Hey Adam, Thanks for catching that this morning, all is well now, I believe you were sent a direct link to the paypal section so you could bypass the survey. Hey Everyone!! We have officially opened up the SkyFest registration online. By registering early you guarantee your self one of the famous SF T shirts and save time upon your arrival at the event. clicky http://www.skyfestboogie.com/component/option,com_surveys/Itemid,72/act,view_survey/survey,2008_Registration/ I have no idea how many T's to produce, we have the 100 ways, R Brothers who are good for a couple of hundred, and SF that has averaged 300 lately. So whats the guess?? Right now I am ordering 400 Total, 100 of them go to the 100 ways. If we run out we will have order forms to those who miss out. So help us out and register early, maybe we can get a better idea before the event? Thanks to you all for your support!! J PLEASE DO NOT JUST GO AND FILL OUT THE SURVEY. IF YOU DO NOT PLAN ON PAYING THEN DO NOT TAKE THE SURVEY. They are designed to co exist, thus decreasing accounting and paperwork. Thank you, I can see where it might be misleading so I will make some adjustments to help clarify.

Wasnt just Phat Annies first load that was scary, the one i was on, we lost the plexy glass bubble about 400 feet into the rollout. Hear a bang!, then smack and saw sumething tumbling down the runway as we tried to lift. Got to 250', then down to 200' and was there for about 5 minutes. Im near the door, told myself if we drop below 200 Im out of here!. Ive thrown dummies out at 130 knots and 50's was enough for the reserve, I would have taken the chance. Not going down with 80 people in that bird. But thats just me. Im sure that would have created other issues but I was ready. If my memory is correct Southern Cross is the first DC3 and oldest for Skydiving use. Rick from Sun Path has some great stories, he was the mechanic for many years.

you were 6 months ago. Listen up boys and girls, its that time of the year again... Lets see if we can break the records for opening season fatalities. We all know the influx that happens from now, and for the next 6-8 weeks. Lets make this the year it doesn't happen! Do not become a season starter stat.!!!! Do what you you got to do, just do it slower for the next few weeks. Please... That will be all. Be Safe and have fun. J

You talking about closing pins? Mark Futch engraved the one I pulled off my fathers rig. single-helix.com I doubt you want that, it took a year to find someone to do it and it wasn't cheap. But he might be able to help with printing. Got your other email, will verify everything first thing Monday Thanks gary

What are you talking about - didn't you know they came to Denver just a few months ago? Tull; one of my favorite rock bands. Was trying to remember what year I saw them (and it was definitely in the top 2-3 shows I've seen). Maybe '92 or '93?? Ian Anderson and his flute. WOW! I missed that show in 1993, after landing on the building, shoving the fib tib out the bottom and side of my right foot and breaking the right wrist, I had to sell my 4th row seats, still haven't seen them!! Same here..Had GREAT tickets back in college, 1979 IIRC... Some asshole threw a bottle at Ian during the first song, the band walked off stage and kept going! So i imagine that guy didnt walk away from the show though?? some serious ass kicking had to happen
-
The whole line was total crap. Sluggish flight and thumpy landings, even for the era. Humm now chuckie, I had 169 jumps on mine and never had any problems landing it, nice and soft. Now I wont argue that sometimes quality control became an issue, and I do agree that they werent the best canopies but the price was right.

WFFC asking -- would you go to WFFC 2008?
upndownshop replied to chango's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Umm I think they are headed to South Carolina -
With a Javelin one thing that can be done is changing the location of where the lats attach on the MLW in relation to the Rings. They can do a "split" which could raise or lower the rig on your back. They do make a S or L short or long version on most sizes as well. Which I believe most mfrs do these days. You know we could do what ole Mike Michigan does, has a reverse ripcord on his racer. The housing runs along the bottom rather than the top thus requireing the ripcord to be pulled up. Of course that requires a spring loaded PC.
-
Try what i mentioned in the first post, and I would suggest doing it with the rig on and on the floor arching after some standing attempts. Let me know how you do... Got to keep them youngens safe. LOL Be well

Thanks for that - I only have to cup a ton for the people around my skill level, and I did get a pretty baggy suit, plus we're all learning quite a bit in the process about speeding up and slowing down while staying in control - but I very much understand what it feels like to almost get back up to somebody (or have them get down to me) and then I slip off the bubble. Sucks . Another hint when de-arching bring your fingertips together and push down. You will be pleasently suprised. By bringing the arms closer together your creat more drag between the arms especially with a large jumpsuit. Give it a shot bet it works.
-
Glad you are getting more comfortable with it. Just a side note, if you are always cupping as you say, you may try a larger jumpsuit, I am sure someone has mentioned that to you. But FYI when you are on the "edge" of your range you lose the ability to control other things. Just passing this along as well. Be well J

so when he says eyeing little girls with bad intent, is it he with the bad intent or looking for girls WITH bad intent

After scratching my head a few minutes, it finally occurred to me: Are you talking about Jethro Tull? You know how far back in my hazy memory that was??? Didnt think of that,I finally got all my old CD collection out and have been enjoying the flashbacks!!!

I had a guy once borrow my new rig and he went to reach for it and couldnt, he got smart reach up with left hand grab the lateral and pulled the rig down and grab it. I dont think I would have thought of that. Yes he was a very experienced jumper. Your floating rig, man thats a real issue as you know. Sort of what I was saying in my first post, its not that the rigs are too short, its more when they shift or lift that it becomes a different issue than just being able to reach well enough to grab it. The only real problem I have had was with a brand new pair of gloves, darn things were to slippery, yes i went three times for it and was low, but I knew I was there and knew what the problem was. I had just paid 20.00 for the gloves 10 minutes before the jump. I landed and walked around saying jumped once gloves for sale 5.00!! I ended up giving the gloves to a whuffo female friend of mine.

You can hear it on the recorded version of My God a couple of times. The man rocks!
