Numbers = 1 jump with a naked guy:20:and 0... I'm not buying beer for taking a naked guy on a tandem..... However, that was a very importantant stand-up landing. They spoke with the tandem instructors... Good news, three of the next students want to go naked... Bad news for Kevin and Tom, two are guys.. How do you define a High Performance Landing?

I would agree that it would seem to be any landing that you intentionally accelerated your canopy before the flare. However, I have seen people get hurt under a "high performance" parachute without even attempting to speed up the landing. It was just a very fast straight-in approach... I guess that would be a "low-performance" landing wouldn't it?? Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!! -

Hmmm, North CA. Monterey Bay = $16 to 16K weekend. Hollicoaster = Sunset jump onto the beach (Sunset Beach). I'm sure there will be some other activities also. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!

Yep, if it is in your budget, go ahead and take the AFP course now and do the jump. You may love it, you may not. If you wait a year, you take the course again - good practice

I didn't get to set off any of the charges.. The guy in charge was previous Military Demolitions and had worked for oil drilling companies also... I was just impressed that he was in his 60's and still had all his fingers. In that line of work, you have to be smart - It won't help if your just tuff. Sorry, I wasn't about to try and get the photo looking into the well when those things went off. They set off the charges in several sections. The largest string was about 15 feet. Not very loud until they were setting off the last string from 80 down to 92 feet. It is all pretty stable stuff. But to be working around the explosives while the technician just drug the line on the ground was a pretty funny feeling.. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!

Very Cool stuff. One of the old production water wells was destroyed near my environmental cleanup site today. The water well was 132 feet deep and constructed with a 10-inch steel casing. The responsible party decided to use explosive/fracture to destroy the well. Pretty damn cool to watch/inspect. The first photo is a blasting cap, the fast fuse, and a couple of charges. The second photo is a string of charges about 12 feet long. Very loud down at 80 feet deep Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
