Just as I got my license winter arrived here, so I traveled to different drop zones as I wanted to continue jumping - 126 jumps at 7 different DZs. I never had trouble meeting people, making friends or finding someone to jump with me. I know what you'll say ... I'm a girl, so it's easy - not so!!! I tend to be shy and most say I am unapproachable. To compensate, I make an effort to smile, make eye contact, start a conversation, etc. I understand the concept of "cliques", I've had to deal with it in other aspects of my life, but never since I started skydiving. Some drop zones are friendlier than others (Zhills was most friendly, Perris was least), but in general, it is easy to meet people and make friends ... if you got some basic social skills that is. So, I think you nailed it - blame others for your own inadequacy is what's going on

Good morning gang - last day at the office without a boss (I have been working that way for almost 4 months) - new chief starting Monday ... as a result, I expect I'll be very busy for a few months. Also, I look forward to being able to take some vacation - tired of keeping the boat (department) "floating" all on my own. If weather is good, I look forward to a few more jumps this weekend, perhaps resume freefly coaching as well. O

Whoa!!! You go girl - he is a keeper. Most guys stop paying attention rather quickly. If they got you, they stop because they achieved their "goal". If they didn't get you, they stop because "it's too much work". I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I've been with men who lack basic romance skills. I'm rather pragmatic and very practical and they may take their que from that ... I don't know ... I'm a girl and like to be treated as such, regardless of how "strong and independent" I am. It is little things that get me so it doesn't "cost" a lot to win my heart - but one must try ... for more than a week ... O

When my American girl friend gave me dating advice and explained to me "the rules", I just stood there in disbelief. That is some fucked up shit!!! He likes you ... you like him ... have fun and be happy. That conversation kinda turned me off from dating American boys -- when she explained to me that they expect me to "play the game" and if I don't, they'll think I'm "easy", my "type" just changed to "foreign men only".
