Good quality, I have 2 and they're both the Cristal model and are well made.

At my DZ we have a shed load of PF Tandems and we had for a 2 year period, one Advance Tandem rig. It wore like shit, from what I see in France the Advance rigs don't wear that well, just my view with what I've seen and heard. I have no axe to grind and don't use either rigs you are asking about, instead a Javelin which I find very comfortable. If ever I was to move away from my Javelins I'd probably go UPT.

Have you looked at your altimeter during a malfunction?
Decodiver replied to jwynne's topic in Safety and Training
4 mals - of them 3 high speed cutaways didn't check altimeter it had gone to rat shit so ciao went the main Only checked once on the canopy i got out of spinning line twists (won't do that again as i went a bit too low for my liking) -
Perfectly said, sir.

Tell me you are NOT saying an audible will prevent this situation. Tell me you are NOT telling him to depend on an audible...please. No altitude awareness full stop will prevent this situation, anyone back flying is free flying and at my DZ if you want to freely the rule is you have an audible. I took Brian Germain's advice and I have 2 of them and I think that is a good idea, just passing it on :-) And anyone who depends on an audible is a fuckhead........

Yes the WL is too high. I'll share my canopy progression with you, not saying it's right but this is what I did. I started skydiving in August 2008 and I am 44 years of age now. I weighed 187lbs out of the door Jump #1 to #30 on a 260sq ft WL = 0.71 Jump #2 to #42 on a 220sq ft WL = 0.85 Jump #43 to #157 on a 210 sq ft WL = 0.89 Jump #158 to #278 on a Storm 190sq ft WL = 0.98 Jump #279 to #563 on a Sabre2 170sq ft WL = 1.10 Jump #564 to #614 on a Sabre 2 150sq ft WL = 1.24 Jump #615 to #737 on a Xfire2 129sq ft WL = 1.44 Jump #738 to #1057 on a Xfire2 119sq ft WL = 1.57 Jump #1058 to #1442 on a Xfire2 109sq ft WL = 1.71 Jump #1442 to #1552 on a JVX 99sq ft WL = 2.0 (I've put on some weight) Started jumping my own rig at jump #158 at a WL of 0.98. Now I'm not saying I'm right, but I changed canopy size each time with the express permission of my DZO and of course I've scared myself a few times. I made sure I could do everything on BillVon's list multiple times before downsizing each time. Just thought this may be some useful numbers for you. Cheers.

Break-off is not the time to learn to back fly............ Don't get 1 audible get 2 and finally only fuckheads pull low.........altitude is your friend....you'll realize why the day you cut away a mal................

I can't speak for their abilities to build camera helmets, but I can for sure they are a very reputable company with excellent customer service. +1 Chutingstar have exceptional customer service

I had a Fuzion a few years ago and was not impressed with the quality or the service. I sold it and have had a number of different Tonflys since, great quality, great service. I also have a G2 and a G3 from Cookie. Their helmets rock too.

AAD vs. Actually learning to be safer....
Decodiver replied to HaroldBoyles's topic in Safety and Training
Some people think that when you use these safety devices, you will likely take more risks or engage in riskier behavior. I choose my skydives and the people I skydive with without a thought for my AAD. if the dive seems risky or the people are fuckheads then I decline....I'm the first line of defence for myself......as I said the AAD is there as a last roll of the dice but in no way will I take the risk of saying I'll do something on the edge 'cos i got an AAD. Hell my reserve is an Optimum 126 that I load at 1.57:1 not sure I'd survive an unconscious landing under that anyway........but I hear ya....the world's full of people who think an AAD will open their reserve when all it is designed to do is cut the reserve closing loop everything after that is just luck in my opinion.......... -
AAD vs. Actually learning to be safer....
Decodiver replied to HaroldBoyles's topic in Safety and Training
I jump where I have to use an AAD, that said I would still use one even if I didn't have to. Too many possibilities of collision or foot in the face on plane emergency evac or some ass (or even me) fucking up and colliding and whilst for me I also know that at best it will only cut the loop then I'm in the realms of a PC hesitation and if that happens I'm smoke. But if it doesn't then I may just survive. I owe that to my wife, my 2 young girls and my elderly mother and friends to give myself that last throw of the dice. It doesn't change the way I skydive one iota, just maybe might save my life one day....... -
Crossfire 2 is a dream at the right wingloading, with your experience I'd say a PD Storm I had one at 1:1 and it opened great.

I have the Lookma gloves too but find they're thicker and give me less dexterity than the Neumanns. Having said that their quality is impressive.
-
I wear gloves all the time, Neumann I find are the best but I get through at least a couple of pairs a season 'cos I wear them all the time as that helps dexterity. I also wear a helmet, jumpsuit and decent socks all the time too. The amount of times I see people wearing low socks, shorts no gloves etc makes me laugh. I always say to them that when you skydive you know where you take off from but you never know where you may end up landing............

I have a Javelin with puds for cutaway and reserve and have had no problem finding either of them on the 2 cutaways I have had. I also muscle-motor train under canopy to find both handles after I have loosened my chest strap by climbing the MLW from my hip rings if I ever need to cutaway once under a fully functioning wing. The Javelin puds have a metal barrel within which makes them more solid, I have a black and red jumpsuit so my handles are orange. Coops.

NEED HELP choosing. optima 2, neptune 2 or neoxs
Decodiver replied to jojames's topic in Gear and Rigging
Optima 2 - great audible, you can grow with it, great customer service. -
Two canopy out.. to release or not release?
Decodiver replied to CloudyHead's topic in Safety and Training
No you shouldn't. -
Well done, congratulations! Now go find a coach and do a filmed coach jump in sit and let the guy (gal) give you some solid feedback on your position and how you move. Get those hands in front of your torso and fast and fly using your back. They'll explain Well done, Coops.

It is excellent and well replaces my DIY mount I had on a sweatband.........................

Watch your stuff at the boogies!
Decodiver replied to skydiverek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
thieves are fucking scum.........fucking leeches that suck off of good people.............hope they fucking die! -
both times a break fire followed by a violent spinning mal..... Cheers, Coops.

I wear gloves, a jumpsuit, socks, a helmet and my Vans on every jump winter or boiling hot summer days. When you take-off in a plane you never know where you're going to land.....ever. Just my thoughts so gloves are a protection IMHO. Cheers, Coops.
