  1. Hahaha, I know that feeling ;)! So I am off student status, went up yesterday evening and completed my first real solo jump all I can really say is that I know this is only the beginning and I know it will just keep on getting better! *Much love the the kick ass skydivers I met at skydive san diego! Thank you! I WILL be seeing you guys way too much! blue skies "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  2. I just got home from the DZ. I accomplished alot today, AFF level 3,4 and 5, tomorrow is levels 6 & 7...sooo, I just don't know what type of beer, how much beer etc? to buy? Any advice? jess "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  3. I know but I just called to reserve....and they broke the news to me...no showers! only porta potties too, which isn't too bad, but I need a shower dammit haha. anyways hope you get everything figured out for your trip. pm if you have any questions! 4. I guess you know that the DZ has bunks you can rent as well for $8/night. No showers though haha. just thought I'd let you know in case that is an option. Have fun! "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  5. On my AFF 1 & 2 jumps, I told myself to fully expect a malfunction when my main canopy deployed ( just so I wouldn't loose precious time in shock lol) they will teach you your emergency procedures and I recommend that you be able to do them in your sleep, better safe than sorry. I was very worried about landing my canopy the first jump. But everything went well under my first canopy deployment, I found the DZ right between my legs and figuring out my holding area and landing pattern after that was quite easy. http://www.uspa.org/publications/SIM/2007SIM/section4.htm I suggest reading this, even buying it , the skydivers information manual, they have alot of information about landing patterns etc. GOOD LUCK! 6. $1390 is about average( 1200-1500), it does depend on where you live but the AFF is pricey compared to other alternatives. I waited until I got my tax return and paid for my AFF up front, that got me a slightly lower price altogether and then there is the whole other "second job" thing but ultimately it is worth it every time you fly right!?! blue skies, jess "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  7. There is a grocery store off of the 805 and telegraph canyon, other than that I don't know, I'd look up the zip code and do a google search for something closer. The DZ does grill burgers and hot dogs during the day for about $5. "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  8. welcome to the sport! i am just now going through my AFF, completed levels 1 & 2 and working on 3-7 over this long weekend! Let us know how your AFF progression goes! "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  9. You are going to want to rent a car for sure The DZ is located in Jamul (Otay lakes), if you look that up online you will see that it is a fair jaunt from the airport. Good luck! "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen

  17. Go for it! no room for pride when learning this sport....just like there isn't room for error! I took my daughter to the dz with me and we just hang out, talking to fun jumpers packing their canopies, talking to the dzo, watching people gear up then land. You are already dreaming about it, now you just need to fill in the blanks with the finer (correct hopefully) details. keep dreaming! blue skies jess "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  18. the best way to learn about jumping is from jumpers in person. go to the DZ and hang out and ask lots of questions. in my short time in the sport i have found no shortage of jumpers willing to share info and teach me things to help me become a better and safer skydiver. and if there's is anything jumpers love as much as jumping it's talking about jumping. don't worry about barely knowing people, just get out to the DZ, listen, ask and learn, and you'll have lots of new friends in no time. awesome advice! 19. The tunnel rocked, I think it is more difficult then actual freefalling just because there are walls! my 6 year old did it though! soooooo cute! I loved hanging out perris! awesome DZ. stay in touch maybe we'll run into eachother one day. "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  20. Drunken fall= head injury nose dived into coffee table while intoxicated, sliced open my forehead, broken nose, 2 black eyes, lots of blood and a fair amount of stiches.... that one sucked to explain haha. 21. no photos? (to back up your claim) "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  22. you don't know how far ahead I was thinking this through. I accounted the possibility that it would eventually cause me to lose interest in my main job. I think that's just me being silly. not as silly as you might think If I have to choose to buy a mac or take up an aff course, I would still go for the mac - I think it's still not too late to turn back? Life is tough indeed. i wouldn't choose the mac "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  23. If you're interested in anyone, pm me or one of the other ladies and we'll let you know if you should bother. for sure! "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
