This is a joke right? Firearmfree zones = Victim zones, like my college campus is a victim zone. More importantly, police and federal agents would destroy you if you attempted to do as you say. I agree with everyone that it is way cool. I especially liked the "how we did it" pics. Way smart and creative guys. I've always loved Escher. Edit to add: Relativity is one of the very few of his works that doesn't rely on optical illusions. I'd love to see someone build his "widget" or "box". How is my canopy going to react? thinner air (altitude) but thicker because of the cold, right? I think your dytter and Neptune should "zero" themselves when you turn them on. Double check the owners manual (you have read it right??) As far as your canopy, yes. Higher will give you less dense air, colder will give you more. Which will be dominant is the question. I think it will be thinner air, which will give you a higher forward speed, higher descent rate and less flare power. Talk to your instructors at X-Keys and also to the instructors at Mile-Hi. Lots of people have bought and sold gear successfully on here, but you have to excercise common sense and a bit of caution. I think it was ridiculous to give Obama the peace prize without accomplishing anything. It approaches the "Let's not keep score and everybody gets a trophy" attitude in some kid's sports. Reading the thread about it, many seem to agree, even a former winner (Lech Walesa). I'm glad Chicago lost the Olympic bid because: 1 - Far too many of it's citizens (something like 75% or so) opposed it 2 - The construction for the Games (had Chicago won) would have demonstrated how corrupt the city is to the world. Yes. I have to agree with most of the fabulous responses here. A few years ago I realized that the lower my expectations for happiness were, the more often I am happy. Taking pleasure in the smaller joys of life put more joy into it. But I think there are 2 threads I have read this week that convince me that skydivers are the best group of friends I have ever had. THIS one, where someone was looking for pictures for a training aid. And the whole community helped out. And THIS one, where someone needed a laugh. If you want to see who is selling your information to whom, put a different middle initial on each place that gets your information. Or spell your name slightly differently. You don't have an "Either" or a "Both are fine" option. Whoever is in back has to do more work, whoever is in front receives more attention. Depending if I'm feeling frisky or needy will deterimine where I'd rather be. The lady I'm spooning with usually gets to determine where I end up. I'm not that particular. That's exactly my point. Someone claimed that they would pull their gun when the recognized someone had an intent to assault, and I've been trying to figure out what they meant by that particular phrase. Ok, I think I am that "someone". Personally I will not point a gun at anyone until I can establish all 5 of the "points" I described in a previous post. And to clarify a bit, I was talking theoretically about the difference (and there are many very subtle differences) between "assault" and "self-defense" when brandishing a gun. And I did say (maybe not clearly enough) that brandishing a gun, even in self defense will very often got one arrested. And perhaps charged and convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. Which is why I also said (and all this is across a bunch of different posts) that carrying a gun is a huge responsibilty and carries certain risks. I think that it should be up to the individual (if they are qualified) to make that decision for themselves. The folks that did this study seem (to me at least) to be in the group that wishes to take that option away from me and everyone else.
