When the cold war as active and physicists were looking for funding all the physicists had to say was the Russians are building one and they would get their funding. I am still confused by the "God Particle" title. What they have come close to proving or what they have amassed enough evidence to publish is they have found mass created on the sub atomic level. This is pretty big bc for about 40 yrs or so they have been working on this and it was an essential missing piece to Higgs Standard Model. Which may mean a change in Dr's....Oh and if you have a job in HR as a benefits manager...prepare to change careers because if your company isn't offering benefits it won't need you either. Just curious, now that the Gov't can tax what it likes when will we be mandated to join a fitness club, or only eat certain foods....of course there is no way for the gov't to pay for the costs of all of these benefits that the program lays out. Moderate's oppose Obamacare by a pretty big majority in every poll. what I find funny is the claim that the Supreme Court is conservatively moderate just yesterday everybody was decrying it as a nutty right wing court what would have shot down the Equal Rights amendment - and kept slavery in place, etc etc etc at the least, it was described as violently split down partisan lines but get just one ruling on a big issue, and now half the crowd suddenly shifts and now thinks they are the greatest thing since bacon and everybody knows there's nothing greater than bacon I freakin love Bacon!

As much as I feel the governments have grown out-of-control and dislike taxes I think it's a bad idea since it shifts more of the tax burden from businesses (which are paying property tax (perhaps indirectly as part of their rent ) regardless of how profitable they are on paper) to the citizens (who will eventually make up any short fall with higher income or sales tax rates). A better option is passing a law like Colorado's Taxpayers Bill Of Rights which prohibits tax collections increasing faster than the product of inflation and population growth where any excess must be refunded to the tax payers and spending is cut back to sustainable levels whenever there's a recession unless the people choose to pay more tax to support issues they support like local schools. Apart from the voter approved tax increases, under such a law people who stay in the same home see their property taxes drop over time in real dollars as their building depreciates and new more valuable properties are built. People are free to move without impacting their tax situation and new arrivals don't pay disproportionately high taxes for similar properties as under California's Proposition 13 which also protects the citizens from onerous growing property tax bills. Not a Dr. but yeah, he suffered major TBI! and he nor his family would listen to friends pleas to get help. Sadly, this arrest, may be the best thing for him. All deductions would be off the table initially, then Congress can fight for their favorites so long as they hit the target.
