  1. That's a rude thing to say about my neighbor.
  2. Hey Jerry, It looks like you just pushed me into the 2,000 club. How timely!
  3. I suspect that a lot of Trump's swing voters will be having some serious remorse when they come to realize what they've done. Not all of them, of course, because a good fraction are too ill-informed/stupid to figure it out.
  4. Post #332 wasn't me. Facts aren't your thing, are they?
  5. Interesting maybe, but chances are the one who comes out will be the nastiest, most evil of the lot.
  6. I'd normally wait until after the year completes, but not possible this year, so: It is now certain that 2024 will be the hottest year ever recorded. https://www.npr.org/2024/12/24/nx-s1-5230783/2024-hottest-year-record-heat-climate-change-el-nino#:~:text=Hourly News-,2024 was the hottest year on record.,was even hotter than expected. Even hotter than predicted. We even had temperatures in the 50s (F) here in Chicago yesterday. Stay warm!
  7. Yesterday (Saturday) Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, said of Elon Musk in a post on the social network Gettr, “He's a toddler in need of a wellness check from Child Protective Services." And Musk called Laura Loomer and her allies "contemptible fools". Looney Laura then attacked Musk for silencing her and she called Musk “a total f****ing drag on the Trump transition. He’s a stage 5 clinger who over stayed his welcome at Mar a Lago in an effort to become Trump’s side piece." Sure looks like the inmates are going to be in charge of the asylum come January 20.
  8. You know you won't get any, because none exists.
  9. Musk gets it right. https://www.cnn.com/2024/12/27/politics/video/elon-musk-laura-loomer-foreign-workers-visa-digvid-src
  10. I always thought this was a pretty good representation:
  11. Data analysis is not your thing either, nor is critical thinking. You ignore all the data that disagrees with your need to have killer toys; when challenged you only come up with a single suggestion, and that's one that's been proven not to work. You ignore all suggestions that are known to work from comparitive analysis between nations and from comparison between states in the USA. You are a hypocrite and a troll and not worth further engagement.
  12. I doubt your regular cop is a professional criminologist or statistician.
  13. Further to this, not only is the USA an international outlier with respect to gun crime and an outlier with respect to incarceration, but even between states it is clear that higher incarceration rates do NOT lead to less gun crime. SO how about you give us a serious suggestion for reducing gun violence instad of one that's proven not to work.
  14. Some 40 times higher than in other wealthy nations. I wonder what they do differently? Oh, it must be the culture!
  15. Same as yours in telling us over and over and over about your time as a cop.
  16. The original suggestion came from employers of recent engineering graduates (not only ours) who identified a clear need for better communication skills. The Accreditation Commission (ABET) agreed. Of course, I'm sure YOU know better than members of the profession.
  17. You have suggested nothing in the way of concrete suggestions. All you care about is your access to your toys, despite everything you've written.
  18. I was a cop from 1968 to 1977. So just fuck off with your insults.
  19. We already do that. We have a greater % of our population incarcerated than any other nation. Clearly that does not work. Try again. The United States has the highest prison population rate in the world, 716 per 100,000 of the national population, followed by St Kitts & Nevis (714), Seychelles (709), U.S. Virgin Is. (539), Barbados (521), Cuba (510), Rwanda (492), Anguilla – U.K. (487), Belize (476), Russian Federation (475), British Virgin Is. (460) and Sint Maarten – Netherlands (458). However, more than half of countries and territories (54%) have rates below 150 per 100,000.
  20. Do you have any idea how stupid you come across?
  21. Just like your position. That is the whole point.
  22. Happens to be true, which is why it comes around so regularly.
  23. I presume you are aware that the USA is an outlier with respect to gun regulations and gun ownership among wealthy nations, and it is also an outlier with respect to shooting deaths of all kinds (murders, suicides, accidents) among the same group of nations. As one example, the USA has 46x the shooting death rate as the UK despite sharing a similar culture, language, legal system, etc. Do you think this is acceptable? And if not, what would YOU suggest is a way forward?
