  1. My landings aren't consistent, I make sure my skin is fully covered on every jump! And that is exactly why I haven't done a fully naked skydive ... (yet); just went topless . O
  2. In that case... http://proxify.com/ http://www.hidemyass.com/ Or you could put an SSH server on your home network and forward the ports required for it, then tunnel your session via puTTY SSH port forwarding. Something tells me that the OP has no clue about any of that ... O
  3. Correct ... that would come from "IT management dorks" ... like me . O
  4. :0:1 3rd weekend in a row without jumping ... temperature in the 50s and low 60s - too cold for my "candy arse" ... Beer owed for getting my C-license. O
  5. So, which one is it? You call them both "dorks" and "smart" - you seem conflicted ... O
  6. Cutest ... the kind of stuff that makes me smile, no matter what I feel like at the moment
  7. You do realize that one doesn't need to be married to come home to someone ... or have someone come home to him/her ... One doesn't need a piece of paper to have companionship an love in his/her life. O
  8. You see … when I was 24 years old and in love, I too was driven by the bliss of my ignorance and naiveté … my relationship was wonderful and I was so arrogant as to believe that the downfalls of all other people whom have loved and lost before me will not apply to me and my relationship. When I got married, I would have bet my life that I/we would be smarter and luckier and more perseverant than all those other people … if someone told me that statistically I only have a 50% chance of making it, I dismissed them as being jealous of my happiness. With that being said, don’t let us jaded divorcees rain on your parade. You are young, in love and full of hope … just because you might get married one day and you might get divorced one day years after that, it doesn’t diminishes or devalues the love you feel today. As for your statement “that the people who are against marriage have experienced a bad marriage because of the person they chose to marry” … that’s the arrogance I mention above speaking. You not so subtly imply that the marriage failed because of choosing the wrong person to marry … in actuality, it’s never that simple … but you too will learn that lesson … in time. O
  9. Duh ... thanks Captain Obvious ... (I get what you subtly imply though ... no marriage to begin with = no divorce to deal with later.) O
  10. Often? Perhaps ... Always? Not at at all ... The day I got confirmation of my (ex)husband cheating, I packed my clothes and moved out. He kept the house and everything in it ... including our dog . O
  11. You “used to think” … but don’t exercise that skill anymore? You clearly didn’t before making this statement ... O
  12. Many many yrs ago I believed in marriage and thought one day I would get married. Now a bit older and wiser, I do not see any real reason anyone has to get married. If you are happy in the relationship you are in, why add marriage to the mix? You have to pay to get married, pay to get divorced, in many cases continue to pay the after wards, and then you lose half you shit. Only way I would ever say yes to get married is if I lost my damn mind. I am a FEMALE saying this. Right on ... Been there and done that ... twice ... and I can tell you with certainty you are missing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. There is no fastest or more certain way to kill sex, romance, love ... than getting married. There are those that trully find their "soul mates" and make it work - they are trully blessed, but those are exceptions ... I still encounter the miss-conception that as a female, if nobody puts a rock on your finger you are somehow less good, less worthy, less acomplished ... but if you find yourself wanting to get married just to prove them otherwise, you are screwing yourself (and not in a good way). And ... lets not confuse being against marriage with being against committed relationships or monogamy - not the same thing ... at all. O
  13. 1. You may be able to untangle it. 2. You may be able to remove the helmet and untangle, or cutaway if not a base jump. An extra 10-15 seconds can be quite a bit when trying to sort out a mal. Really? I don't see 10 - 15 seconds as a lot ... especially when you have to deal with unbuckling your helmet that hasn't been fitted with a cutaway system ... Perhaps I'm a slow old lady while all the young cool dudes have super-fast reflexes (i.e. mad skillz ) ... O
  14. Instead of giving my "thoughts", I'll just provide you a link: http://www.flyingchipmunk.com/skydiving/small-format-camera-incident/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=small-format-camera-incident BASE death that took place yesterday ... bridle entaglement with the helmet mounted GoPro . Now that we got the "GoPro will snap right off during an entaglement" out of the way, before we argue that in skydiving we got more time to deal with such situations, pehaps you'll want to consider this: what will 10 - 15 extra seconds buy you when your bridle is tangled with your small camera and you got no means to cut it away??? O
  15. Great picture - congratulations on becomeing a TI!!! O
  16. I jumped with Bolas a few times now ... I survived and no, I don't have mad skillz ... O
  17. Congratulations on the A-license ... it must be exciting ... it has been a long time coming. O
  18. :0:0 Windy Saturday, so I went hiking. Wind and clouds moved in just as I arrived at the DZ on Sunday - no jumpy ... O
  19. Today, I've seen the comment, "If she had to kill someone, it is more fair to kill the guy". A little more than tired of that. That shows as much logic as the feature characters in this drama. Thats the thing, she didnt HAVE to kill anyone... If she didnt like sharing, find a new man who felt the same way. Yep … it seems so simple … but we are discussing this from a logical point of view. Since her actions defy logic, I bet if we tried making this point to her, she’d look at us like we have two heads. I guess its pointless trying to understand why … murders rarely, if ever, make sense. O
  20. Today, I've seen the comment, "If she had to kill someone, it is more fair to kill the guy". A little more than tired of that. That shows as much logic as the feature characters in this drama. Perhaps you'll want to read again ... that is quite far off from what was said
  21. Question to the group ... While what this deranged poor soul did is beyond human decency, if she had to sabotage someone's rig, why not the guy's rig? He is the one who rejected her ... he is the one who slept with her on Fridays while sleeping with the other woman on Saturdays (according to the roommate, quoted in one of the articles). Nobody deserved to die here, but if you are so crazy as to kill someone, I think she totally missed the mark ... O
  22. I've been looking for "a rainy weekend" all summer ... so that I can catch up on errands, shopping, etc. We've had gorgeous sunny days, but too much wind instead .... and since it wasn't clear that the skydiving day is a wash, I'd go to the DZ anyway ... and work on my tan . It is starting to get cold up here ... I'll have enough time for errands and shopping ... until snowboarding season starts!!! O
  23. ... and down it goes again .
