  1. I think Joe is refering to the central midwest, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. It's a large chunk of space with no turbine dz's. Skydive Chicago is the closest to where I'm at and that's over 7 hours away. KC would be less than half that distance. Skydive Radio
  2. Insert the word "turbine" into that sentence and I'm with you Joe I see I missed a call from you yesterday. Hows AZ treating you guys? Skydive Radio
  3. I agree. They should have used the second pic down on this page. Skydive Radio

    Which IPOD?

You can't go wrong with an iPod. Get the 60 if you can, 30 if you need to save the $100. I have an iPod 60 gig and an iRiver 1 gig. The iRiver is better suited for recording, but for playing your music there is just no comparison. The navigation on the iPod is the easiest out there by far. Other mp3 players are very awkward to navigate especially if you have thousands of songs on them. Don't listen to the nay-sayers. Get an iPod. You won't regret it. Skydive Radio
  5. You can pick them up on ebay for under $100. The one I have (videonics tm-2000) does video fades as well which is nice for the beginning and end of the video. Skydive Radio
  6. Still 4 weeks to submit an entry. Skydive Radio

  10. We just did a Pponk conversion to one of our 182's upgrading from the 0-470 to an 0-470-50. It took us from 230 hp to 270 hp and was well worth the money. Fuel burn only went up a gallon or so and we can hold manifold pressure much higher now. Something to think about if you end up with a 182 with a tired engine. -Dave Skydive Radio

  15. We have already received some good entries. The bar has been set. A reminder though, please send your entry as a full resolution .avi file. Some of the entries we received were in compressed formats such as .wmv and .mpeg. This is not good because we have to do yet another round of transcoding to make them compatible with the video iPod, so please....full resolution .avi files only. Skydive Radio

  19. I just bought a second TRV-30 to have as a spare. Maybe I should get a third. I wonder if there is any way to build a cameye like device that works through the firewire port? Skydive Radio
  20. Who else will be playing? Any chance we can hit 40 this week? Skydive Radio
  21. You should choose your video lens to match up with your still lens. You want both cameras to have the same field of view so that your stills come out framed the same as your video. For tandems I use a kenko .5 with a 28mm fixed lens on my still camera. These lenses match up almost perfectly. As for fogging issues, if the conditions are right you are going to get condensation regardless of the lens you are using. There are anti fog products out there that will help with this. Cat Crap seems to be the choice of many photogs here. Skydive Radio
  22. I just couldn't bring myself to tell him he looked like our club dummy. And yeah that was in Pittsburgh. For those interested here are a few more pics of Elmo. I think you will really like the last one of Elmo and Jim. Those are some damn fine shorts you got there Twardo. Skydive Radio
  23. I totally agree. However, in this particular video I don't think he was ever actually on top of them. Looked to me like he was orbiting tight but never directly above. Also, it's hard to say how close he really was without knowing what lens he was using. As for the video...funny as hell guys. Are you aware of the video contest we are running at skydive radio? Check it out here. Skydive Radio
