I agree that there is less stuff to concentrate on without the freefall aspect but they aren't exposed to more canopy experience on the first few jumps from what i can see as they ext at 3.5? where as aff deploy at 5/6 then usually continue at around 4.5 after aff untill off their consols.
-
I'll give you that, but I'll argue that S/L-IAD students are better canopy pilots in those 25 jumps. Can i ask what different experience static line students get under canopy? (I did AFF so have no experience of static line)

I finished my AFF and A licence in Empuria and loved it the DZ's great, quick planes, lots of lifts, and a beach for when you dont want to jump. I would reccomend trying to do all your consols out there aswell, makes coming back to England to jump so much easier Max

So what happens after AFF course HELP!
mx19 replied to chalko's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Chalko where are you from? As jsreznor said if you are to become a member of USPA you have to do 25 jumps at minimum but with BPA its only 18. If you are from the UK then you will be going with BPA and after you get A licence the next step everyone seems to take is to get FS1 which allows you to jump with other people. -
the bike is, as far as im aware, not an import so is of UK origin, I will look into that but the tester seemed to think it was just because it is kicking up to the right instead of the left so into the eyes of oncoming drivers. Also as i come from the UK i think they are governed by ECE regulations, so would i be allowed an SAE-compliant headlight instead?

I dont know but i will check when im home... Im pretty sure it isn't. My next port of call was a scrappy just a littles tight on cash atm . Cheers

Ok heres the deal... i took my 2001 R6 for an MOT today and have just been informed that it failed due to the headlamp being european (which i wasn't aware of) so the light kicks up to the wrong side . The garage have said that they tried to put tape over it so they could pass it but couldnt get it in the right position. Has anyone experienced this and found a quick fix? does anyone know if you can get the stickers to go over the lamp like ive been told you can for cars with the same problem? Cheers Max

I never had any intention of starting skydiving let alone even doing a tandem until it came to christmas 2007, had no idea what to ask for and just put it out there as an idea expecting nothing to come of it but obviously my parents took it seriously and got me a tandem... About 3 weeks before i was supposed to be doing the tandem i got a text from my dad saying he had been speaking to a friend and had decided to change my tandem for AFF1. After i did that i thought that it would be a waste of 6/7 hours ground training to never do it again. So here I am.

Me and a friend got into the habit of doing this a couple of years back... it worked brilliantly until the shop closed -
What jump number was your first cutaway?
mx19 replied to illusioneer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
jump 47, opened into twists... started spinning, kicked out of twists still spinning, tried to fight using risers, not happening, started to panic released one brake for some reason couldnt release other, then i realised i had lost altitude awareness so i had no idea even if i released both brakes if i could sort it then have enough time to cutaway if not so decided to chop. nicest opening and best landing and landing spot ive had... only been able to jump once since, not going to be able to jump until feb, reckon ill have first jump jitters again! -
From what ive been told anyone "A" licence and up can sign but its usually better to get "B" licence + MAx
