I've lived with MANY people, from both points of view. In my house and in other houses. I find that being a grown up, being respectful and decent seems to work pretty well. Dont have any real horror stories, had some shitty roomates and such. If you can put up with with livin with me your probly gonna do alright. I wonder if any of my old roomtes have horror tories about me? Have you seen my pants? it"s a rough life, Livin' the dream >:)

This is an unsatisfactory response froma company that wants my money. This is why they arent getting it again. quoted form an email from Aviacom. I'm not pissed off that I lost money or had my rig temporarily grounded while I got another AAD. I am pissed off with they way they handled the situation. If they really had confidence that their product would work they easily could have have sent a bunch of cutter to random riggers and said here ya go. make them fail. I know a few riggers who would have a great time doing this. Have you seen my pants? it"s a rough life, Livin' the dream >:) -

The email I got from Karel from argus a couple days after they were banned in australia was anything but helpful. He immediatly stated that there was nothing wrong with the unit and that it was all politics blah, blah blah... A more appropriate response would have been something like, "we are away of a reported incident and are awaiting further information" there have been independent tests done where the incident has been recreated. I stand by my statement that their customer service, or the way they handled this situation was shit! While everyone was trying to find real technical information about the possible issues with the unit all argus did was place blame on others. Its a technique used in demos too, makes you turn/dive fast. When I was doing classic accuracy it was a technique used to burn off altitude quickly when your flying a boat of a canopy. I was jumping a parafoil 282 loaded at 0.7 and I could get it to turn descend pretty fast this way. Have you seen my pants? it"s a rough life, Livin' the dream >:)

So i Just did a quick job search on monster for job in my field. I'm a welder... I did a 6 months of formal training. The rest of my certification I have gained on the job. Pretty much every city I looked at in the US had jobs advertised, with wages ranging from 30-50K+ Can't be that hard to find work. Have you seen my pants? it"s a rough life, Livin' the dream >:)

dude, the manufacturers banned the use of the argus after they recieved reports that this AAD may have fired locking a reserve container closed. I think that is an appropriate response when you think about the seriousness of that situation. It was then left up to aviacom to respond to this issue. They did nothing about it, actually they said it was nothing but a conspiracy against them.... not the response I want from the company that build my aad. I had an argus and was affected by this before the most people were as the Australian Parachute Federation banned them in 2010. Yes I was pissed off but the way Aviacom handled the situation pissed me off even more. They may have a product that works, but they have shit customer service. So it cost me a few hundred dollars to figure out I will never deal with them. Oh well. Hey if you want to go after someone who has cuased financial loss to skydivers why dont ya look into Gary Lucas and Karage Krew... there is soomeone who owes alot of skydivers around the world alot of money! Hey Mark, Thats was one of the hardest parts about not being in Canada. I would have loved to have been a part of the 100 way attempt. I was going to go to the one in perris but pulled out after hearing about the low numbers. Big exspense to get there from australia. Hopefully you guys can start a tradition of Canada day 100 ways! Yup, had to sell my unit at a discounted price and buy another AAD. But that was due to the APF grounding them (nov/10) and not the manufacturer. Have you seen my pants? it"s a rough life, Livin' the dream >:) -

my procedure goes like this. Deploy, check for other canopies, check for other canopies, check that my canopy looks good, locate Landing area. decide what I need to do to get to landing area, either turn canopy back towards landing area, or face into the wind using rear risers. Then I collapse and stow my slider, release toggles. You want to make sure your not flying away from the DZ while you are messing around with your slider. Yesterday I watched a novice jumper fly way down wind while he was busy stowing his slider. He ended up landing off. All he had to do was turn his canopy into the wind before stowing his slider. But hey, we were all happy to drink the beer he had to buy for landing off. Have you seen my pants? it"s a rough life, Livin' the dream >:)

Another simple trick that I use to keep my slider from catching air or moving back up once its collapsed is to twist it or roll it up a few times before I stow it behind my head. Have you seen my pants? it"s a rough life, Livin' the dream >:)

What dropzones are you looking at going to once you finish your AFF? The best thing you could do would be to call the local dropzones and ask them. You could also call the dropzone in Florida and see if any of their AFF instructors are also CSPA instructors. The best thing you can do is get into touch with the dropzones that you will be dealing with. There is a pretty good chance that people from the Canadian DZ will know people from the DZ in Florida and they can most likely work together to work with you. Hey John, Yeah, It looks like Alberta is the place to be this July! I've been following everything on FB. I wish I could be there but I' off having my own foolish adventure. I'v been to 12 dropzones in australia since sept and done close to 300 jumps. I still have 4 or 5 dropzones to visit and 2 boogies to attend before my year here is done. I could come back to Canada in september but I think my time will be better spent in Malaysia, thailand and New Zealand
