  2. Hi does anyone know if the labor size is different to the actual size on crossfire 1's as with the safire 1's? Cheers Max
  3. Also ballistic blondes in whangerei was a cool place to jump, they do beach jumps commonly and have a dz in pihia aswell. but I'm not sure about their rental gear. In taupo TTS have rental gear but you will need an nzpia licence, but I think you can get a temp one as long as you have like 200/250 jumps I think. Best to check nzpia website.
  4. Ove only felt the openings on my Safire 169 to be brisker than normal after I jumped a Safire 2 I now jump it every day with full camera set up, using packers and don't find the openings to be hard at all! Obviously this is my experiance and all canopies are different. (the packers and I don't do anything to the nose apart from sometimes pushing it slightly in but leaving centre cell out a little.
  5. Mines 1700 unless I'm miles out into the lake then it's about 2200 as we will have usually opened higher anyway. I use an aad.
  6. The foggings not inside the lens but in-between the wide angle lens and actual camera lens.
  7. I use 2 pc105's with a cookie .3 lens for tandem camera. One of the cameras I never have a problem with (this one had been used for skydiving for a while before I bought it) the other one had never bEen used for skydiving when I bought it and I am having problems with a spot of moisture in the exact centre (right where the passengers face is) that seems to start to appear as[url] the drogue inflates and gradually gets worse as the jump goes on . I keep the cameras and lens in the hot water cupboard over night to dry them out but this doesn't always work. Does anyone have any solutions? The moistue seems to be between he lenses. Cheers max
  8. Am about 6'4" and 200lbs aswell. I bought a new wings sized for a 170 main with a new 175 reserve and have had someone borrow my rig with a 129 who said it could even go a little smaller. So there is a lot to be said for ordering a new container and sourcing everything else second hand as you could get a lot out of it and this way u can diwnsize a few times and still have a big reserve.

    Demo suits

Hi does anyone know where to get a demo suit in New Zealand? Due to the small sport scene it is hard to get hold of one. Cheers
  10. We've had a few occasions at work with tension knots, most of the time they have been cleared by pulling down the riser then letting go quickly so as the riser returns to its normal position it takes the pressure off the knot.
  11. I haven't jumped at Lillo but have jumped a Ocana which is close to Madrid aswell, I loved it there, they were really friendly and on numerous occasions they came up to me as i was packing and said do you want to go on a 5 min call!
  12. And what custom shit will that be?

  14. Probably should have put in op but they were'nt h&ps they were from 15k
  15. Has anyone experienced this with a protrack? it works fine in freefall, beeps etc but then i check the logbook and sometimes it just doesn't record the jump but other times it will?? Max
  16. It took me from january until august to do the first five jumps! Itl be worth it in the end mate!
  17. Hey man My mate has just moved to one of the dzs in chicago to do a season pass or something, which basically means for around 3000usd he can jump on every other load for the whole season... Might be worth looking into.Quote
  18. I jumped one the other day with a hole cut into the slider, i was doin crw so didnt take it to terminal but it was the guy who i borrowed it off freefall rig and he had no complaints, what size is it?

  21. No one is as ignorant as others! thats what everyone thinks when they first start out! Tell us what makes you any different?
  22. There wern't amy assholish comments ive seen mate just people telling you to calm the fuck down, because they've all seen loads of people like you that are "smart" and "better than your average" but still do themselves damage and even die due to the fact they know (think!!!!!) they're "smart" and "better than your average"!! You've got 30 jumps, you don't know your fucking ass from your elbow, let alone your navigator from your sabre or how they fly. So listen to people with more experience than you and understand that it doesn't matter how "smart" you are or how conservitavely you will fly the canopy. When you get into that situation where you cant fly straight in or have to turn closer to the ground, You will wish you had more experience on a bigger canopy let alone your own size canopy! Get on a canopy course asap at least, before you do youself some damage and end up giving skydiving another bad name in the news. I know ive got low jump numbers and have been around for only 2 years but have seen many people like you already, but the majority realised what they were like and are still jumping. At least one i can think of at the moment is in a metal cage, (traction) permanantly at the moment and has been for the last year. (at 31 jumps!)
  23. I hope I never have to be in a pattern with you. I hate to say it but +1
