Have you tried demo'ing anything from icarus ? if you like the stilleto openings you would love the opening on a crossfire ! Also with a crossfire you could probably go down to that 139 range because they seem to fly a little bit bigger than stilleto's (meaning not as twitchy) but n-e-waze , just a thought Blue skies , Long swoops kelly

i hear that pulling your slider down and loosening your chest strap only make a noticable difference on a highly loaded high performance canopy

I jump one as a MAIN !! well, i did forget to say, the ones that are loaded up, like at 1.3 or 1.4 and up, are the ones that stall really easly. and i am talking about dash-m's anyway. as to you having a raven as a main, well all i have to say is i'm sorry, no just kiding, but you'll have that(the hard openings) when you jump a reserve as a main. later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late..............dirt, tumble, dirt............ouch"

in my opinion, being a packer, you should be able to pack faster than that to make money, and keep up with the rigs coming in(if your at a busy dz) you don't need to have too many packjobs to be a packer, if you can do it neat, and right, and fast, then your good to go and having your riggers ticket, is a big plus but that's just my opinion, and opinions are like assholes.................everyone's got one.................and they alll stink blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late...........dirt, tumble dirt............ouch"

not really, it was getting out of hand out there, with the cops all over. they just needed to leave us alone!!!!!! and sorry to say this, but the wuffo's needed to stay out. too many under ager people frome town i think that was a lot of the proplem. i'm sure that you were one of the ones that wanted us there, like the rest of the town, but the more important people in the city didn't. so now that we are in rantoul it hopefully will be better. and i live alot closer to rantoul later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late.........dirt, tumble, dirt..........ouch"

just don't let it tuch your canopy

most of the max weights on the reserve are put for the best performance of the reserve, so it doesn't mean it will blow up it you go over it, you just won't be at the weight for the best glide ratio, or best flare, but it still will be safe(to a point, like i don't think a 254 pound jumper under a pd 106 is too safe, it may handle the weight on opening, it's just after that) as to my favorite reserve, i like tempo and pd. i have rides under a tempo and pdr. both landed me fine. blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late.............dirt, tumble, dirt..........ouch" ps: i will not ever own a raven, i never did like the flight performance of them(stalls easly) and now that the dash-m's were blowing apart, it just stresses even more that i don't want one. but that's just my opinion. but to back that up even more, on the flight performance, just had a friend break his back under his dash-m 120, it stalled, now it was his falt that it stalled, but it stalled just below his shoulder and a couple years ago i had a friend that went in because his dash-m's lines broke(before the service bulitin).

Does VX really hard risers and shitti opened canopy?
skygod7777 replied to alexey's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
i had a 72 vx, i really loved the way it flew, but i hated the openings. if you like a stiffer opening, then your would love it. the riser pressure is stiff, but it's no worse than any other cross braced that i've jumped(vx, fx, and velocity) later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late...........dirt, tumble, dirt............ouch" -
all i'm saying is that is you can fly a canopy, and if you have 250 jumps, and you fly it like you have 1000, then if you want to go smaller, go for it!! if you get board with a canopy, when you have 250 jumps you start to get stupid with it, or at least some people do, you start to get ballsy, and hooking lower. so if this guy, that i know can fly his canopy fine, wants to go smaller, and not hook, then i would rather see him do that, than getting stupid under his 149. blue sky's and long swoops kelly

ok, well in "yoshi's" defense, he can fly his canopy well enough to down size, i will have to agree, maybe going to a 120 is a bit much kevin, maybe a 130 demo for a while then to a 120, but you seem to be ok under the jedi 120 though. just as long as you don't get stupid under is (well at least for a couple hundred more jumps) then you should be fine. so lets not go down on someone so bad when you haven't even seen them fly the canopy. jumps #'s don't mean jack shit, if you have the experience. if you max out a canopy and are getting board, then it's time to down size, weather or not you have 250 jumps, or 5000 jumps. it all depends on if you max the canopy out, then you down size(if you want of coarse). but i think sometimes people say things like "you don't have enough jumps to fly at that wing loading" or "that's way too small for your jumps" before they even see them fly the canopy, so maybe they say that because there jealous???? maybe they couldn't fly there canopy worth crap when they had that many jumps, so they think no one else should. but that's just my opinion, and opinions are like assholes, everyone has em, and they all stink

what's up well, i am not blaming the canopy on stalling at all. i was flying it like my fx, and am not used to a short toggle stoke. the thing with the openings, could of been me, i don't know, i didn't read anything on how it should open. i just thought it was a little fast. i don't like to have to do anything different when i pull to make it open better. and i do not like carves on every landing, i will, but i like the feeling of being flat with the canopy when i do a hard hook, it just feels cool. i am sure that i was not flying the canopy like it needs to be to get the best performance. i like the way my fx flys, and the cobalt is a lot different, i may try the 75, but i'm happy with my fx, and i may just end up buying another fx, not sure though. later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late.........dirt, tumble, dirt........ouch"

what's up so i got this comp cobalt demo, 85, thinking that is is a pretty good canopy. well i found out different, i hate it. it has like no recovery arc when you do a hook, at least compared to my 84 fx, i guess you have to carve it is what the dude said, but i don't like carving too much, unless i am going hard core for distance. and it's slow. a lot slower than my fx. i like a lot more speed. and he told me i could go just as far just slower. well i want to go as far, faster. and i don't like the short toggle stroke, not at all. i stalled it on my first 2 jumps. and then it wouldn't really shut down on all the rest of the jumps. the openings just suck in my opinion. there really not that slow. and they have a little jerk at the beginning. and yes i followed all the packing instructions, and i even have like a 20 or 22 inch pilot chute, so it's not too big. so all around i just think they aren't that great of a canopy. but that's just my opinion. for some canopy pilots this canopy may be great, but no for my, just not my kind of canopy. but that's just my opinion, and opinions are like assholes, everyones got em, and they all stink

Colon Berry scheduled for Richmond, IN this coming weekend!!!
skygod7777 replied to SPEC's topic in The Bonfire
you forgot to tell everyone that there is a 25 dollar registration to jump with him. not too sure about the coach jumps, i think that is you want a coach jump you do have to pay, but i'm not positive. later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late..................dirt, tumble, dirt................ouch" -
that's really weird that your heatwave had a problem, (i had a coulple 100, 120,and 135) and it wasn't in the line set or anything. but you did return it for a full refund didn't you???? i mean if there was a problem in the build of the canopy, then pisa should of replaced it or given your money back. later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late................dirt, tumble, dirt"

why did you get rid of the heatwave for a stilleto???? just wondering. blue skys and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late................dirt, tumble, dirt"

well, my friend has a ip-5(basically the same as ip-7) and it's great for the safety(so small) but it does suck that he can fire wire to anything. it does have a "s" cable hook-up and you can go from camera to camera that way, just no sound, and not as good of picture. so all in all i would wait a while until more cameras like it are out there, and there's more things that are compatible with it. blue sky's and long swoops kelly
