Hey clint, most of the vidiots at SSM used to fly those in the summer. Some still do. I have flown in shorts with my camera jacket a bunch. It took just a while to get used to having less on my legs to work with but not that bad. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

HERE is a website that has some video, a malfunction video with board cutaway, and some pics etc. The surfer posts here as "Douva" I used to be his cameraman. You could ask him any other questions about skysurfing too.

Michael and Rick, as a couple of fashion icons yourselves, i wouldn't talk too much about douva and his wardrobe. Douva, grab Alicia and take her shopping with you, hell, she makes Jason look good. I thought it was bad form to try to dig on rears, due in part to the much greater chance of inducing a high speed stall. Thought the recomended practice on diging out from a low hook was to abandon the rears (since they are just for getting longer swoops) and use the toggles. Clarity: I am not talking about the basic coaxing you have to do on a canopy like a velocity to get it out of a dive, I am talking, "oh shit im gonna pound in,..!! pull up!!!" type of digging out. If there is anyone that could enlighten me on this topic it would be great. That emphasis was mine, not the original posters'. I slipped my rears and had to bail to toggles, that is what i was talking about. Just when you think you are coaxing a canopy out of a dive and then having your hands slip, that sucks. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

LOL, your story reminds me of the time Kim called me telling me there was a huge spider in her house that had "fur" She and the cats were holed up in the bedroom till it went elsewhere. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

Trust me it sucks! I have slipped off of my rears when wearing gloves and it is a scary ass feeling. Luckily i was able to use my toggles and pull it out although just barely. I'll be watching this thread to see what others suggest. I use "Mechanix" gloves when i have to wear gloves, otherwise nothing. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

It is NOT a comp cobalt, look at the nose, it only has the formed nose in the center. It also has closed cells on the end like a demon. Basically, he is an Atair pilot, they sent him something to try out, and he likes it. You probably won't ever see another one. Yep, but the blade didn't deform his canopy like that, his hip check of the water did. He pulled it out somehow and landed sliding on his ass. He did better at that than i did obviously. Daniel had a bad day and it got into his head. We all know what he is capable of. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

Hey Zeemax, My second rig was an OJ with a pdr143 and a cobalt 135. It didn't look "chunky" at all. I haven't had that rig in about 2 years now so i don't have any pics of it anymore.

After the comp was over for one competitor, he decided to give us all a freestyle demonstration. It didn't go exactly as planned, well except for me, i did get pics of it. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
