My lowest exit was 3000ft ... aircraft emergency. "Voluntarily", my lowest exit was 3,500ft for 1 of 2 hop n' pops I had to do during AFF. The lowest I'd exit ... 1000ft ... if the plane is on fire :) O

Since I’ve recently witnessed what I’ve dreaded since the day of my first jump (someone “go in”), I have plenty of thoughts to add to the discussion. However, after reading the OP, I’m rather confused … it starts out talking about the effects of fatalities have on our collective psyche, but then not so subtly morphs into the somewhat political discussion about swooping and why it’s bad for you (as an individual and as a community) ...

Having a relationship I invested 10 years in blow up and abruptly end has definitely changed my behavior as far as relationships go. Picky? No … not more or less than before. Perhaps a bit more wiser and a tad commitment phobic. I still enjoy being in one (committed) relationship rather than “date” around, but the thought of marriage makes me think of chains and shackles … and not in an S&M kind of way

How did we make the leap from "not taking offense" to "being vain"??? Never mind ... I just remembered that things go this way on here all the time

Well, I dont think I fit all the requirements..... I AM a dirty pirate though! What requirements are you missing besides the jump and boobie jello shot? And don't use being a guy as an excuse. We have plenty of guys that are dirty pirate hookers. And even one or two more who want to do their initiation at this boogie. hell even the male pimp wench will be there. so really no excuse. We'll have corsets, pimp wenches, skydiving, & boobie shots (might have to settle for rum & not jello though, unless a local wants to bring us some jello shots. *HINT*HINT* PLEASE ) There's nothing stopping you! I've already committed to making/bringing the jello shots ... there will be plenty :) O

Yes, they do ... I mostly freefly ... I haven't done it in a corset yet ... thinking Tiki might be a good time to try. I already have a very fast fall rate ... should be intreresting how it goes without my (somewhat) slower suit ... O

Very cute ... congratulations!!! Is the new found parenthood the reason for you quitting? On a second thought, it doesn't matter ... skydiving is one of those things - if it doesn't feel right, no point in doing it. Best of luck! O

Since its only 85 miles from my place, I really got no excuse ... I should be there that weekend (milestone birthday ... I'm turning 30 ) ... O

Excellent. Shah is going to convince the next generation to be insecure, self-loathing, judgmental, misogynistic, and vaguely racist about their careers, too. I doubt it ... you give him waaaaay too much credit ... O

I have been back for a few days and I already miss Lost Prairie … being “high” from hypoxia … the “holly shit” fast landings … chilling at the lake … Doc’s yummy dinners … making new friends for life … the incredibly “big (night) sky” I haven’t ever seen before; I even miss the tent and the Prairie dust that got everywhere ... None of my silly “city girl” fears came true and everyone made sure to give me loads of crap about it. I wasn’t cold at night, the bears didn’t eat me and I didn’t miss the “comforts of civilized world” one bit; actually, not having cell phone coverage and Internet access for the entire week was a welcomed break from the shackles of technology. There is just one thing I wish I didn’t have among my memories of Lost Prairie – witnessing someone “go in” for the first time ... While on the cross-country sunset jump, taking in the majestic views and reflecting on the experiences I’ve had all week, I made the decision that I will never miss the yearly Lost Prairie boogie going forward. See you all next year … or sooner (at drop zone around the country). Oh … and next year I won’t miss jumping with Mad John … well, I’ll probably end up doing that in Nicaragua in the Spring
