See that mushroom cloud off on the horizon? Know what that means? No size restrictions and screw the limit! Credit Gahan Wilson, IIRC. I remember that as a Gary Larson "Far Side" cartoon, although I could be wrong, or he could have borrowed the idea. And once the zombie apocolypse starts, most of the game wardens will become zombies. Who's gonna write the tickets? "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." You know if you defy skymam like that she will hurt you in ways that men in prison dread. #1 LouDiamond has been through training that is almost as tough as any punishment Skymamma would hand out. #2 I got a funny feeling that there was a "behind the scenes" mod discussion that resulted in this. Thanks for letting us continue the "zombies, guns and Twinkies" (don't forget about the Twinkies) discussion. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." I LIKE that! I was brought up to do things like: Hold the door for the person behind me (especially for a woman) Say please and thank you. And sir and ma'am Pull out a chair for a lady You know, basic manners. I've also learned that I'm not "special" nor do I have "mad skilz". I can fuck up with the best (worst?) of them. Broken bones hurt and take a long time to heal. And that people giving advice often do have my best interests in mind, and have often learned the lessons the hard way. So, I'm an "old fart". I'm perfectly ok with that concept.

It's a little creepy that you're insinuating you've visited me without my knowledge!! Or participation. I'd bet you've visited a lot of male DZ.commers in their dreams. Especially considering some of the things you've said, and some of the pics you've posted. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Just out of curiosity, what facts do you base that opinion on? You certainly are entitled to your opinions, but I have yet to see any accurate or rational reasoning that supports that particular opinion. Please don't tell me the "43 times more likely" myth. I won't disagree that they can be misused, and that misuse causes a lot of misery. But the number of guns that are misused is a very small percentage of all guns out there. Even the number of guns that are actually used to prevent/stop crime is a small percentage of all the guns out there (although a larger percentage than those used in crimes). If they are unnecessary and only lead to bad, why do cops, security guards, soldiers, ect carry them? "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Five? I really don't want to hear you bitch about not finding a girl who makes you happy if you are splitting your attention among 5 different women. How can you keep them straight? How can you get to really know any of them? Note - I'm talking about developing a serious, long-term relationship here, not just hookups. Oh yeah, if you don't get them anything, then don't expect anything. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Do you determine a difference in spirituality and religion? Call it what you will, but if you believe in a god, you're not basing your belief on facts. I would have to ask you to define "Facts". I believe in God. I don't follow any organized religion. All religions that I know of are created by man and corrupted by those in charge. My belief in God is based on personal experiences, facts if you will. Things I have seen and felt. Purely subjective, open to interpretation and certainly not anything that could be called "evidence". But it's enough to convince me that God exists. Most of the time anyway. ............................................................... That's just it. You need to work through that hurt first. It does take time. Anger is a part of that. If you deny your true feelings, and stuff what's really inside of you....you won't feel any better. I believe if you can talk about all the crap that has happened in therapy, eventually you can get rid of it. Many religions demand that you forgive now. Many say that it is wrong to be angry. Or another good one is that you can't do anything about the past. This causes all kinds of people just to stuff what they really feel. Denial is a great defense mechanism, but a person needs to move beyond that, if they are going to recover....Talking about how you really feel (in therapy) is important. Lots of hurt. No anger. Really. Well, except towards myself. Because I should let this stuff go, but won't. Because the whole situation is based on my own selfishness. I want what I want regardless of how anyone else involved feels. And it's going to take some time to get over the hurt. I know that. It just sucks. And it doesn't automatically take therapy to get through it. It does take talking about it. Fortunately I have some fantastic friends who are willing to listen and give some valid feedback. I'll be ok eventually. It just hurts now and will for a while. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." All Cary would have to do is ADMIT that what he did was wrong. Send the money back to who it belongs to + interest, + a little bit for the inconvenience, and apologize. He would be readily forgiven. I don't see that happening, but I can hope. that said, you do realize, don't you that some people - Many, in fact, are more susceptable to the lemmming phenomenon than others? It is to those many that I speaking of, not your many, your many have a much lower level of involvement. Absolutely. Some people are far, far more open minded than others, Some are so closed-minded that no amount of facts will convince them that they are wrong. Others (your "many") are suceptible to a convincing argument, often based far more on feelings that facts. And while I applaud (and believe) your attitude towards Cary Q, don't you think that there are those who would never forgive him, no matter what he did? I didn't quote the whole thing, I don't want to turn this into a huge pyramid. Very few of us think entirely for ourselves. We all apply our experiences, teachings and prejudices to our thoughts. In the example you used, those voters were going to vote for Obama no matter what policies he had. Because they had already made up their minds that he was "their man." Some people on here will never see anything Cary Q does or anything related to him in a positive light, no matter what that is. Again they have already made their minds up about him (and in this case, even if he cured both cancer and AIDS, he'd still owe Santa 3 or 4 presents). Are either of these cases truly people "Not thinking for themselves", or is it a case of basing thoughts on feelings more than facts, or is it somewhere in the middle. I don't think anybody is really and truly impartail and objective, and that includes me. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Go to spain and see if they have bi lingual traffic signs. Reread the first sentence of the 2nd paragraph. "All licensed drivers should be able to read basic traffic signs..." I've never been to Spain, but in Mexico, they have red, otagonal signs that say "Alto" on them. They look just like a US Stop sign, execpt the word "Stop" is different. In Quebec, Canada, the sign is, again, identical in shape and color, it just says "Arrete" on it. Even wothout understanding the exact meaning of the word, I don't have any trouble understanding the sign. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Many people think "Guns are bad" Many people thing "Skydiving is insane" Many people think "All Muslims are terrorists" Many people think "Black people are inferior" (substitute any racial group for "Black" if you wish). And on and on. Allowing feelings to override facts is usually a bad idea. Many people don't think. I'm going to disagree with you a bit there. Many people do think these things. Their thoughts are based on false assumptions, bad facts, or feelings (many of which are based on sterotypes they were taught since birth). Just because the thoughts are irrational and fucked up, it doesn't mean the people aren't thinking. This applies to a lot more than guns. Most US traffic signs are in the "Internationally standardized, language neutral" format. They just have english words on them for the people who don't understand the symbols (Yield, Stop, Pedestrian Crossing, ect). It's a little odd to go to Quebec and see the exact same Yield sign, without the word "Yield" on it. But I know what it means. And I agree that as long as the applicant can properly identify the signs, the language the test is written in shouldn't matter. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." This makes a lot of sense. I wish I hadn't tried to hang onto that coal for so long.... Don't think that I figured this out for myself (I didn't) or that I learned it quickly or easily (didn't again) or that I can do it all the time (guess what.. Still don't). Right now, I'm holding onto some reservations that are causing serious problems (fortunately they aren't resentments, anger or blame). I know I should let them go. I know I will be better off after letting them go. I know I won't really be able to move forward in my life until I let them go... But I don't want to let them go. Well, the furnace guy has come and gone. The burner transformer went out. Nothing I could have done about it. The $390 part was covered under warranty, but the $140 labor/service call fee wasn't. Oh, well. I have enough in the reserve funds to cover it without a problem, and the only thing I had to do this morning was work the shooting range, and I wasn't going to do that anyway due to the cold. It's just barely above zero right now. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo

Since when are you an old fart? Being an "old fart" isn't a matter of age alone. If you think: People should find what they are looking for by looking where it's published. People should follow rules and recommendations People are responsible for each other, at least to a certain degree, and should do their best to stop stupid people from doing stupid things (not always possible to do, but we should at least try) People should use common sense and common courtesy as much as possible Well, then you are probably an "old fart". Ah, but while we're nit-picking terminology, you have to be more specific with the term "M1". Because that could represent either an M1 Garand which shoots .30-06 from clips, or an M1 Carbine which shoots .30 Carbine from magazines. The Garand .30-06 has more zombie knock-down power, but the clips only hold 8 rounds. The Carbine shoots a weak cartridge, but comes with up to 30-round magazines. Of the two, I don't know which I'd prefer for a horde of zombies... Or an M1 SMG (Thompson) or an M1 Abrahms tank (that would be really handy against the zombies ) Or a BMW M1 which would get you away from the zombies really fast. Spence got in trouble for calling someone that in the forums and has complained about it since. That's just why I joked about that. I know. I just wanted to continue the (friendly) PA of calling him a "fucker", but point out that he isn't stupid. I was thinking of saying "He isn't a stupid fucker, he's a smart asshole." Not to mention that matches (and lighters too) are used for smoking, and should be tightly controlled. If we don't let people have unlimited matches and lighters, then they won't smoke as much. We need match control legislation. How many you can buy in a certain time period, how big the matches are, how many in a pack (those huge match packs are a disaster waiting to happen), how many you can have in your home, background checks to include a psych eval to make sure you aren't a pyromaniac, ect., ect., ect. Now that is the right way to call someone a stupid fucker. Happy birthday, Spence! Yeah, but it isn't true. Spence isn't stupid. He may well be a fucker, but he's a smart fucker. Happy B-Day Spence. ...Twinkies! Now, how could I fergit `bout that (* we don`t have those here though, but I`ll stockpile some other vice) Twinkies aren't a vice. They are high in calories, tasty (well, if you like the taste), and easy to store. They will last for years without any special treatment. They make great survival food. No. I've been thin my entire life, I stay pretty active so I don't have to work too hard to stay that way. Since turning 40, however, I have noticed that I grow a gut more readily (and have to work harder to get rid of it), so I've focused more on eating better. One thing I have to pay attention to is eating while driving. I keep a variety of stuff (healthy and not so much) to munch on while going down the road. I have to keep an eye on my behaviors and make sure I'm eating because I'm hungry and not because I'm bored. Interestingly, I've been going through some difficult times lately, and when I'm dealing with that sort of thing I don't eat as much. A friend who I've been talking to about this found it amusing because when he's going through difficult times, he eats more. And I agree that your roommate (just roommate or new boyfriend Nataly?) has some food issues. Those are far more common among women, but not unknown in men.
