What personal attacks are you talking about? Are you equally disgusted by the personal attacks on Obama? I am by all of them but Obama and his Super Pacs have gone too far. Romney and his pacs attack Obama's record and but the left accuses Romney of murder. Very different. I guess it swayed a lot of people.... http://www.people-press.org/2012/10/08/romneys-strong-debate-performance-erases-obamas-lead/ The reason... Obama has done NOTHING but attack Romney and the people saw for the first time that the attack adds are just that.... Romney has been attacked on a personal level that has disgusted me and many others. Now Obama has a choice and it seems like he is going to make the wrong one and double down on that strategy. It will hurt him even more but then again... what else can he say? "Just give me four more years and I promise it will get better. I know I said that the first time but I'm serious this time." Another shake of the Etch-a-Sketch. What does Mitt stand for, except saying whatever his audience of the moment wants hear. So you've never mis-spoken and apologized? Obama hasn't :-( Latest polls show Romney in a tie or ahead in Ohio, Virginia, & Florida...... I have put a couple hundred jumps on mine (FF) and it is solid. The latching mechanism is great and easy to use. I open my shield under canopy a lot and it is very easy to do. My clear shield experienced what seemed to be cracking but it was just really build up that can be wiped away. This was a flaw in the anti-fog which I am pretty sure has been addressed. I have had no issues with my tinted shield doing this. Very comfortable to wear. Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Massive Republican voter registration fraud uncovered in Florida
Rstanley0312 replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Really? How does that compare with the number of cases in Indiana or Pennsylvania, which prompted the GOP to try to disenfranchise thousands of elderly and poor citizens? Kall..... from you I just heard blah, blah, blah. The GOP discovered this and took action. It was clearly not something that was an effort by the party or a group supporting the party like ACORN. I know.... you think the GOP is so dirty and pulls this crap. I think that the Dems are dirty and pull this crap. One thing is for sure.... we should have to present an ID to vote like in Canada.... or like that one very liberal state passed... who was that again? Oh ya.... Rhode Island. Those Dems thought it was a great idea to protect the sanctity of the vote. I'd have no objection to ID requirements IF, and ONLY IF, the state was pro-active in ensuring that ALL its eligible citizens got the ID free of charge and with no hassle. Expecting an elderly, disabled, non driving CITIZEN to travel 17 miles to a DMV facility and wait 3 hours in line is totally unacceptable (reported on NPR yesterday). Oh..... Oh .... NPR. Now you have convinced me. I am pretty sure most if not all of these laws come with a free ID piece them. Makes the GOP's attempts to disenfranchise the poor and elderly in the name of preventing "fraud" (and their support in doing it on this forum) look like a bad case of "he doth protest too much methinks" Why isn't FOX covering it? Have you guys even read about what happened from anywhere else other than the most left wing major news outlet? The GOP caught this themselves and took action. It seems like it is a case of one or a couple workers doing this. It is very different when an organization does this for political gain (ACORN). The GOP discovered it and took immediate action stating there is not room ofr voter fraud and they will not have it. Oh and "Massive"? Reports say in the hundreds..... I am not sure what your concept of "massive" is but hundreds does not seem to fit that bill. I just want to say sorry and I also want you to know this is not how the skydiving world works. This booking agency along with skyride are a cancer that we as a community have fought against. This is from the APF incident reports summary distributed by the USPA. Pretty interesting that a novice (A licence jumper) ended up with a 2 out and shows that problems aren't unique to a single brand. For those that aren't familiar an "A" license here, is very restrictive, so unlike the US there is a strong motivation to get onto a "B" ASAP. Only mentioned because I have friends in the US with 1000+ jumps still on A licenses. So this would have been a novice on a suitably loaded canopy. Not a "misfire"! This jumper should not have been jumping a student CYPRES. The unit did as it was supposed to..... sorry.... misfire's seem to be a problem only one aad manufacturer has right now. He was dead on in PA and just missed in IA. Average error was a very good 2.3 points, with NJ and AZ the only states where he wasn't within three points of the final spread. I guess we have with Gallup polls showing Obama only ahead by 1 among registered voters and Rasmussan showing Romney ahead by 2 among likely voters. There are also states that are up for grabs that Obama never thought he would have to spend any real money on... clearly it's too bad for Romney. Oh and nice quotes btw..... what a joke. Romney does give a shit about the poor
Rstanley0312 replied to Fearjoburg's topic in Speakers Corner
Isn't that true? To a significant degree, yes. In the context of the federal deficit, 40-50% (varies by economy) do not contribute federal income taxes. I do believe it is difficult to get a majority to care about the deficit when so many don't participate at all. This has lead both parties to conclude that more programs and lower taxes are ways to win votes, regardless of the red ink. Meanwhile, regressive sales taxes and ever increasing FICA taxes and state taxes (depending- some states have income or sales taxes, a very few have neither) do still hit this group of people. Not directed at you but I do not think Obama gives a shit about the poor or he would do something to stop it's increase. http://www.manhattan-institute.org/html/ir_23.htm#.UFisPo2PV8F Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Romney does give a shit about the poor
Rstanley0312 replied to Fearjoburg's topic in Speakers Corner
Sure, I'd love to believe this is the way it is as well, because I'm not an Obama fan, but if you look at the numbers its very likely the majority of that 47% are working class citizens that aren't receiving any special govt entitlements, they are merely taking advantage of a tax system that has benefits written into the laws that prevent a lot of working class families from paying "federal income tax". Keep in mind most these people are still paying FICA, and state taxes, and are probably not on any type of govt assistance, unless you count their tax deductions that lead them to paying no federal income tax as some sort of "govt entitlements". Either way, this is a huge gaff by Romney, its just whether or not the huge portion of his voters that are in that 47% make the connection that they are in that 47%. But I think it was a gaff and nothing more. If Romney realized the reality of those numbers, I don't think he'd be dumb enough to make a comment like that especially since he never made the connection that many of those 47% are in his voting base. I disagree.... not a gaffe at all and it will have little to no impact on anything. The media will cover it like crazy thinking it is a big deal but thats bc they all want to blow Obama. What Mitt said is true for the most part. He cannot worry about those who will vote to be fed by the government. This whole election comes down to the debates. This election is so similar to Reagan v Carter it's scary..... Mitt is not Reagan but Obama is worse then Carter. The debates will be interesting. The other factor is turnout. If the dems cannot get the turnout they got in 2008 or at least close... they will lose. Most of the polling out there is being weighted in terms of the turnout seen in 08 which I doubt will happen. Look at Rasmussan if you want a real picture of where the race stands. Before any of you states he leans right blah, blah, blah..... He was dead on in the 2008 election and has been very accurate in polling. Only Pew was close to him. This race is dead even in the states that matter so turnout will be huge. I do not think the dems will have it this time and I think that the GOP will have some of their highest levels. It is indeed a national disgrace that teachers are so poorly compensated in most US cities. You could argue that most jobs are "poorly compensated". The bottom line is most have been taking pay cuts and these teachers are getting a raise but because it isn't ig enough to them they strike. Who is greedy in this situation? You might want to read a less biased source than NR Online. The big disagreement is not about pay. The Chicago Tribune has more reliable information. On NPR the lady who is the Spokesperson for the Union said, on pay they see eye to eye, on the Health Benefits and retirement, they do not (City wants to provide less $ for the same coverage and ask the Teachers to help pay?) and this is the reason for the strike. Matt That's crazy... you mean they would have to help pay for their own healthcare? Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. President Obama's speech was...and the job report means....
Rstanley0312 replied to mirage62's topic in Speakers Corner
"A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest". P. Simon. And you already told us that facts play no role in your life unless they have a GOP slant. The simple fact is the speech was just okay. Several liberal folks agree on that. There were some really good speeches made but Obama's was not one of them and he is the key. I think it hurts him more because there is such an expectation out there. I really believe there were undecideds watching to see if he could get them jazzed like he did before but he failed at that. It will not lose the election for him but it did nothing to help him. Early surveys are showing no bounce out of the convention. I do not think the big bounces of the past are possible anymore with all of the spin. That said, little bounces are possible. The GOP got one but the dems are probably not going to get anything out of it. Did anyone realize he said nothing about his signature piece of legislation or about the bailouts? I think that is smart but it is easily pointed out as well to work against the left. Unless Romney sucks in the debates I would say this election is going to be won by the right.
