Yeah, there's a picture of her in our local paper this morning and to tell you the truth, I think the tattoo looks trashy for this "wholesome" pageant and her choice of footwear with the bikini she's wearing looks like shit. Shaw would like that. He'd be too intimidated by her. Always be kinder than you feel.

I have VIP seats for the parade and the pageant. Not sure if I'm actually going but... It would be cool if her "show me your shoes" would be a pair of Vans with grass stains. Always be kinder than you feel.

I didn't reread the article but if IIRC, isn't this guy's father a physician? I believe when this story initially came out a while ago that played into why she took the pills from the boyfriend. I think he said the pills were from his dad, the doctor. Always be kinder than you feel.

It was his french maid outfit that gave it away, right? Pretty sure Norman Mclean wrote that one dude in Missoula was into Flapper wear when not on the line. He was wearing a jeans mini-skirt, a light purple tank top, flip flops, full make up, matching necklace and earrings and a Coach purse. His nails were french manicure, IIRC. I think his pedi color was bright pink, IIRC. I thought I had a secret squirrel cell phone pic of shim but it was of a guy at the beach in a thread bare banana hammock. Oh, his Sugar Daddy looked like he was dug up from the local cemetery. Sorry for the thread drift.... Always be kinder than you feel.

Sounds like he was dropping cargo pallets, slipped, and accidentally rode one out. HUNDREDS of times? I asked if he wanted to meet me at Skydive Key West and jump with me. I know they're a tandem factory and don't fly funjumpers any longer but I hate when people lie to me face and wanted to let him know I knew he was full of shit without being toooooo douchey. In Key West, I met a cross dressing man (with his sugar daddy) who was getting his nails done at the station next to me. He was about 6'2", skinny as a rail, and claimed he was a smoke jumper "in his younger years" (he's about 50 now). He said they jumped from a water tanker plane at about 300' with 500 pounds of gear on, not static line. I said impressive and just laughed on the inside. Always be kinder than you feel.

+1 I'm not happy about her stating publicly she was happy the other athlete failed on her attempt. I mean, if you wanna keep that in your head that's on you, but to say it and look mean spirited about it, yikes. Plus, for the detractors to float the cheating shadow, well that sucks too. Frankly, I believe her effort was honest but I'm not a fan of unsportswoman like statements. Always be kinder than you feel.

To tell you the truth these things scare the hell out of me. A couple of the guys at the DZ have them and they're cool and fun to watch but at the same time I've seen them crash and it's always been in the back of my mind that I hope no one gets hurt. My brother has a couple of these things. He owns a video surveillance company. I asked if he can put some internet linked cameras on one of his RC helos and hover over my neighbors across the street so I can see WTF is in their backyard since they seem to love spending every waking moment hanging on their front lawn and walking their dogs there too. It's possible to do but he wouldn't do it for me. Always be kinder than you feel.

No kidding. She's been working on this for 30-something years. You have to admire her single-mindedness. Actuallyyyyyyyyyyyy..... she gave up swimming for 30 years and began again when she was 60! That's what makes it even more inspiring to me!! Always be kinder than you feel.

The Maroney woman did it years ago but with a shark cage which apparently helped her along the current (read that somewhere). Diana Nyad is doing it shark cage free. I wish I was standing there on Smathers when she completes this awesome feat of athleticism, dedication and willpower!! I'm in awe of a 64 year old woman (or man for that matter) who can conquer the Florida Straits! Hell, I'll get seasick just 7 miles out at the Vandenberg if I'm not taking medication!! HAHA!!
