worded too harshly to send to a school administrator?
skittles_of_SDC replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in The Bonfire
Her email: It may not sound bad to you guys but it drove me up the wall because of how she worded it after the way she treated our conversation earlier in the day. I also told her specifically that it still worked on the TV but not the cable box. So I guess she zoned out for the 10 seconds it took me to explain that. I was not the only one either. My other roommates found it a little offensive as well, granted not to the extent I did. -

This is the email I ended up sending: -

That's why I didn't send it. I was super pissed right after reading her email and that's when i wrote it. I've learned my lesson about saying things or sending emails that were written while I was mad. I put it here so I could find out if most people would think it was too far. -

Would it be more productive to speak to the school director about how this particular administrator treats students? She's a mean, disrespectful bitch to every student in the school not just myself. -

I know it's strongly worded but her disrespectful tone in her email and our conversation earlier in the day really got to me. edit: took out a random ...see more facebook threw in when i copied. -

AVC(HD?) editing hardware requirements

Actually I have another question already. If I set up a RAID array can I still use my IDE drive as the main boot drive? I have almost nothing on there file wise so it wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to back it up and start over. It'd just be a pain reinstalling all the software. -

Yeah, sorry I'm new to RAID. I figured that out after I had already made my post. -

I'd probably do 10 or 5 in that case. Because I want the speed too. -

I would love to get a SSD but I just spent $2700 to build this computer so I'm trying to keep the cost on additional components down as much as possible. I could get 2 1TB drives and do a RAID 10 setup for the same price as a 30GB SSD. It may not be as fast but the amount of storage and the redundancy almost make it worth it. -
You can have him. I'll take his ex girlfriend.

I did a search in the forums and came up with a few results but not a ton. I want to get a HD GoPro. First question would be does the fact that it is HD and uses the AVC codec automatically make it AVCHD? The main question though, which might be stupid based on my system requirements, is will my setup be powerful enough to edit AVCHD as I've read it's a real resource hog. System Specs: 2x Intel e5520 quad core @ 2.26 Ghz 16 GB DDR3 RAM Nvidia Quadro FX 1800 5400RPM 250GB IDE drive to be upgraded to SATA HDDs (server mobo that supports RAID) once I begin editing. again it might sound like a stupid question but I know nothing of editing and built the computer for modeling and composting and editing was an after thought. -
That's more the type of comparison I was looking for. Thank you. If I do take up SCUBA, NAUI it is.
-
I was just worried one might not be as widely accepted or the training might not be as thorough for one. Thanks for the clarification.
-
Thanks guys.

I haven't seen any US schools with CMAS or BSAC. My choices appear to be either NAUI or PADI.

Is one better than the other?

This newest project is pissing me off to no end so I'm going to go ahead and go crazy now. Don't mind the crazy guy in the background. Keep talking amongst yourselves.

That's not why FL sucks. No issues there. I hate it because of the weather.

Oh shit, ya'll use this thread on weekends? Ya'll get to doing whatever it is people do on a day off. I wouldn't know because I have over 24 hours worth of homework... again.
