cooties! Chuck

...which should easily help to double the current IQ of that particular group you might need to look up the population of the US to understand this. Nope, I think my Maths was good Can't be - you added an "s" to the end of it. Maybe, he used several 'formulas'? Chuck

They start 'em young, these days, don't they? What ever happened to kindergartners cutting-out colored paper and making chains or taking a little nap. I'm sure, all those little 'uns will understand the Pres' speech. Mold those little minds early! Chuck

masterrig replied to shropshire's topic in Speakers Corner
I would say yes... generally speaking. Chuck -
Hmmmm... the guy enters the house, sees girl friend with another guy... Hmmmm... I say, jealous rage. Stabbing someone 20-times is no accident. Chuck

If you don't like him - don't watch him. He is not a News Reporter . . . He is there as entertainment. Isn't that what all these so-called newscasters? I prefer Jon stewart over any of them. at least, he's honest about it. Chuck No - some of them actually think they are giving the news, completely unbiased. They really do. Just a bunch of over-opiniated clowns. Y'all left-out Imus. He's a big Hannity follower and a big joke, too. Chuck Imus has been outed and suspended - He's a twit. You got that right! I guess, that's why, I just watch our local news and weather. All those 'big-shot' reporters, news-readers, opinionated ya-hoos just try to out-ego each other. Chuck

Thank you. I will try this now. It was pretty funny. He'd say it with a fake British accent... it was pretty funny. Chuck

Hell, you just had to have been there at the restaurant when skinnyshrek pulled his junk out and his wife was holding it while a buddy snapped a pic on his phone and was gonna send it to Hans' phone at the other end of the table, and the waitress comes up to shrek and he's got that big ass grin on his face, everybody on that end busts out laughing and Hans' going WTF is going on there? Yeah, I wish I'd been there too. That's pretty ballsy! what a crazy guy! Chuck

Baked, broasted, roasted or fried... yardbird is goood! Chuck

I used to skydive with an ol' kid who would ask that of waitresses in beer joints. Of all the times he asked that, I never saw him get slapped. Then too, I never saw one of the waitresses grab his groin, either. Chuck
-
I've seen a lot of folks who make tandem skydives just for the 'bragging rights' because they had just come-back from white-water rafting, rock climbing and etc. No real interest in any of those just so they can say they did it. Chuck

...and how many completely new rigs and gear have been bought with college loan money. I know of some. Chuck -
There are too many open ends to this story to make a judgement. We don't know... this could have been a drug deal gone bad. Why, would the MS-13 single him out? The guy may have 'dissed' one of the gang members at an earlier time. We have no idea what 'really' caused the incident. The reporter gives just enough to get folks riled-up and that's about all. If, MS-13 has anything to do with it, they'll handle it without the police, anyhow. Chuck

Ditto on everything that has been said so for. The -34 not only has a smaller bobbin, but also a smaller hook assembly. The -34 , -6, and -9 have the same smaller assembly designed to do lighter work than the -31 or -33. Cheers, MEL Thanks for adding that! Chuck
-
Mine did too! I ordered a 'standard' presser foot from Singer for both machines (33 & 34) and included it with the machine when I sold the 34. Both machines had been used for making canvas tarps and awnings and both had new hooks when I bought them. Both machines had been overhauled and no 'slack'. Besides Nylon webbing, I sew a lot of heavy leather with it and it does a darned good job. Chuck

Rant of the day ....... Inconsiderate Smokers.
masterrig replied to shropshire's topic in The Bonfire
Shouldn't the carts go to the cart return? Buggies go back to the barn. Chuck And insonsiderate smokers should be on the next stage out of town. Yessir! Chuck
