Me too. It does not make life easy or "stress-free." Thankfully, I believe all of that is well behind me now.

ADORABLE!! I have always been fascinated by seahorses! I think they are beautiful!! Congratulation on the new baby(ies)!!

What a freaking idiot!! Did he HONESTLY think that would REALLY work??? UGH!!

I've never been there, but from what I have heard over the years (and PLEASE anyone correct me if I'm wrong) the dz isn't very "up-jumper" friendly. I heard once they charge a LOT for a regular jump out of their Cessna. Again, if I'm wrong, I'm fully open to correction.

I totally agree with you. I tried and tried and TRIED to tell her that it wasn't normal and she was most likely just so nervous... but she swore it had something to do with the way the jumped out and "hit" the outside air. Silly girl. But I love her just the same...

My girlfriend made 1 AFF and 2 tandem jumps before deciding skydiving is not for her. I swooped her on her 1st tandem and the poor girl COULD NOT breath. She said once she exited the plane, it was like all the wind was knocked out of her and she couldn't breath again until she was under canopy. I can never forget the look of sheer panic on her face on her tandem!! This happened on all 3 jumps she made. I know it doesn't usually happen, but apparently it DOES happen sometimes.

To those who sell gear at dz.com

I too have done business with Igor. Very nice guy!! Good and true to his word!! With all of the scams going on, it's always better to be safe than sorry. I would rather loose a deal than get screwed by a scam. -
Tom Berenger and Stephen Baldwin both went through AFF and got their A-licenses while filming "Cutaway." I'm not sure if they continued afterwards of not. I have been told that Nicole Kidman skydives, but I'm not sure of her "currancy." The same guy who told me she jumps said she had her A license, but like I said, I'm not sure.

I think you should tell him just what you said, since it's out of your own country, you would feel much more comfortable with him paying via Paypal. If he refuses, then something's up. Seller Beware. Good luck to you.

The freakiest sh*t I ever saw (paranormal)...
jumpergirl replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
A few weeks ago we lost our remote control. We turned our trailer upside down looking for it. We looking in the cabiniets, the fridge, the freezer, the bathroom, everywhere and could not find it. We looked for over an hour! Travis left to go to the store for something so I was home alone. I sat at my computer desk, put my head down on the desk (like you do in school) and began to meditate. I have never meditated before, so this was new to me. I tried to clear my mind and imagine myself on a beach, a peaceful place. I didn't "see" a beach in my mind but instead I was looking out at the most beautiful mountains I have ever seen. White capped, tall, clouds around the top, the works. So I started asking, "Where is the remote? What happened to it? Someone please tell me where it is." Suddenly I saw it sitting on the side of a mountain. Then I was "told" that it was between the wall and my computer tower (which sits on the floor). Well, there is no room for it to be there since the tower sits against the wall. I happened to look up a little and sitting about 6" about the top of the tower was our remote control, stuck in the mini-blinds that cover that window. It was sitting at an angle just like I had seen it sitting on the side of the mountain. I don't care what other people say or think, but someone, somewhere, told me where to look for that thing! I would have NEVER thought to look in the blinds. All I can guess is that it got pushed off of the desk and landed in the blinds and we weren't paying attention when it happened. -
I sell a fair amount of stuff on eBay and have decided that 10% of my auction sales will go to Lake Wales to help aid in recovery. It isn't a lot, but it's all I can think to do right now. I can physically go out to to help clean up and I don't have the money in my own pocket to send to them. Hopefully I will be able to make at least some kind of donation to them through other means. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone effected by Charley and especially with our extended family at the dz.

That's what I was looking for! Now I get it. This is one of those things that you learn in high school, but forget. I think it was one of those, "I'm going to learn this until I have a test on it then forget it because I'll never need to know this in real life."
-
That sounds reasonable.

That's not exactly the answer I was looking for. Thanks for playing, but spin again.
