To get you to respond. "Ignorant and wrong" is his bread and butter. His spelling and grammar are too good for him to be THAT stupid.

The decisions she has made in regard to Trump's theft of classified documents tend to demonstrate a significant LACK of brains.

How is calling Trump supporters 'Deplorables' unacceptable? It was those people who tried to run a Biden campaign bus off the road in Texas. The sheriff who didn't respond to calls for help settled a lawsuit. The participants are facing one. It was those people who made death threats against the poll workers Trumpty Dumpty and his minions claimed falsified ballots. Giuliani lost a large lawsuit over that. And it was 'baskets of deplorables' who stormed the Capitol on Jan 6. What in those people's (and a LOT of others) behavior doesn't constitute 'deplorable'? It's one thing to point out behaviors that are not acceptable. It's 'a whole 'nother thing' to accuse people who don't agree with you of being 'enemies' and to threaten to send the military to kill them.

GOP Talking Points The cruder the better
wolfriverjoe replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
I do believe that Stormy Daniels answered that question. When I first heard this, I laughed quite long and hard. This is what Trump has become. From almost 40 minutes of "Dance Party" to admiring how large Arnold Palmer's junk was. -
Do you really think those authoritarian idiots believe that civil rights apply to anyone other than them and their minions?

Simple farmers, the common clay of the West. You know... Morons.

Hi Jerry, I do believe 'dementia' was 3 or 4 stops ago. If he wins (I don't think he will, but I didn't think he would in 2016 either), I think the 25th A will be applied shortly after inauguration, Given the stupidity of the Rs, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to conceal it. It wouldn't be entirely impossible for his inner circle to simply not do anything he tells them to, but also not tell him that he's not really President. Under those circumstances, I don't know if Vance would take power, of if it would be someone like Miller.

You're the one who claims to be Christian. Yet you completely ignore "Christian Values".

Well, it's more than just meteorologists. FEMA in North Carolina has had to curtail certain operations in certain places because of idiots making threats. https://apnews.com/article/fema-threats-disaster-workers-rutherford-county-armed-militia-dbb6b5727eaa12e79f307bf38a4b6256 Yet those same idiots complain that the government isn't helping enough. I'm reminded of the 'Jive translation' scene from "Airplane".

Back in October 2020, Trumpty Dumpty held a rally in Tulsa Oklahoma. It was cold and rainy. Because of the way the venue was arranged, attendees had to be bussed from parking lots to the rally site. After the rally, the busses that were supposed to take people back to the parking lots never showed. It was later claimed that the reason the busses didn't come back was because the Trump campaign didn't want to pay the bill. So thousands of people were stranded in bad weather, in below freezing temps. Some ended up in the hospital. So guess what happened yesterday at the rally in Coachella California. Go ahead, guess. Rally attendees who were bussed several miles from Indio were stranded when the busses to take them back... Never showed up. https://www.rawstory.com/trump-fans-stranded-desert-rally/

Yeah, when he starts losing an argument, he reverts to name calling and insults.

Not really, as far as I saw. He made his 'preponderance of evidence that God exists' comment and I called him out on it. Asked him to show that evidence. First, he tried to change the subject, asking if I was concerned about the 'state of my soul'. But no evidence. Then he just ignored the question. Then he made the claim that 'I wouldn't accept the evidence he had', without providing anything for me to accept or reject. So to say he was 'open to 2 way discussion' is not true, at least in the case of evidence that god exists. The funniest part about this is that even when I DID believe in God, I fully accepted the concept that there's ZERO evidence for his existence. That's what 'faith' means. Belief without evidence. I don't think Jay ever understood that part of my questioning him on his 'evidence' (that was never provided). Because he was never willing or able to admit that he might have been wrong (on ANYTHING, not just my questions).

Ummmm... No. I'm glad that whatever keeps the spammers in check is working. I remember all of the "REAL FAKE PASSPORTS!!!" And 'Counterfeit currency' posts. Don't miss them in the least. Although Concrete Rebound Hammer definitely had it's moments. I think it would be nice if 'ban status' was visible somehow. Like on the user profile. I know the potential for abuse means it won't ever happen, but it would have nicer qualities. Hoping old Jaybird got some sort of 'time out'. He's so consistent. Lots of arrogant pronouncements, and when people start pointing out the errors, inconsistencies and contradictions in them, he gets rude, insulting and abusive. And then he disappears for a while.

Wow. I thought you couldn't make a more ignorant and arrogant statement than 'there's a preponderance of evidence for the existence of God' (still waiting for a shred of that 'evidence'). But this tops it. How about when the fetus dies in the 8th month. And the dead fetus starts to rot. And then sepsis sets in. Should a doctor be able to remove the dead fetus? Bullshit. Because the statistics take time to compile, maternal deaths due to lack of ability to get an abortion haven't really shown up yet. But they're starting to. https://www.propublica.org/article/georgia-abortion-ban-amber-thurman-death It's become abundantly clear that it's about control of women's bodies. Not about 'saving babies'. https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/16/health/abortion-texas-sepsis/index.html The fetus was doomed. No way for it to survive. The woman was in grave danger. But the state refused to let her get the care she needed.

Turn around, don't drown.

Of course he can't. In part because the actual definition includes 'aware of injustices'. And anyone who is against being aware of injustices towards other people is obviously not a very good person. Kinda funny that the only people I see using 'woke' these days are the ones using it as a pejorative. An insult. For them, it's sort of like 'socialism' or 'communism'. They don't seem to know what those words actually mean. They have altered the definition to 'whatever it is that I don't like'. Fun fact: Heather Cox Richardson has repeatedly pointed out that the first uses of "socialism" as a pejorative was by rich Southerners who didn't like the idea of African Americans being able to vote. "Those people" didn't pay much in taxes, yet their vote would elect politicians who would decide how to spend tax monies. So the rich wouldn't be able to direct spending for stuff THEY wanted, usually for their own benefit, and to the detriment of the poor.

Slowest start to Atlantic hurricane season…

Is the fact that the Florida surgeon general is an anti-vax moron one of those 'many reasons'? No shit. Read this (actual Florida government site): https://www.floridahealth.gov/newsroom/2024/09/20210912-UpdatedGuidanceCOVID-19.html Also: https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19vaccine/112069 Fun fact: During Covid, a group calling themselves "America's Frontline Doctor's" released a video of them standing on the steps of the Supreme Court. The leader of the group was Stella Immanuel, aka "Dr Demon Sperm" because she thinks that most ailments are caused by sex with aliens or demons (yes, really). The video was banned from FB, Twitter and various other platforms because it was full of shit. Of course, the idiots claimed that it was just the "Deep State" hiding real cures from the masses. Guess who was standing on those steps during the video. Go ahead, take a wiiiild guess. https://www.salon.com/2021/09/22/floridas-new-surgeon-general-dr-joseph-ladapo-has-ties-to-fringe-group-pushing-bogus-cures/ -
I've heard some good things about the Ioniq. Nothing that fit me (price, age mileage) was available when I was looking. And there's not any real surprise that a 92 year old could adapt to an EV. It's a different operating system. It requires a different mindset. It has advantages and disadvantages (note: the disadvantages are NOWHERE NEAR as bad as the Luddites would have you believe). For some people, it doesn't work. For others (including me) it's an amazingly efficient and cost-effective choice. From a 'cost per mile' perspective, my Bolt is cheaper to operate than my motorcycle. You can teach 'an old dog new tricks' (Mythbusters proved it). The problem is that you can't always teach a stupid or stubborn dog new tricks. We have a couple folks on here who demonstrate that VERY clearly.
-
I got an EV last year. While looking, I considered Tesla a bit. For my budget, a Tesla would have had to be older and/or more miles than I was looking for. Plus the fact that Elmo is a raving idiot. Ended up with a Chevy Bolt and couldn't be happier.

There's also the fact that the balance is never actually 'zero'. In my case, the statement is issued on the 7th of the month. The bill is payable by the 2nd of the following month. So I have most of a month to put charges on the card before last month's bill is due. So when I pay the bill, I have almost a full month's worth of charges already accumulated. And that amount goes against my 'available credit', affecting my score.

Hurricane Helene made landfall overnight. It was listed as a Category 4 storm when it hit. From Heather Cox Richardson: Link: https://www.facebook.com/heathercoxrichardson (post from Sept 27th). But, yeah, AGW isn't real, the stats are faked and the idea that storms are becoming more powerful or more frequent is a lie. Suuuuuuure. -

Same reason he thinks (using that term VERY loosely) everything he does. Because it fits what he WANTS TO believe. -
Well, he kinda has to market to that sort if crowd. Nobody else is going to buy his garbage (either his political bullshit OR his crappy pillows).

You forgot about the Chinese & Japanese. The racism against the Chinese was probably the strongest, and culminated with the Chinese Exclusion Act. While there was widespread opposition to and discrimination against various ethnic groups, that was the first major law restricting a particular ethnic group. The 'Gentlemen's Agreement' in 1907 effectively barred Japanese. And, of course, the internment camps in WW2.
