  1. Hopefully, during the break, the Bruins have been working on their power-play. If not, the 'end' could be swift. In this series, I'm hoping to see Boston pull-off a win. Like you said, they need to stay out of the 'sin-bin'... let Vancouver get all the penalties. GO BRUINS!!! Chuck
  2. Surely, Boston has been working on that problem in practice, before this series. I'd like to see the Finals go the full 7 games... make whoever wins earn it! Chuck
  3. Seems like, each series has been up to the goalies and this series will be up to the goalies. We agree on that point. All the 'know it alls' are picking Vancouver in 6. I agree also, with the idea the Bruins need to 'perk-up' their power play. I think, this series will go 7-games. Any way you slice it, it's going to be a good series. Go Boston!!! Chuck
  4. I knew a jumper who worked on drilling rigs and stored his rig in the trunk of his car. The same car he drove to the oilfield and kept his greasers in. The mean temperature in the West Texas oilfields exceeds 110 - 115 deg. F.! The guy would come to the DZ, pack up and get on a load. there were weeks, he wouldn't show-up at the DZ but that rig stayed in his car trunk. I certainly do not agree with this type of 'care' for parachute equipment but in your case, you're probably O.K. If, it were me, I'd have your rig checked out... thoroughly by a rigger. Just my thoughts. Chuck
  5. It's guys like that that make 'real' bums look bad! Chuck
  6. I quit paying any attention to panhandlers after seeing a story about them on 20-20 or 60-minutes (I forget which). They showed a guy driving a Mercedes park the car. The driver looked around and then got out and walked to a corner a couple blocks away. The guy was dirty looking and shabbily dressed and un-folded a sign which had a message looking for a hand-out. He'd work that corner (near a wealthy neighborhood) 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. When interviewed, he stated that he made thousands of dollars on that corner. Since seeing that program, how do I distinguish the 'real' down and outer from the fraud? Chuck
  7. Chara is definately tough. On the other hand, I've seen Pavel Datsyuk dump Chara on his can, too! Needless to say, this is going to be a good-good finals. Both teams should be fairly healthy and put on a god show. Chuck
  8. What a game! No score through 2 periods and no penalties through 3 periods! I think, the refs just let them play. I saw several things that (I thought) should've been called but I don't think it would've mattered in that game. I'm taking Boston in the finals! Chuck
  9. Guy definitely shouldn't be charged with anything. But he did violate company policy. He could be in violation of his concealed carry permit... carrying a weapon on property where the company does not want firearms on company property and the property is posted. Chuck
  10. I agree but it is being banned ... starting in Catalonia. Wow! Seems strange they would ban it. Bull fighting has been such an historic part of Spain's culture. Don't tell me... PETA got to them!? Chuck
  11. The whole thing sounds like a case of 'bad intel'! Too often, raids are set-up based on what later turns-out to be bad information. Chuck
  12. I think, the officials should get together with some of the really good refs, who have retired and take some lessons. The refs should have practice sessions just like the players. Oh... and get rid of that no good, little 'Napolean' Gary Bettman! Chuck
  13. I have to agree with you. The Sharks played a helluva game. They out shot Vancouver by more than double, had fewer penalties but it looked like they couldn't buy a goal. I really question the officiating!!! I've seen similar, watching the Red Wing games. The way I see it, the Sharks should've had that one in regulation. I don't like the Sharks but in all honesty, they got robbed. Chuck
  14. Would someone please, make-up their mind? This whole thing is just screwin'-up my busy schedule! Chuck
  15. No, I missed the game. This is the time when goalies make those un-believable saves. The Sharks are in desparation mode. I see Vancouver slamming the door on the Sharks tonight. Chuck
  16. Y'all do it with such class! Chuck
  17. I was just so overwhelmed at being so enlightened... I couldn't count! Chuck That's OK Chuck, I'm a little tired tonight but I will bring you to full Enlightenment and Understanding. Fact is you're already mostly there with your country roots and morals. Peace, Jim B With an open mind, one can learn something no matter how old they are. Chuck
  18. I can't stand most of the crap they put on American t.v. I like the Discovery channel, the History channel, BBC America and so-on. I still think, your statement was a bit pompous! Truthful but still pompous. Chuck
  19. You definately, worked for that lap rating. Fantastic story. Congratulations to you. Chuck
  20. Seems like, during the play-offs, the NHL gets about the same attitude as NASCAR... 'Have at it boys!'. Calling mostly the more serious, offensive penalties. I'll say one thing... Boston and Tampa Bay are making a series of it! Vancouver has two of their more important players out, due to injuries. I just knew, that would be a very 'physical' game. I guess, 'physical' is the PC term for 'goonish'. Chuck
  21. Checkin' for cracks in your eye lids? Chuck
  22. How could we miss this one... 'Git-R-Done' Chuck
  23. Chara is a very large, physical presence on the ice with the ability to be a one man wrecking crew. He's good, all around. He can really make a difference in the game. During the regular season, I have 'Center Ice' but like everyone else, during the play-offs, I have to put-up with the same idiot announcers. During the Red Wings series, there was one VS announcer who I swear, purposly mis-pronounced certain Wings players names. He constantly called 'Kronwall' 'Corn ball' and so-on. Of course, we get the same announcers when NBC shows the games. I can't stand those guys. Chuck
