That's nice for you. But I don't have a Panasonic SD5 and don't plan on scrapping my HC5 to buy one. Also the video that I get off of the HC5 isn't in AVCHD format. I guess my real question is can I convert the .M2T to AVCHD and write it to DVD for BD playback with Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0 or would I have to buy the Vegas Pro 8 to do so?
-
From my perspective. I don't really care which format is better or worse or which is the winner. I am just happy that there is a winner. I wasn't going to purchase either one till there was a clear winner. DSE.. I remember reading that it is possible to write AVCHD to DVD's so that a BD player can play them back. How much trouble is it to convert the .M2T from the HC5 to AVCHD and write that to a DVD for BD payback?

Buy a copy of Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0. It's less then $100 at Amazon.

High WLs, Low Experience.. Where Are the S&TAs?
beowulf replied to MagicGuy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
And what would those be? Maybe i should have put it differently, how many people with low jump numbers sub 100 have you seen and thought, jeez that was a close call, he really had to dig that out. or He thought he could make the advanced landing area and hit the building or trees. Just my obsevations, but i seen more high jump number guys and girls come nearer to death than sub 100's under canopy. I don't think you have enough time in the sport to really have seen enough to make these kind of statements. I have seen many more low jump number people (sub 100 jumps) get hurt or come very close to getting hurt then > 100 jump people. Talk to the people who have been in the sport 10 years or more. They are the ones who have a much better perspective then you. -
yeah dry counties and dry cities. Like Irving, TX where I live. It's really stupid. I can drive 5 min down the road and be in Dallas and buy a six pack of beer but I can't do that anywhere in the city of Irving.

Many people feel the Gov should protect them from themselves. So they vote in politicians that pass dumb laws to do just that.

KY and Crisco? That's too funny. -
Would you like another example?

It is possible to ask a question while simultaneously making a statement.

I don't know the first thing that comes to mind is massive road rash if he manages to make it into that tube. -
Question 1 "Can you explain how these vital millions of illegal aliens could be employed while simultaneously being "ignored by white Americans"?" Question 2 Can you explain how these vital millions of non english speaking people could be employed while simultaneously being "ignored by white Americans"? Do you see the difference between these two questions? One drifts off topic and relabels the people in question and the other doesn't. Care to guess which is which?

Wow, you should know when to stop digging. Ok, let's begin: The post you refer to did not make a statement, it asked a question, as evidenced by the question mark at the end of it. If I had made a statement it would have sported a period instead. You do understand the difference...? Your question wasn't in regards to whether or not the people were illegal aliens. In fact you relabeled the people that RiggerRob was refering to as "illegal aliens". So yes you did ask a question, but you also made a statement while asking the question. btw yes I do understand the difference. It appears that you don't.
-
Can you explain how these vital millions of illegal aliens could be employed while simultaneously being "ignored by white Americans"? In the post by RiggerRob no where did he ever mention illegal aliens. You are the only one that did. Your post refers to "millions of illegal aliens".

See SkyBytch's post.

My reply wasn't directed to you. It was to BoilingMidnight. Who seems to think they are all illegal.
-
I merely gave one example of someone who lives in the USA and cannot speak any english. I have met many people who don't speak any english at all here in the US. They have to be making a living somehow. Not all of them are illegal. My stepmother is not an illegal alien.

My step mother can not speak any English at all and she lives near Chicago. That's just one example.

There are thousands of vacant USDA inspector positions, and the rules have been changed so that inspectors are limited in what they can inspect and the companies can write their own food safety plans. Very often all the inspectors are allowed to inspect is company paperwork, not the actual operations. How do you know that? About 12 years ago I worked at a meat packing plant in Rochelle, IL and the USDA inspectors routinely did inspections multiple times a day. Not inspections of the paper work. I personally witnessed them making rounds through out the plant and have even seen them shut down the entire plant and bring in the wash crew. Have things changed that much?

Thanks That makes sense. I have never messed with any of these settings. Mostly because I don't know anything about them.

How does setting the shutter speed manually help the video?

The HC9 does have a LANC port.

Oh,, in that case I agree with your post Yeah it's hard to tell these days.

I disagree with your whole post. I think the clerk was right to defend himself even if no shot was fired by the robber. The possibility of the robber's gun being fake should not even be considered. I think any armed robber should be treated just like that one was, whether or not they arm themselves with a real or fake gun. If someone threatens me with my life the first chance I get I will respond with lethal force. No one has the right to threaten my life with out consequences.

Yeah this guy wasn't hurt at all. I am sure it wasn't much fun sitting 10 to 15 feet off the ground waiting for the power company to shut off the power, while talking to police and firemen. That was a huge audience for a dumb mistake by a rookie. There is plenty of empty fields around Skydive Dallas. How he ended up in power lines instead of the middle of one of those fields?! [shrug] Oh well
