  1. If all you have is one, that isn't enough. How many people did that politician affect? Show me evidence the president or FEMA director(s) didn't respond quickly because it isn't an election year, politicians that affect a large number of resposne personnel. Otherwise it is aluminum foil hats and black helicopters to me. Derek
  2. Without offering any evidence. I think the politicians send the Emergency personnel, affecting their response time. I don't believe that the politicians didn't send people in right away because it isn't an election year. Derek
  3. Um, no. If you are warned to leave, can leave, but chose not to, don't complain if releif efforts aren't perfect. They all deserve the same efforts to help them. No, it pisses me off that those that chose to stay would then complain to rescue workers about their efforts. Please read what I wrote, carefully, not what you think I wrote. That is all I am saying, anything else just isn't there. Derek
  4. If I agree with you, do I have to wear an aluminum foil hat so they won't know? Edit: A black helicopter just flew by right after I posted that. I think they know....... Derek
  5. I don't think wether or not it is an election year had any bearing on emergency personnel's response to NO. Do you have any evidence proving that the response time was slower because it is not an election year? I have been asking you the same question for a while now. You say I blame the victims. I ask you to quote me where I blame the victims and you ignore me. Who is putting words in who's mouth? Derek
  6. No, you aren't paying attention. This thread is not about blaming the victims. This is thread is about the victims that could have left, chose to stay, and then complained about rescue/relief efforts. From my first post: "OK, some people couldn't for different reasons. What of the ones that could have and didn't? What of the ones that could have left and didn't that are now complaining about the poor response by FEMA?" I NEVER said it was their fault or that they deserved what they got. You keep saying I said that. Quote me where I said that. You can't, because I didn't. Keep trying to spin it Derek
  7. OK, one more time, since you don't listen too good. I m NOT blaming the victims for anything. Derek
  8. PD doesn't supply rubber bands with their reserves. Derek
  9. So IF, it had been an election year and, IF the politicians had been slow to react, then POSSIBLY there would have been looting. If, if, and possibly. You are, of course, implying that because it is not an election year, politicians were slow to respond to NO, letting people die. Are you accusing people of murder? Derek
  10. Got a good recipe for crow? What about you, ChasingBlueSky? Who it ""alot" of people? Derek
  11. "At least one opening was brutal. We could here a load "bang" on the ground, similar to the sound of e.g. a hunting rifle being shot. " Derek
  12. There would have been looting if it had been an election year? Derek
  13. Well? So far "Alot" = zero. You made an evil accusation and cannot back it up. You owe me and others an apology. Derek
  14. I agree and wouldn't ground them because of why they skydive, but if they are going to get hurt because they are jumping for the wrong reasons, then I would ground them. That is part of being an Instructor, protect your students, even, if necessary, from themselves. Derek
  15. That is right. I didn't say that. You know why I didn't say that? Because I don't think that. Anything else is your imagination. Not even close. Easy. The means to leave. Having a way to leave the area. Not being unable to leave because of the need to stay and help others that could not leave or not having any means to leave. Staying because you chose to, as in having the choice to either leave or stay. "If you could have left but didn't". Seems self-explainitory to me. There were people tghat did not leave because they chose not to leave. They didn't stay to help others, they didn't stay because they couldn't leave, they chose to stay. Those people have no right to complain about relief efforts. They chose to put themselves in harms way. They have every right to rescued and taken care of like any other victim, but they should not complain about the relief personnel's efforts. They only made their jobs harder. So, it seems like you are trying to include me in with whoever you think feels the victims got what they deserved. You are wrong. Show me where I said that, otherwise, you are making things up. Derek
  16. Show me where they said they got what they deserved. Not showing compassion IS NOT the same thing as saying they got what they deserved. Not even close. This is a quote from airtwardo just above. He is showing compassion, but you say they weren't. This is from flyangel. Hmmmm. I think you are misunderstanding what people have posted. Derek
  17. Like I asked the original poster, who? I got one name last time I asked this. Derek
  18. D) She is going to get hurt and quit, unhappy with anything skydiving. You have to apply yourself in skydiving or you will get hurt. That takes motivation and determination, both of which she does not have. Do her a favor and keep her on the ground. She will probably thank you because then she won't have to do something she doesn't want to do anymore. I had a student that was having all sorts of problems. I was working my tail off trying to train them. I asked them in passing, "Why do you skydive?" They got a strange look on their face, said, "I don't know.", took off the rig and left, never to return. They realized they didn't really want to jump. Derek
  19. I asked who last time this was brought up and got one name. You have implied that there is "alot" more than that. Who are they? Derek
  20. Nothing wrong with a rigger being anal about their tools. Good quality to have actually.. My tools are all stainless steel, custom made to my specs. Derek
  21. i did it on the ground on a Vector II tandem system. I wanted to see what it was like to pull in case I ever needed it. It was not easy or quick to do, even standing on the ground. It did work though. Derek
  22. How much do they cost in USD? How much is shipping? Are the presses with the seal symbol included or extra? Thanks, Derek
