  1. WTF, you damn young single skydivers. How the hell do you get off flying across the country while some of us have to stay here and work. Wait a minute, you're gone and I'll have to do more jumps. Tom starts helping Seb pack. Can I drive you to Davis for your plane?? You had better take a camera and photos. I want photo proof of every/any story. :::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, .. Why are these "Extra" Lines Draping Down??, Damn!

  3. All I can say is DAMN!!!!! Now for the question: If you are jumping a 120 with an exit weight of #535 to give a wing loading of 4.5 to 1, ARE you testing for a canopy to be used at a "normal" jump weight. Say that you have an exit weight of 180 pounds. In order to load the wing at 4.5:1 you would be jumping a 40 sqft canopy. Please tell me you are not testing to develop a 40
  4. I agree with following the manufacturers recommendations for the parachute. That's why, with my Monarch, I do roll and tuck the nose in to slow the opening because that is what Precision recommends. Breezy Shaw of Precision said this about rolling the nose: "There are several methods and theories about slowing inflation by this method, but we've found that rolling our cells in a tight roll and inserting the roll into the center cell, repeating the procedure for the other side, works quite well. Some people theorize that this method can put stress on the seams and stiching of the center cell, but we've found no evidence that this is the case. And this method seems to do the best job of retarding inflation of the canopy". I have tried various methods of packing. I try and stay with what is recommended and what works for me. :::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, .. Why are these "Extra" Lines Draping Down??, Damn!

  19. I think it is best to get off the front risers (or rear if you are "running" back) and let the canopy ride the turbulence in it's "stock" configuration. Get ready with those breaks if you have to steer through a collapsed end cell, or the canopy needs some breaks to help stay inflated (like 1/4 brakes). And do as others have said, Find a safe open place to land and save the fun for later. Blue Skies :::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, .. Why are these "Extra" Lines Draping Down??, Damn!
  20. As you see the pilot chute pass your foot...... You think "This is probably going to hurt......maybe real bad".......Wack. I don't think you were gonna die from that position. I have seen worse on video and in the air. However, it is a good reminder to try and STAY AHEAD OF THE POWER CURVE. Blue Skies :::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, .. 25. Some skydivers take dirt-diving a TUBE a little too serious. I know where to hold on, I'm not putting my head there again until we get out of the plane........... BTW, on of the guys had a protrack on our last tube. It was 6-way with 3 side-by-side in two rows. The protrack said we were at 265 mph max. We held it waaaay too long. :::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, .. Why are these "Extra" Lines Draping Down??, Damn!
